Gov. Spencer Cox:

This needs to be an inflection point. We were founded on the idea that we, as a society, would self governor. With the power to self govern comes the responsibility to self-correct when we have made mistakes. Our mistakes are plentiful.

We could create a long list of mistakes our voters and politicians have made. Our latest mistake is to dehumanize and ignore people we disagree with. 

I would like to think that I stay above the frey, but I am sure that I have either crossed the line or I have been perceived as crossing the line. In both cases, that is never my intent. For that, I am sorry. 

I will not ask anyone else to take this stance, but I am going to strive to be more civil in my discourse. Those that act in kind, will get my respect. Those that don't will get my sympathy.
