But we did buy 4 totally useless submarines from the Brits and you do not want to know what the overall cost was and still going strong. I have a friend who was ex-Navy working on them. The Brits moth-balled them a few years after they were built. What does that tell you?

I remember being in Halifax and Esquimalt when two of them were in dry dock being upgraded. Talk about a make-work project pi$$ing your tax dollars away.

And every time we get equipment, we always need to Canadianize them (in order to create jobs in Canada) and they are almost always a total failure. Buy "off the shelf" items that are proven to work, who cares where they are made in another NATO country. The CF guys in the field will thank you for stuff that works!

Actually that's not quite true. Enbridge has come forward and said they would love to present a plan, but the current laws and regulations make it impossible. They even advise what would need to change.

So in fact there is a willing private partner in this that would love to move forward but they can't because the current regulation makes it cost prohibitive or impossible.

At the moment the left argument is that we have passed enough laws and regulations to make it impossible to present a plan, and therefore the fact that there is no plan is proof that nobody wants to. You don't need me to explain why that logic is faulty I'm sure.

Enbridge? Prove it Ha Ha Ha

Current regulations??? C5? The one all conservatives voted to make building one easier??

You cannot explain your way out of a wet paper bag LOSER!!!!

Sure, the conservatives voted to make it easier but the liberals have not removed the underlying laws which make it hard.

The only way it gets easier is if the liberals declare an area to be a special economic zone. Well they haven't done that for Alberta, the old rules are still in place so development can't happen.

But I appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate how uneducated you are on the subject yet again  :)

Oh Jeezuz K Riest you'll imagine anything as reality to back your BS points, right? "only under right conditions" WTF do you think that means? They're getting a boner just thinking about it?

Ya think they're gonna just pull out their last proposal and it will get rubber stamped this time? And ignore the massive costs of TMX and Coatal Gas?
The old proposal would cost 10X what it did when rejected. Would that be cost effective?

Why don't you actually read something before you say stuff like that?

It would be great if you actually read what you link and comprehend what is written but...I guess I am expecting far too much from your tiny brain LOL

The entire C-5 Bill makes it easier.

There is nothing in the link that validates or proves your BS point and claim LOL

LOSER!!!

"But if pipeline companies are keen on proposing a new West Coast pipeline in the near future, they're not saying so publicly."

"The company said in a written statement Wednesday that it would explore market-diversifying projects, provided the demand is there from customers....but only when the conditions make sense and the right framework is in place," Enbridge said."

"Mark Maki said "optimizing the existing kit" is a priority over building something new for now."

"fellow at the University of Calgary's School of Public Policy, said it's hard to see how Smith can entice a private company to get on board."

"For Enbridge, Masson said one stumbling block would be how a potential new West Coast system may affect the economics of its Mainline system"

Give it up LOSER...you blew it again LOL

you guys keep repeating that like it is impossible to do...Why would Alberta be pushing it if there was no plan in the works...most of those provincial requests are just plans on someone's wall...not sure why you would dismiss it outright...when the entire idea here is to create an energy corridor, to make Canada more prosperous...or do you dislike alberta that much ?

There is NO pipeline plan in the works.

If Alberta wants it so bad...let them initiate it but wait...that will cost Alberta money LOL

No one dislikes Alberta...what is disliked is Smith making BS statements. She is Trumpified and we are surprised she has not dyed her hair Orange LOL

They're pretty clear about what it means. They said there would have to be substantial legislative changes federally and provincially. Which means for the feds no more tanker band and no more anti pipeline bill. BC would have to make a change or two as well but we're talking about the feds right at the moment.

Based on your level of freak out you know that what I'm saying is true and it upsets you. I can't really help that, the truth is what it is

What are you even talking about? I realize it's Friday so technically you're not violating our deal by drinking this early but still.

What they're saying is they would love to relook at that project. And they love to put a proposal forward but it cost a lot of money to redo a proposal from scratch. And they're not interested in spending that money while there are rules in place that would make it impossible

And that's what every other company is thinking as well. There's no point in Showing any interest while the rules are in place that would prevent it from happening

Pretty cut and dry. Get rid of the rules that prevent it from happening and they will put projects forward. If you don't they can't

roflmao!!!!!!!!!!!!   You got proven wrong again and now you're having another hissy fit :)  HAAHAAHAHA!!! God you're just precious aren't you :)

enbridge is being quite clear and it's volumes that they would say even this much considering normally these guys keep their mouths shut for fear of upsetting the government

If the legislation changed, they would put  forward a proposal

There would be if the liberals took away their anti-pipeline law. Which they have not. Ambridge came out and said so. And if they said so you can bet others would be looking at it as well.

So your whole point is the liberals blocked any Pipelines and your proof that this is okay is that now that the pipelines are blocked nobody is proposing any Pipelines

It's a shame when parents drop their children so often, i hope you sued them for it.

I thought you said Harper sold this. Now you're just saying the government approved a sale? I thought you were suggesting Harper was involved, like going to China with a briefcase full of leases and eagerly offering them around. But no, it's just a routine approval of a small oil company that is sold to a foreign company.

Yeah, the Chinese were buying Canadian oil companies. You know why? Because the legislative changes the Liberals and NDP put in place and their deep hostility to oil and gas development were making it extremely difficult for companies to get investors interested in them or to get loans to expand, and it was either sell or close down.

What has this got to do with the Liberals funding the NDP purchase of Chinese ships? Just how deep in China's pocket is Eby and the BC NDP? How much influence do they have with the federal Liberals? Evidently a LOT. And where is that foreign agents law?

On 7/3/2025 at 11:14 AM, ExFlyer said:

Oh and, in case you were not aware, the pipeline to the US is different than the one throughout BC and has the 200, 000 barrels a day remaining capacity

You mean the trans mountain one to the coast, don't you? Try to keep focused. And to repeat, because apparently you have a lot of trouble following discussions, you plan for tomorrow's production, not what you're putting out today. Also, you plan for what might happen with our neighbors. Ie, it would sure be nice to be able to divert a lot more of our oil to the coast to send to Japan if the Americans refuse to pay world prices.

Uhh, sure bud. Whatever. I notice that a lot of people, when they're losing arguments and can't think of anything else to put out there, start accusing the other person of being upset or emotional or something. It's almost an internet cliche. But if that makes you feel all manly, go for it.

It's this sort of rewriting a history that really honks me off. It's so childish, it's very obvious harper didn't sell anything. The owners of the company sold the company and all harper did was not stand in the way when they had made that decision. But the lefties try and turn that around into harper sold the company! He literally started picking Canadian companies at random and selling them to foreign nations! He could sell your children next!

It's so stunningly disingenuous. It's basically saying that in their opinion harper did nothing wrong so they have to fabricate false things in order to try and explain why they don't like him
