I think that Canada will eventually break up. I think they will come a point when the west is big enough and strong enough to decide that it's time to stand on its own and they will be fed up with the east telling them how to live. But more importantly I think trudeau turned one Canadian against the other. The sense of belonging to a larger Canada largely evaporated under his term. It flared to life for like 5 seconds when trump threatened us and now it's gone again. We do have a democracy, and we need to learn to use that better to our advantage. But there is no doubt that you are correct that one group of people has their thumb on the scale in a huge way. Democracy is slanted in favor of one group and while that control is not absolute it is powerful and excuse the results in favor of that group. In other words if under normal circumstances the liberals would win 50% of the time and the conservatives would win 50% of the time, with the way things are the liberals will win 75% and the conservatives 25% And yes that is terrible.
