I can't believe this id*ot wants to go backward on one of the worst environmental problems. We should be banning more plastics, like individually wrapped cheese slices. We're already finding micro-plastics in food and wildlife. What a troglodyte!!!

OMG! OMG! OMG!

We need to elect the liar! He will protect us from plastic straws!

Thanks, guys. Keep talking!

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

Has carney even put this in his campaign, how do you know he will ban even more plastics, what is banned is hardly making a huge difference, kind of like the carbon tax, big sales pitch no results...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

The federal court squashed the ben in November 22.

So you would like to continue using these

Got kids? Want them to grow up with micro-plastics in their blood and brain? Or maybe you just don't give a shit about anything except scoring a few political points. This is beyond short sighted politics.

  1. How the F do you know what Carney intends to do about the ban on single-use plastics? His words are the exact opposite of the truth a lot of the time. If you're just going by Carney's words, you're an id10t.
  2. Stop trying to pretend that you're saving the world by electing another LPOC dirtbag. Single-use plastics is not an election issue. It's a minor consideration.
  3. What changes does PP actually intent to make to the single-use plastics ban? Be honest.

Drinking a soft drink with a paper straw makes any beverage taste like drinking cardboard. The longer the paper straw stays wet, the more it becomes useless. We need to do what Trump has done in America. Plastic straws are back in America.

The little bit of plastic banning that Canada is doing has no real effect on the environment at all because most countries still use plenty of plastic on so many things. It is impossible to ban all plastics which is what crazy people like you want to do. We brought or bought in the use of plastic to save the trees. Now we are trying to stop the use of plastic, and start cutting down more trees for making more grocery paper bags. Dam politicians, always trying to mess with our heads. 🤮

Did you not get the overall Tory message that they want to end or reverse every f*cking environmental regulation.
Because as you're supposed to believe that the extra 5¢ and hour you'll get from companies being freed of them will be worth living your life neck deep in shit and industrial waste.

Progress bad, going backwards good.

Incorrect. The ban is still in effect.

"Although the Federal Court struck down the ban, the federal government appealed that decision, and while the matter is before the courts, the ban remains in effect. The ban will occur in phases, with different deadlines for specific items"

The evidence is overwhelming that banning plastic straws does nothing. It was another virtue signaling effort on behalf of Trudeau.

A recent study has also highlighted another potential concern. Paper straws assessed by researchers at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, were found to contain more "forever chemicals" – per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances or PFAS – than plastic. These long-lasting PFAS can stay in the environment for decades, can contaminate water supplies, and are associated with a range of health problems. (Read more about where forever chemicals come from, how long they last for and how we could clean them up.)

The researchers behind the study say their results suggest that paper straws – along with their bamboo counterparts, which were also found to contain PFAS – are not necessarily a more sustainable alternative to plastic. The higher levels of forever chemicals they contain, they say, could be seen as a question mark over how "biodegradable" these alternatives are.

This has turned out to be as stupid an idea as the forcing people to move to reusable bags has. It turns out that the reusable bags do not survive as long as people thought and very often wind up in the landfill almost as fast as plastic yet create vastly more greenhouse gases to produce.

People have had enough of the virtue signaling. I think it's a dumb thing to fight an election on, but at the end of the day if you care about children you'll start caring more about the truth and less about looking good.

It's telling that after the debates, all that left4rds can say is:

"Apple-man wants to end the ban on single-use plastics! WE CHOOSE MORE POVERTY!"

A fact is a fact. You certainly do not have to like it but it is a fact and the right answer.

No nitpicking when your lies are exposed LOL

Don't be embarrassed by your lack of information, we all know you lack that LOL

Oh and, PP says banning single use straws will save Canadians $400 per year???  Where the F does he come up with that crap????

That question really takes the cake 😂

Are you honestly too stupid to think of any time or place when a person would use a straw to drink a soda?

Have you never driven a car while you were eating fast food?

Of course not, you're 12.

This is not about plastic straws. And not even about plastic packaging, much of which is necessary.  It's about removing as much plastic as possible from the waste chain and food chain. You don't think that's a good idea?
