Hodad Posted April 15 Report Posted April 15 (edited) Another example of a Trump appointee who we all knew was wildly unqualified for the job proving that she's wildly unqualified for the job. I mean, she didn't text classified combat plans to a journalist and she didn't crash the stock market, so she's doing relatively well for this clown car administration, but still pretty alarming. News anywhere McMahon, 76, is the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. She has been placed in charge of the Department of Education, which President Donald Trump has stated publicly he wants to disband. Speaking on a panel discussion about AI, she repeatedly referred to the technology as “A1.” “I heard, think it was in a letter or report that I heard this morning, I wish I could remember the source, but that there’s a school system that’s going to start making sure that first-graders, and even pre-K have A1 teaching in every year,” McMahon told the panel. “Kids are sponges,” she continued. “They just absorb everything. It wasn’t all that long ago that it was, ‘We’re going to have internet in our schools!’ Now let’s see A1 and how that can be helpful.” At least social media marketers can have some fun at our expense. How much does she really need to know to carry out the destruction of the Edu Dept.? 🤮 Her "leadership" of the dept. can be used to justify the dismantling. Quote

Needing to know about AI is not a qualification for this job, and no "classified combat plans" were sent to a journalist. The stock market did not crash. LMAO Quote AI Overview Learn more In almost all cases, the past tense of "pay" is "paid," not "payed," which is a less common and outdated variant, primarily used in nautical contexts. Here's a more detailed explanation: "Paid" is used in the financial or transactional sense . Example: "I paid for the movie tickets" "Paid" is the standard past tense of "pay" in most contexts . Example: "I paid the bill yesterday." "Payed" is a less common, nautical term . It can mean to coat parts of a boat with waterproof material or to let out a rope or chain by slackening it. Example: "The sailors payed the ropes." "Payed" is used in the context of boats and sailing . Example: "The captain payed the ship's hull with tar" Quote

"Lay something (knowledge) down for" makes no sense the way you used it, while "paid for" makes perfect sense. Is English your second language? LMAO Why do people use payed instead of paid? It's because payed doesn't get autocorrected/spellchecked. Payed means to lay something down, and hence it's recognized as a word by autocorrect/spellcheck. So, most people just assume it's an alternative to paid or the correct spelling.Sep 27, 2020 Why do so many people type "payed" instead of "paid"? : 54 minutes ago, Legato said: You've been given enough rope.
