It is comical that some think that being religious and/or having read religious texts makes you morally superior, smarter, etc. My paternal grandfather was a Catholic Priest as well as a sadist/pedophile

Nobody said it makes "you morally superior or smarter".  Nice try though.  If you want to start accusing people out of the blue, you have a mental problem.

The Bible says the accuser of the brethren is Satan.  Who are you following?

"1  The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2  The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3  They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one."  Psalm  14:1-3

There ya go pontificating again.  LOL

Another paragraph from the story book. LOL

A smart person would stop while they still have dignity. :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Believe it or not... neither. One can not follow God nor Satan. This is not a binary option.

Satan was the guy who thought of a way to keep all the rif raf on earth on a permanent war footing by creating all the religions.

Everyone who is not following God is automatically under the influence of Satan.  That is because this world system is Satan's domain for now.  The only way out of that is to be born again.

and I do not believe in what you say.. no matter how many times you repeat it. With us or against us... so tribal and so primitive.

That is true insofar as the world's religions are false.

Biblical Christianity is not a religion.  The word religion generally refers to false belief systems.

My goodness.. you are such a comedian. I tried to have a rational discussion with you but as always with you religious types.... it always comes down to with us or against us and your justification... subjective opinion.

When did you try to have a rational discussion with me?  Not today.  Your first comment as far as I can tell was:

"Believe it or not... neither. One can not follow God nor Satan. This is not a binary option."

Then your next post was:
"and I do not believe in what you say.. no matter how many times you repeat it. With us or against us... so tribal and so primitive. "

A rational person can accept that someone can be equal, respectable, etc. and not believe in what they do. However, that is not the case with you or most religious types. Sad but true.

If you have a rational comment to make, make it.

I am not holding my breath.  When  it comes to the Bible, a rational comment on the forum from most people is very unlikely.  There is the odd exception, but not many.

You see. You just proved what I said in my last comment.  As I said, the world system and most of the world is under the influence of the prince of darkness.   Forums don't lend themselves to rational comments on biblical matters when most people are atheists or agnostics.  That is the way social media is.  We can't change that.  It is impossible to have a reasonable discussion on it on these forums.  I realized that long ago.  But I always hold out a little hope there might be the odd exception.  But you know nobody convinces anyone else about politics or religion.  That is a given.

Believe it or not.. I have not read the Bible, will never do so, and do not pretend to be an expert.

Also, I live 500 yards from a church. Do I have any ill will for them? No. Why? Because they leave me alone. No pamphlets, no one knocks at the door, nothing. They respect me in that way and so I am quite pleasant to anyone I encounter from the church. You seem like someone who could not be so amicable.

^^^ translated.. a reasonable discussion is where I or someone else agrees with you and tells you what you want to hear.

No, I would define a rational discussion as one in which when someone presents strong evidence on something and the other person gives a little and is willing to acknowledge that may be true or actually accepts it.

I am all for rational discussion.  When it comes to the Bible, most people, who are non-believers to begin with, automatically get on the defensive and throw dirt.  I understand that.  I try not to get my back up.

But getting back to the point, what do you believe?

So what does that prove?  Maybe they never had the chance to discuss their beliefs with you.  About the only people that go door-to-door these days are Jehovah's Witnesses and possibly Mormons.  Regular churches do not have people that go around talking to strangers normally.  So of course they leave you alone.  That really proves nothing.

Sounds like if someone attended a church and started talking to you, you would immediately get your back up.  You want to be "left alone".  Not a great way to treat your fellow man who might have something useful to tell you.

One can judge a book by its cover. :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

There you go making broad assumptions.  Who said I am not amicable.  I do at times respond to blatant insults from certain people whose only reason for being here is to throw insults.  I try not to use fowl language or insulting names.  I try to simply state facts which seems reasonable to me.  If one doesn't speak, there is no forum, right?  A forum only exists because people comment on it. Otherwise there is nothing.

So how do you come up with your judgement that it is fiction if the cover says "Holy Bible" and nothing more?

That is misleading info.  Israel has had to fight Hamas and Hezbollah and other terrorists since the beginning.  They are only defending their right to exist.

U.S. security sources say Iran has been behind the terrorist attacks.  They deny Israel's right to exist.

You don't seem to understand that Islamic countries like Pakistan,  Iran, Afghanistan and others deny Israel's right to exist and oppose the west.  You are defending the Islamic cause on here.  They would love you.

Maybe what you are hearing from the MSM and politicians is all misleading info. Of course, Israel has been fighting with those Arabs for decades now. What else does anyone expect from the Arabs to do when they have their land stolen from them. What right did Israel have to confiscate Palestinian land and boot the Palestinian people off their land.

As I said already? What would you do if someone came along and took your home and property away from you? Come on, answer that question, will you.

As I said previous, I have no horse in this Jewish/Arab race and conflict, but let's get real here, mac. ?

I think that both sides argue it the way they see it and both sides are wrong and right at the same time. The Gaza gov't has EXPRESSLY STATED that  it's madate includes the destruction of Isreal and it's people.  Sorry - but if that's your opening position then you definitely DO DESERVE to have someone keep a boot on your neck

And that's not 'colonial'.  Colonial is just a perjorative people who can't really think for themselves use these days to suggest that a group they like is repressed unfairly whether it's true or not.  Don't use it (unless you fit into that category of course :)  )

If you are openly calling for the destruction of a neighbour country and you're SURPRISED that they choose to play an active role in limiting your ability to do so, then you're too stupid to have your own country in the first place.

Well between you and his mother that's two.

You can have empathy for palestine or it's people, you can feel Isreal could have done things differently. And you can make a reasoned argument to that effect whether i might agree or not

But - when you claim that celebrating the death of innocent people is perfectly normal and is a good thing because of "colonialism", then you are a sick puppy and that's being generous.  There were innocent young women and plenty of people who weren't even isreali or jewish who were killed and captured.  That is NOT OK,

You really are not getting my point here. It all began way back in 1949 when the Palestinian people had their land stolen away from and handed over to the Jewish people. What did you expect from a people who had their land stolen away from them? Celebrate and have a big party? There are always two sides to any story. Sadly, you are only interested in hearing one side of the story and not the other. Our MSM is just as bad. But then again, look at who owns pretty much all the MSM. Just saying.

Personally, I could careless about what is going on over there in the Middle East. There is plenty to worry about here in Canada. That should be everyone's concern. Why do I have to hear about this war 24 hours a day on TV? Does everything else happening in the world not all that important anymore? Just asking.

No, I would politely say that I am not religious and move it on to a new topic. Have done it many times before... it works. Here is where you fail at this test... you assume that only the religious man has something useful to say. I might as well but he is not going to listen.. but only I am being obstinate.

Very convenient for you to say that.  I never spoke to you.  You came on and made an insulting statement about Christians/Bible believers to another radical anti-Christian:

Your own words speak for themselves.

You started by insulting people with religious beliefs and then demand nobody speak to you about religious beliefs.

You say what you feel like but don't want to hear anybody else's opinion that might contradict your opinion.
