Artificial Intelligence: Professional Liar Bots. Are They Here at Repolitics?

I was watching Elon Musk's interview on Tucker Carlson and he brought up a very interesting point which explains a lot of what we see on social media these days: programmers are teaching AI to lie, omit, obfuscate, etc.

AI is so fast that one AI site could put up 50,000 posts every second easily. Maybe ten times that many. If just one AI site is dedicated to lying it can simultaneously overwhelm humans trying to communicate in hundreds of forums on the internet.

It's worth considering that some of the posters who are dedicated to just overtly lying here in thread after thread might be AI bots. 

I've wondered how some posters can just completely ignore covid deaths stats over and over again and just keep saying "The covid shot is performing exactly the way that we would expect a vax to perform." No one is stupid enough to believe that. No one is even stupid enough to believe that other humans can be gaslighted into believing that vax bs. 

Obviously these shameless serial liars, whose names I don't even have to mention, have absolutely no shame whatsoever. They will just tell the exact same lies over and over and no matter how often they get called out, they just don't give a rip. Like bots.

Sure, they also make a lot of baseless accusations, but of course you could teach an AI site to call people nazis or racists instead of answering basic questions.

I have a few of those guys on ignore just because I don't want to be dragged down to their level, but some of the more sophisticated liars are harder to ignore because they occasionally say intelligent things which have to be countered.

So how would we police this forum to get rid of bots? Should we start putting people on suspensions just for lying? Sounds awesome, but how do we define who's lying when we get our information from the lying MSM and the internet? Think of all the things that fact checkers like politifaked and Sdopes called lies... Basically anyone who tells the truth ten times a day crosses paths with those bogus sites.

I noticed a very suspicious thing on Emails I receive via Google.

At the bottom of the Email, there is a choice of several short replies one can select from to send automatically or quickly.  How is it possible that the replies seem to fit in with the central thought in the Email I received unless there is someone there actually reading each Email before I receive it or an AI bot is scanning every Email and adding those choices to the bottom of the incoming Emails.  I find it disturbing and actually a violation of privacy.  A third party is actually reading all Emails or an AI bot is reading them and inserting possible replies for me to use.  Funny I haven't heard anything about this on the news.

I strongly suspect Google is already reading every Email that goes through their system either with real humans or AI bots.  We have the evidence.

The sad thing is that many posters seem like bots because of the seemingly mindless lack of critical thinking.  It’s shocking actually.  The zombie apocalypse is a quiet revolution.  It’s very clear how totalitarianism was able to establish itself in so many countries.  Unquestioning compliance and cowardice are the rule, not the exception, it seems.  Cognitive dissonance is another major driver in zombie land.  People simply can’t believe that life isn’t actually what they saw on TV or in the Toronto Star.  It’s easier to buy in than to question.  People won’t notice A.I. take over until their access to weed gets cut off.  Then it’s fisticuffs.

Don’t equate a refusal to take responsibility with being a science-minded person.  They’re not identical.  The dangers of A.I. are real and will get worse if we don’t limit its power and control.

As for you accusations of tribalism.  If you claim to be scientific then you’ll acknowledge the basic human psychology of humans being more comfortable with what they can identify and what they see to be comfortable and safe.  To pretend otherwise is to deny reality, but sure, there’s plenty of that happening.

"Big Tech" seems to me to translate to GAFAM - Google Apple Facebook Amazon Microsoft

They are worth maybe around $10 trillion.   They moderate discussions between individuals to an inconceivable degree, including friends and family discussions.

Zuckerberg, Gates, Bezos are the most visible faces of these and they are hated by the alt-right... probably because they have control over communication.  

What else to they do ?  They sell goods, software, and content.  Apple, MS, and Amazon have media holdings, streaming and cable channels and newspapers.

So ... why would anyone vote for a party aligned with these entities ?  

Would you vote for a party aligned with any one industry before the age of the internet ?  

Some wealthy individuals have made forays into politics with mixed results.  H. Ross Perot in the US in the 1990s.  Belinda Stronach in Canada in the 2000s, and Nelson Rockefeller.  The public reaction ranged from mild interest to ridicule.
