Move to Vancouver. Ken Sim might be more to your liking..... (or not!)

He's pretty right of Chow.

Maybe left/right isn't issue. After all what kind of ****** would move because they didn't like the Mayor? Who hasn't even done anything yet. Hot air!

So what is the issue?

Well the city you live in is important. If it has bad leadership then you are going to have higher property taxes for example. More crime. There are many reasons someone would care about the mayor.

Well she does have a very extensive history in politics. It is very easy to see her track record perhaps you were unaware of this but this isn't her first job in politics. :)

And IS raising property taxes by double digits for the next several years. So is the new Mayor of Surrey, on top of gonna waste tens of millions going back to the RCMP simply out of ideology.

No, but it's not like we expect you to be right about anything :)

He's proposing to possibly raise it as much as 9 percent over 5 years.

You're probably thinking of surrey who really did bump taxes by 12.5 percent in one year recently.

The funny thing is the local pundits who point out all of the problems we have... the many many problems... and then say that a left-wing candidate can't solve them.

But we've had right-wing mayors for 13 years now, so....

Anyway, the polls are all over the place - I wouldn't put [radical] centrist Ana Bailao out just yet.

Toronto has been a pretty well-run city.  For instance, housing isn't the city's fault, condo buildings have been flying up like mad for many years.  The traffic grid is utterly fantastic, but the city can't control the pace of how many migrants move to the city.  It's impressive they've adapted to the population pressures so well.

Don't have one. You do though apparently.

You're the one lying about moving out of Toronto because a Socialist won a plurality of the vote and will be mayor for the next 3 years.

Didn't move when David Miller was the mayor?

Lying? What a twerp. I spent much of last weekend viewing properties outside Toronto in Prince Edward County. Next I'm be doing the same thing in the Chatham area. But you go ahead and love your new Chinese communist mayor and all the new taxes she imposes.

Your sarcasm detector is broken. Unsurprising.

LOL...

BTW...its not so much her communist ideals with regards to politics, that bothers me so much. Its her history. I never liked her and that's not about to change. I simply don't trust her to do anything but raise taxes and blame the Feds and Provincial gov for her failures.

She started singing that tune the day she stepped into office. No character...just pure victimhood.

Toronto has a sizeable budget gap. Their tax rate is much lower than in its immediate suburbs.

John Tory's strategy was to beg for money from the Feds and the Province as he refused to pass along sizeable property tax increases.

Yeah begging for provincial and federal bailouts has been Toronto's fiscal strategy since I was born.

I don't really understand how this is where Trudeau's government draws the line on wasteful spending, but I'm happy to see both levels of government finally telling them to fix their house.
