I come at this from a less 'moral' and more 'practical' position.  Unplanned unwed pregnancies are known to lead to additional crime and other social problems. Less so with our canadian safety net than in the states, but still nonetheless.

Truth be told, i ran a little side 'charity' when i was younger refurbing old computers that clients were disposing of and giving them to single moms who were looking at returning to school to upgrade their skills so that they could do the basics like use the internet and word/excel.  I know what it was like for many of them.

Are we likely to be able to get kids to stop having sex? Probably not.  Is it reasonable to think kids under the age of 21 are going to always make the best decisions? Oh hell no.

It is desirable to have fewer unplanned pregnancies. Kids are going to boink. Ergo - making birth control as accessable as possible does seem to have some merit.  I HATE paying for things out of my tax dollars that only benefit one sex and that i will never get a benefit from personally in any way, but in this case i think it's justified.

I mean obviously you're entitled to an opinon for sure - and i can see arguments against it for various reasons. But i was just pointing out that beyond morality there IS a practical component to this. A single abortion costs a hell of a lot of money and they're already getting those for free.

Here's a VERY simple solution, for the hard lefties here who think they are entitled to everything free.

I SAY EVERY POOR PERSON ON WELFARE gets ALL the free condoms he/she wants, paid for by the taxpayers. And the understanding should be another kid comes a long and ALL the welfare is GONE.

It's good for society to keep these animals from reproducing, but you've got to give them an incentive to knock it off.

I'd say most children are surprises to their married parents. And they usually grow up in happy homes and are successful (usually by getting jobs and voting Republican.)

If one is single and does not want children,  one has to take precautions or abstain. There are tons of birth control methods that will prevent conception. Most of them are pretty cheap. Or one could turn homo and have all the sex he/she/it wants.

There are options. But just slutting out there night after night with no precautions IS something animals do.

Educated people know this. Next time you see an educated person, ask him.
