Got to love the screeching by the left over Musk buying Twitter.

Our side is enjoying themselves:

The Babylon Bee, the Christian satire website which Elon Musk contacted before making his offer to purchase Twitter, issued a tweet linking to a video that joked about a Twitter employee undergoing therapy due to the imminent takeover by Elon Musk.

Twitter reacted by labeling the tweet with a warning for its “potentially sensitive content.”

The Babylon Bee had been suspended from Twitter for a March 15 article that jokingly named Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine as “Man of the Year.”

The billionaires who own the media do not like this upstart billionaire.

It’s frightening to see how easily the general public is swayed to hold whatever opinion media moguls want them to believe.

This despite what Elon Musk has achieved. Tesla, Space X, Starlink. And not even done yet.

I love how Musk seems to purposely take them for a ride.

Fight mass media manipulation with mass media manipulation.

Now they have their shiny new DHS Truth Board. Its lead by a female who has a very warped relationship with fact and truth.

GAWD I wanna see Trump back in the Whitehouse again! This crap has to be stopped. The Democrats are openly destroying what's left of US democracy and they spit on the flag and the constitution.

People ask me why I get so angered by this. Here's a warning for them.

Yes...I AM CANADIAN! And I know that when the USA sneezes, Canada gets a cold. I also know that Globalist forces are scrambling to complete their authoritarian vision and that we who value freedom and truth, are in their way. They will do anything to remove us. Freeze our bank accounts...ban us from posting truth on internet chat boards...DOX us...whatever it takes, they are willing to do. So please believe me when I say...

If you continue to kick the dog of freedom and truth...the doggie will bite your Gawd Damn leg off!

I'm pretty sure that Musk is aware that 'free speech' is not absolute. As long as he could  come up with a few common sense rules that all users were aware of and THAT APPLIED EQUALLY TO EVERYONE, i'd be happy with that.

3. Rights groups are supposed to be non-political.  ACLU for example fights for gun rights...  I read the Amnesty Intl statement https://www.amnestyusa.org/press-releases/amnesty-international-usa-statement-on-twitters-commitment-to-protecting-human-rights/ and it basically admonished the previous owner of Twitter... so this is at least partially inaccurate
4. Schiff - Democrat

Don't call Democrats 'my side' - I am a Canadian conservative man who appreciates non-hysterical calm discussion of issues.  I don't give a fig who owns Twitter.  I found a lot of articles that said 'liberals' are concerned by Musk's takeover which makes no sense to me at all.  But I guess it explains the subject line.

I'm glad you are enjoying yourself.

Twitter employees overwhelmingly donate to the Democratic party and there is clearly something wrong with the platform when real dictators and dictatorships can have Twitter accounts but not Donald Trump. They don't try too hard to  hide their bias but yes it is funny to see them literally crying over Elon Musk taking over.

Twitter employees still flooding Democrats with 99 percent of their donations for midterm elections | Fox News

The lefties absolutely hate real free speech and open debate.

Well, if you're going to check them out, check them out.

Vijaya Gadde isn't just "a lawyer." She's the top Twitter executive behind banning the New York Post for noticing what was on Tucker Biden's laptop and Banning the Republican President of the United States.

Notice what "side" that is?

It's the same side you always seem to be fanboying.

Dude the government of the United States is already in a panic and nothing has even happened yet.

When the NYPost got banned from Twitter for telling the truth no one from the Dem side cared at all. They wouldn't acknowledge that shadow bans were real until about 3 days ago. But all of a sudden when Musk starts talking about free speech on Twitter it's time to open a government censorship panel?

Theoretically the 1st amendment exists to prevent the government from stifling free speech and at the first sign of free speech on Twitter the US gov't went batshit crazy.

Yes, leftists are looking at this as a pandemic of facts.

I don't see 'the left' screeching about it. It's certainly not a good thing for free speech. It's not a  good thing for much of anything really. But, most folks think there are bigger issues. The biggest hand-wringing I see on the left is the fact that we have a system that a single dumb guy can upend when he feels like it.

Why do Progressives have such a problem with the obvious, anyway?

Or is it just that they hope they can bluff their way out of having the rest of us notice it?

Of course the leftist Twitterati is freaking. They're in danger of losing control of the narrative.

This is what they do when they see themselves losing control:

Stop pretending you don't see it. Of course, you see it. I'd have to believe you're all stupid not to see it. I don't think that's the problem.

Lol, I didn't mention trump, and the right has much bigger tds than anyone on the right. You love him way more than you love America.

I love the results of the Trump presidency...that's true.

The sort of policies Trump employed, will be making an abrupt comeback, regardless of who is in the White House in 2024.

Then you're trying not to see it. CNN is freaking out, the government is obviously freaking out, MSNBC is freaking out, and it's the in thing right now for leftists to say that they're abandoning Twitter.

It's a great thing for free speech. The only people who think that it's not are people who are comfortable with the status quo, and those are the most worthless people in our society.

FYI it should have been ok to talk about the lab leak theory because it made a lot of sense at the time. There were thousands of wet markets, hundreds of them had exotic species like the bats in question, but there was only 1 BSL4 lab in all of China, and it was right at ground zero for the viral outbreak (In case you didn't know, China is as big as the US and Canada. The location of the lab). People from the lab were some of the earliest infected people of all. They study coronaviruses there.

In a place where free speech exists, it should be ok to talk about the possibility that the virus came from the lab. People should be able to post evidence which backs that claim. Banning videos with information about that lab was clearly a violation of the 1st Amendment.

I get that you don't care when important, legitimate topics that you don't want people to discuss are banned, but that's your problem, not everyone else's. You need to grow up.

Ive seen a lot of discussion on it, since it's a loud noisy topic, and probably the entire reason musk is doing this is for all that attention. (Remember there are no policies on the right, everything is about being a troll).

As for free speech, twitter isn't great, but musk isn't very smart, and he's a lot more impulsive than what twitter tends to be now. We have seen facebook cause literal genocide through negligent monitoring of it's platform, so it's not like the worst thing in the world is twitter not amplifying your favorite personal conspiracy theory.

Musk also won't just open the floodgates. He's probably not going to allow gay porn for example (always a good test for free speech). He will ban people, he will control the flow of speech, it will just be based more on his own personal preferences.

You mean the kind of policies that worked? As opposed to the inflation driving, crime infesting, divisive, border breakdown, lunatics running the asylum policies we see under the Biden regime?

Well...love might be too strong a word, but I also approved of all those successful Trump policies.
