To be fair though, here's the clipped up video WaPo produced to try to convince people the meeting was about putting pressure on Ratburger.

What WaPo does here is what they always accuse James O'Keefe of doing. They selectively edit the Hell out of their video. It's so badly done it's obvious. O'Keefe would be too embarrassed to put out something so amateurish.

The entire tape is available to the public.

Are there parts that excuse Trump telling a Republican Secretary of State to "find" an exact number of votes so he can win the state?

You're saying you're too stupid to listen to the full video yourself and must be spoonfed an edited version, and now you're going to use that as an excuse in the hopes that the longer version, which you're too stupid to listen to, might have some added context, which you can't identify because you were too stupid to actually listen?

One thing I was stuck by listening to the audio was how ignorant Trump was about his own efforts to overturn the election. I think posters on this site would have done a better job trying to convince the Secretary of State the election was stolen.

He keeps talking about rumours and "what people are saying".

And like the constant con-man he is, he's trying to convince Raffensperger that other states are about to decertify as well. That's an obvious lie. Amongst other obvious lies.

Georgia has done 3 re-counts. At this point there's no level of due diligence that will convince Trumpers that Biden won that election.

That's OK...Al Gore still thinks he won Florida too.

The funny thing about that is that Al Gore was the President of the Senate and presided over the counting of the EC votes against him. A 5 EC vote L, Not the 74 votes Trump lost to Biden by.

The GOP is trying to get Pence to overturn the election. Imagine if Gore did that?

So you think it is fine when only losing by 5 EC votes...got it.

No, that's why Gore didn't do it.

There's video of Biden (President of the Senate in 2017) refusing to even have debate about potential voter fraud.

We'll see what Pence does, we certainly know there's a faction of the GOP that wants every Republican in Congress to make a Fealty vote to Trump.

He does whatever he does...no big deal for Pence.

The GOP members of Congress are political animals and very much aware of Trump's loyal following in significant numbers.

Joe Biden and the Democrats were already toast back in 2017.

No problem....you are in Canada, with your own kind of embarrassment.

I actually don't want him to go away.

Once he becomes a private citizen, his attempts to retain his financial solvency and freedom will be extraordinarily entertaining.

I'll just give you trump's opening. If you want more it's at the link above. There should be enough below to show this claim above is true:

"Trump was not asking  Raffensberger to cheat or commit voter fraud. He went over each of the claims of miscounting and voter fraud in Georgia and asked the Secretary of State to explain why he didn’t believe them to be legitimate"

It's clear Bubber just read the misleading WaPo title somewhere.

bcs posted the audio but he obviously didn't actually listen to it or he wouldn't think he had a gotcha.

Well, you could be right.

The call was branded "potentially criminal" by a number of lawyers, and FBI director Christopher Wray has been asked to open a criminal probe into the call, but as we all know on here, until something actually gets to the courts and an actual ruling is made by the courts, there really is no point in claiming it happened as one thinks it did.

Agreed.  It's been such a wonderful couple of months since the election, I'm really hoping it will continue to be as enthralling as we move on to the next chapter.

Ha, who needs Netflix!

Trump has been part of American popular culture and entertainment since the 1970's.  He never disappeared and used his experience to turn the GOP upside down and defeat "the most qualified" Democratic candidate (Hilary Clinton), who also managed to keep her freedom after Whitewater.

He won't go away, especially in Canada, because Trump has made his mark on the collective Canadian consciousness like few others before him with his "Trumpian" ways.

Because he's a massive con-man. Chickens eventually come home to roost.

He is what he is....and got elected president anyway...to purposely thumb noses at the status quo.

The Trump haters still don't understand that....and never will.

I fully understand how he got where he is.

You don't seem to understand that being disgusted by his "act" isn't an example of Trump owning everyone.

I know this is Godwin, but it's like if Nazis were like "Hilter is in everyone's head!" "Keep pwning the Allies".

The fact that he is exploiting poor and ignorant people isn't something to admire. Unless, of course, you're also morally bankrupt.

But you still don't understand why.

Having you get disgusted (in Canada) is just gravy, and a testament to just how effective his "act" has been.

Yes...it's Godwin and not the same at all.   The U.S. was moving against "allies" even before Trump.

I am morally bankrupt...or to be more precise...amoral.  That you invest so much energy and presumed moral supremacy into this foreign presidency is very entertaining.   You still don't understand that not all Trump "supporters" are poor and ignorant ("deplorables").

They're not. The people that the Deplorables should oppose also support Trump.

But Trump cons the "Deplorables" to make them think he's on their side. When it's clear that Trump's only in it for Trump.

Duh !   Of course Trump is in it for Trump...for over 40 years.   It is not something new just because you have become aware of American culture and politics more recently.

The opposite happened with Obama for Canada and other allies.   Canadians and other nationals dropped their panties so fast for Obama in 2008, they did not realize that he continued many of the hated Bush era domestic and foreign policies.   They didn't care because President Obama was the "chosen one"...he even got a Nobel Peace Prize...and proceeded to ramp up drone strikes, ICE arrests, deportations, etc.

Con man ?

It's not new to anyone who's been paying attention.

It's said deplorables who have the GOP terrified. A devoted core of people who somehow see this two-bit conman as a saviour. It does speak to the end of the Republican party as a "Conservative" party. It's a populist part who's devoted to one man.

How else can you describe Ted Cruz playing along with the Fraud scheme five years after Trump accused him of the exact same thing? ?
