“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told Fox News in an exclusive interview

It's not just about Israel:

Tybring-Gjedde, further, praised Trump for withdrawing a large number of troops from the Middle East. “Indeed, Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States into an international armed conflict. The last president to avoid doing so was Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter,” he wrote.

Well said T-G.

Thoughts?

I wonder if the part about "Trump hasn't brought the US into an international armed conflict" is really true. Iran might have a different take on that.

He assassinated one dude and maybe his entourage on foreign soil who was killing US soldiers.  That's different than a war.

Bush and Obama killed a TON more than Trump.

No new wars, plus 2 historic Middle East peace deals involving Jews and Muslims.  If this had happened during Obama, the mainstream media would be having a week long orgasm.  But it’s Trump, so meh.

True, but he also unilaterally moved the US embassy to Jerusalem, which is a significant provocation towards the Palestinians and I wouldn't call that "peaceful".

I like that he decided against taking military action on Iran, despite the rumour that he was given advice to attack by some of his strategists. He avoided escalating the conflict.

At the beginning of Tucker Carlson's show today he was going on at length about how top brass in DC, plus a lot of top members of BOTH political parties, are hawkish because of how much money they get from defence contractors when they manage to get new wars started.

Bolton and some others really wanted America to be far more involved in Syria but Trump was against it.

Tucker is on again at 9:00 pacific in case anyone wants to see it.

Ask the U.N. what they think of Israel's plan to annex the west bank and you'll have your answer.

You’re moving the goalposts.  This topic is about Trump’s 2 historic peace deals.  Trump actually earned his Nobel Peace Prize nomination.  Obama’s was just an affirmative action nomination.  He didn’t actually do anything to deserve it.  He spent 8 years bombing the Middle East.

I heard this story this morning and at that time, apparently no mention of it on CNN but it did appear on CNN online. I think he's certainly a worthy nominee. I'm guessing he doesn't have much chance at winning because of backroom politics.

Or because most everyone else in the world hates him LOL.

A shared Jerusalem has always been part of any peace deal.

Uh...no. You can consort with Islamo-Nazi Terrorists if you so choose. But don't expect Israel to do so.

The UN...that is run by the Islamic OIC that hates Israel? That UN?

Who cares what they think? Not Israel...just you and the terrorists.

Wrong. Obama didn't spend 8 years fighting Islamic State. He let them grow at the beginning because they were just a "Jr Varsity Terrorist Group".

The he ineffectively bothered them for a while.

His plan to unseat them was a 5 yr long pillowfight.

Dems and their useful idiots hate him, that's it.

In the middle east people actually like the fact that there's a US President who got rid of Islamic State, stopped adding to the war to unseat Assad, and didn't start any new wars.

His de-escalation policy is welcome over there, and at the same time, his firm response to terrorists is also popular among decent people.

The UN is a farce.

If you have any doubts, just look back at the WHO's plan to fight covid: "Allow planes full of people to leave the center of the viral outbreak and fly to all corners of the world, no one wear masks." A lot of us saw through that right from the very first instant, but idiotic Dems in the US and Liberals in Canada fell for it hook, line and sinker. Now those leftist idiots will shriek if they see someone not wearing a mask, or if they see a foreign license plate driving through their community.

The UN's anti-Israeli screed is nothing short of blatant bigotry.

Donald Trump has undertaken other initiatives towards reducing war in addition to these. We don't hear about some of these things.

President Donald J. Trump and His Administration are Empowering Women to Enhance Peace and Prosperity Around the World

"Nations that empower women are much wealthier, safer, and much more politically stable."
President Donald J. Trump

And we should believe this, because we know that he truly cherishes women!  :)

Trump has pressured other countries  for increased NATO spending.

Quote

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg praised President Donald Trump on Thursday for pushing countries in the alliance to boost their defense spending, an issue that has driven a wedge between Trump and Europe before.

“Let me thank you for the leadership you show on the issue of defense spending because it is very important that we all contribute more to our shared security, and it is really having an impact because, as you said, allies are now spending more on defense,” Stoltenberg said while taking reporters’ questions after the leaders met at the White House. “All allies are increasing their defense budgets.”

“Together we’ve increased and really raised a lot of money from countries that weren’t paying, or weren’t paying a fair share,” Trump said on Thursday. “We have a little ways to go, but many billions of dollars of additional money has been raised.”

Stoltenberg later told the president: “Your leadership on defense spending has really helped to make a difference.”

So you're a Netanyahu hardliner then.  Don't you have some West Bank settlements to build?

Netanyahu has nothing to do with this.

The groups you champion date back to before WW2 in their roots. Not only did they START the Arab-Israeli Wars, but during WW2 they thought it jolly fun to join Hitler and his buddies in the Holocaust. Loser don't get do-overs anymore than Germany is getting East Prussia and Pomerania back from Poland. But hey...they're not the type to take 'no' for an answer, so decided international terrorism was a positive approach to their insane demands...and they continue on that path to this day.

You'd never give them the time of day....normally. But you hate Israel more than Arab terrorists...so what can one do? You make your choices. I've made mine...mine are not supporting and enabling Islamic fascism & terrorism.

The Fourth Geneva Convention applies in the occupied territories and establishes Israel's obligations as an occupying power, in particular with respect to the humane treatment of the inhabitants of the occupied territories. As referred to in UN Security Council Resolutions 446 and 465, Israeli settlements in the occupied territories are a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Isn't the u.s. a member of that council?
