All these lies, mostly US lies, as is always the case. All these lies, supported by people who make claims to being honest, good citizens, some even claiming to be "christians". Allowing, encouraging, aiding and abetting US terrorism against the poor of the world.

How can these folks pretend they are moral, upright citizens when they defend such obvious evil?

Quote

Why US Leaders Intervene Everywhere

excerpted from the book

The Terrorism Trap

by Michael Parenti

Washington policymakers claim that US intervention is motivated by a desire to fight terrorism, bring democracy to other peoples, maintain peace and stability in various regions, defend our national security, protect weaker nations from aggressors, oppose tyranny, prevent genocide, and the like. But if US leaders have only the best intentions when they intervene in other lands, why has the United States become the most hated nation in the terrorist's pantheon of demons? And not only Muslim zealots but people from all walks of life around the world denounce the US government as the prime purveyor of violence and imperialist exploitation. Do they see something that most Americans have not been allowed to see?

Supporting the Right

Since World War II, the US government has given some $240 billion in military aid to build up the military and internal security forces of more than eighty other nations. The purpose of this enormous effort has been not to defend these nations from invasion by foreign aggressors but to protect their various ruling oligarchs and multinational corporate investors from the dangers of domestic anticapitalist insurgency. That is what some of us have been arguing. But how can we determine that? By observing that (a) with few exceptions there is no evidence suggesting that these various regimes have ever been threatened by attack from neighboring countries; (b) just about all these "friendly" regimes have supported economic systems that are integrated into a global system of corporate domination, open to foreign penetration on terms that are singularly favorable to transnational investors; (c) there is a great deal of evidence that US-supported military and security forces and death squads in these various countries have been repeatedly used to destroy reformist movements, labor unions, peasant organizations, and popular insurgencies that advocate some kind of egalitarian redistributive politics for themselves.

I'm suspicious of NK's possession of an actual H-Bomb, mind-you. Boosted fission device, perhaps.

Their real dangerous capability is the apparent move to mobile launchers for their ballistic missiles.

The danger of an EMP is there even without North Korea or Iran. We get one from the sun every 100-200 years, and it's been 200 years since the last one.

NASA says the possibility of getting one is now 12% in each year.

Coronal Mass Ejections are an issue. But it's not something we can really do much about unless we want to get all Dyson Sphere-y on ol' Sol's azz.

United Nation will impose sanctions on North Korea due to the nuclear testing recently. Good idea? Or not?

Sanctions don't seem to work at all.

Fat boy is a looney kid  in defiant-mode.  He doesn't care about his people. I think it just emboldens NK.

We could harden our electrical distribution system for literally fractions of fractions of pennies compared to what the cost will be if an EMP hits us.

I was chatting with my brother in law, the electrician about this, and I talked about, well, if you knew one had happened and was going to hit earth, could you wrap your car in cardboard or clothe and then wrap tinfoil all around it? And would that work? He said, and I quote "That's crazy but it might just work'. Protecting from an EMP is far from impossible. I bet the car companies could harden the half dozen really important electrical circuits of cars they produce for a few extra bucks.

South Korea seems to be protesting US deployment of THAAD.  I just wonder when the US is going to station nukes on South Korean soil, because its way more useful to have nukes than the ability to shoot down nukes if your end goal is global destruction.

Is South Korea ever in the next two centuries going to be without a US military presence?  Who knows.  I can imagine that the US will not only shoot at North Koreans, but any South Koreans of *any* military rank to protect said nukes if they should happen to station them there.  Poor South Korea, Rich North Korea.  Story of every conquered nation ever, came as friends - died as enemies.

It does beg the question, should Russia or China pay up a few dollars and put a THAAD system in Cuba (instead of nukes?) Or is it just better to station nukes in Cuba.

It's comforting to know we'll be able to drive to the apocalypse.

So how do you build a solar corn popper?

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Were you trying to say something? Because that rambling collection of words is confusing me about what you might b talking about. THAAD was put in place AFTER NK started shooting off missiles all over the place, not before. And the US had nukes in South Korea many years back but removed them.

Kim Jong-Un's days are numbered.

Navy Seals training South Korean ‘assassination’ squad to deal with Kim Jong-un

South Korean commandos will work with the US Navy Seals who killed Osama bin Laden to create a special unit to assassinate Kim Jong-un in the event of war.

The announcement coincides with a decision by the US to waive restrictions on the size and range of South Korean ballistic missiles, allowing it to develop its own independent capacity to drop bunker-busting bombs on the underground headquarters of the North Korean leadership in Pyongyang.

Since when is caring for your populace important?  British Imperialism was perhaps strongest during its period of serfdom (slavery)  Kings and Queens of incredible power and reach.

Uhhhh...no. It was the rise of the Navy that allowed "incredible power and reach". Rule Britannia...

Great Britain is the reason there is no slavery in the West.

Can't believe that CNN and other mainstream media would post such supportive articles about Kim Jong Un's sister at the Olympics. They have no problem picking apart political people from their own country, but seem to approve of her. Meanwhile the regime starves and murders its own people, and KJU had a few of his own family members killed, not to mention threats to attack the USA with nuclear weapons. Are you kidding me?

(CNN) If "diplomatic dance" were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un's younger sister would be favored to win gold. With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea's presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Games.

Seen by some as her brother's answer to American first daughter Ivanka Trump, Kim, 30, is not only a powerful member of Kim Jong Un's kitchen cabinet but also a foil to the perception of North Korea as antiquated and militaristic. Experts say her visit for the Winter Games is calculated to answer the expected presence of Ivanka Trump at the closing ceremonies. "Kim Yo Jong is the perfect counterpart to this," Hwang said. "And it also is a signal that North Korea is not this crazy, weird former Cold War state -- but it too has young women that are capable and are the future leadership."

"I felt a little strange to see North Koreans so close," he said. "But when they chanted, 'Him Nae Ra,' which means 'cheer up,' I realized that they are not strangers. We are the same people using the same language and supporting the same team."

CNN's Taehoon Lee, Paula Hancocks, Bill Galvin and Bijan Hosseini contributed to this report.

Time made Hitler "Man of the Year" in 1938.  That was after Dachau was built and populated, after the Night of the Long Knives, and the same year as Kristallnacht.  The media don't give a shit.  Just so long as she doesn't throw up a parasite or something.

Its Russian disinformation. There's a cold war going on between Russia, China and the US. Disinformation places a shred of truth with a whole bunch of sheeyat so it sounds plausible.

The fact is most Western countries have elite forces. Hell Canada has our elite secret unit in Ukraine running commando attacks into Russia on the Uke border. You ever read it on the news?

Fact is commando elite units are all over the place. No one knows for sure what their purpose and target is or ever will. Not even the soldiers being trained know.

Believe it.  Since she is a smokin' hot babe, Hollywood could not have cast her any better as the "girl next door".
