-1=e^ipi
Trudeau's policy appears to be that economic development in Northern communities should not be allowed because it is 'too remote'. Of course it will remain remote if economic development is not allowed to occur.

The only pipeline project Obama screwed up for Canada was Keystone. Wasn't Keystone the one that Harper was trying to get passed? What got approved by Trump?  If it's Hillary who's President today.....even if he was for Keystone, do you think Trudeau would've even tried? That Keystone being approved has nothing to do with Trudeau - it was Harper who worked hard for it. It was approved only because the Trudeau's brother Obama is gone now! And there is no Obama-extension with Hillary gone too! Trump has always been for Keystone! If it was Trump sitting during Harper's time, Harper would've gotten it! When Trump won, Trudeau knew what was going to happen. Trump has always been vocal about re-opening Keystone. He even said that once he becomes President, he'll ask for a re-submission of papers for it!  Trudeau merely jumped on board. And yet Trudeau makes it sound that he succeeded where Harper failed. It was Harper who made it happen! Trump and Harper had the same vision.  He may not be PM now....but Harper did all the heavy lifting! Edited January 26, 2017 by betsy

eyeball
So Harper was planning on selling it to Blue China? The fact China is the likeliest market for any oil coming west is IMO the 2nd most important reason for not building any more capacity to do so.

SpankyMcFarland
First rule of politics: always take credit when you can. You are going to be blamed for loads of things you didn't do so grab any good news that's passing.

He gets to take the credit because people like the above are happily allowing him to lie and get away with it, it's as simple as that, there are a lot of bad people out there. Of course it's about 'tidewater' when they are questioned, but he repeats the lie over and over without saying that word, happily knowing that after more than a decade of lying about Harper people want to believe that he was evil and incompetent, they happily welcome the opportunity to find more reason to believe it. Most of the media is happy to let them believe it, want them to even. The score is 5-2 Harper for approvals, 4-0 for constructed, they all mater, but the truth is inconvenient, the lies will have to do. So let me question you, are the approvals and constructed numbers you quoted 'to tidewater'?
