I'm curious as to what changes will come from this:

More body armour and increasingly reactionary/ harsh police methods?

Less or more gun control?

Will the "establishment" start to punish the "bad apple" cops as a way to appease this vigilante/terrorism?

This terrorism or vigilantism or whatever you want to call it isn't because of a few cops making mistakes. It's because of aggressive anti-police propaganda from groups like BLM. Think of it as the domestic version of ISIS, spewing venom and hate, trying to pretend that there's justice in killing innocent people, convincing their community that cops are hunting them down to kill them, that there's a 'war on blacks' and causing already unstable individuals to think they can be righteous defenders of their communities by killing cops. Only in the case of BLM instead of a high profile campaign on social media like their fellow travelers from ISIS they're aided and abetted by the mainstream media, which loves to pump up the volume on things like this so it can get some good riots and blood on the news.

Tomorrow could be serious as the Republican party-convention begins in Cleveland and the New Black Panthers are coming to protest. Things could easily escalate out of control.

Right on... The should be labeled a domestic terrorism org. There are no excuses for executing people who are the thin blue line between us, law/order and chaos. They don't care about black lives at all, only about how many lives they can take.

Yes...could be almost as bad as the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Could be a lot worse. Illinois didn't allow people to carry assault rifles to protests.

Apparently the security has a new gadget that will breakup any group...its a sort of sound machine that they say humans can't stand the high pitch and will run away from it.

The only way this stops is for there to be justice for people who feel that the police can kill unarmed persons with impunity.

Yea, if only 'hands up, don't shoot' had resulted in a false conviction of the officer in question you and others could "feel" like justice had been done.

That's what we need, more lies resulting in wrongful convictions of police officers so the likes of people with utterly broken ideologies and world views like you can feel satisfied justice was done, insane.

So should the police be labelled a domestic terrorism org?

And in what way has the behaviour of police caused you to make such an inane suggestion?

The walk around with deadly weapons and in so many instances fail to follow the rule of law, intimidating people, especially those of darker skin colours?

The police enforce the laws we create. Would you have them do otherwise? Most of those they 'intimidate' are criminals. If you're terrorized by police it's because you're a criminal or fundamentally stupid.

A few nights ago...late...I hear the sounds of an automatic weapon being fired in the farrrr distance...probably in THAT neighbourhood. Firing into the air? Who knows? The sirens start....I go back to sleep.

There's a lot of black people (and others) who have done nothing who have been shot and killed by police.

The job of police is, yes, to enforce the laws we create. The ones that don't follow protocol and the law and use their badge as an excuse to power trip are bastards and need to be stopped. Police forces aren't trained adequately in certain areas, and there's a huge lack of oversight over their power. Some police break the law all the time and terrorize the populace.

Here's just one small example of cop terrorizing a citizen (a kid!) and assaulting them in an unlawful way just because they think they can get away with it (thanks to cellphones, this one didn't!). Fortunately the cop was fired by the dept. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4xjaWjipZs

Define "a lot". My perception is there are very, very few black people or others who have 'done nothing' but been killed by police.

As I wrote earlier, there are at best one case I'm aware of where a person who was not a criminal and not in any way resisting arrest were killed by police. That is the Castile case.

Even if you put together all the cases of Blacks killed by police who were not armed it's still a handful compared to the tremendous number of interactions between the 750,000 police and the Black community in the US in a given year.

The ones that don't follow protocol and the law and use their badge as an excuse to power trip are bastards and need to be stopped.

I agree, but I don't see that as happening as much as you seem to think it does. Certainly none of the recent cases of police shooting has involved police 'power tripping'.

Shooting on-duty police officers is probably felony murder 99.9% of the time. The same cannot be said for "murders" of citizens by law enforcement regardless of race. Citizens "power trip" and kill each other a lot more than police officers.

Maybe he thought the kids were laughing at his funny little car and the silly shorts he was wearing. He was probably expecting to be issued an armoured assault vehicle and Darth Vader suit.

Yes, beat the shyte out of someone while yelling "stop resisting" and you have your excuse.

There are two problems with police.

  1. The training - assume they want to kill you so kill them first
  2. The thin blue line - support the dirty cop, always

I think these problems are far worse than the individual cop who makes a mistake, or even the very few bad cops

No, the "excuse" comes way before the beating. Get with the program or get legally beaten.
