So the 10,000 plus people that are testing positive in Florida are all from LTC homes?

Not young people partying?

The leftist dolts want increased testing, and then when you do increased testing it looks like a bazillion people have covid, then they freak out that there are a lot of cases.

Over 99% of the infected people survive.

Partying shouldn't be allowed but looting should, right? As per the Obamas and CNN?

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

Yes and the Curve was flatted. And in most Developed nations the rate has stayed low. Not so in the US.

Rates are going up exponentially again. The only way to get control of the situation is another Shutdown.

No shutdown is coming.

More deaths are unavoidable.    Re-opening the economy is not.

Close down your economy if you want, but you will still have people dying from COVID and related collateral impacts.

Welcome to COVID-19....it is here to stay for a while.

The US is the only First World country that can't seem to get the number of cases under control.

You test people that are sick. Lots of sick people in the US.

Cite the 99% figure. Is it Trump saying 99% of the cases are harmless? Because that was a lie.

Tell that to Republican Governors that have stopped selling alcohol in indoor facilities. Because of COVID.

Yeah look at that curve. Germany is out of control!

Outbreaks don't mean it's out of control. If your case load is low enough, contact tracing can be done to contain an outbreak.

When you're getting multiple states reporting 5-10k cases a day, it's pretty tough to contact trace.

Asked whether cases that don’t result in death are “harmless,” White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said: “The president was noting the fact that the vast majority of Americans who contract coronavirus will come out on the other side of this.”

Shutdown damage numbers keep coming in, and the meter is still running.

It's mostly damaging because the desire to keep the economy operating according to the basic assumptions and precepts from the Before Times is so strong.  Take the inherent attitude for example that protecting society or mitigating the economic hardship of COVID-19 is negatively and grudgingly cast as a handout and a bailout that more befits the cowardliness associated with 'hiding in your basement' for example.

Amongst the many socioeconomic cracks and omissions COVID-19 has an ability to make obvious is the fact there's never been any real public discussion or consensus developed around the idea that economics should trump virtue just an unspoken assumption that it must, at all costs because anything that deviates from that leads unfailingly to authoritarianism, fascism communism and greater deaths and destruction.  Its ridiculous.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

That doesn't mean harmless. Lots of harm can happen if you're hospitalized for an extended period.

Totally wrong. People get tested voluntarily. You don't have to be sick.

It was not a lie. You're lying [shocker]. The infected death rate is at 1.4% now. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-death-rate/

Quote

Infection Fatality Rate (23k / 1.7M = 1.4% IFR)

Actual Cases with an outcome as of May 1 = estimated actual recovered (1,671,351) + estimated actual deaths (23,430) = 1,694,781.

Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) = Deaths / Cases = 23,430 / 1,694,781 = 1.4% (1.4% of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have a fatal outcome, while 98.6% recover).

My bad, I thought that the 'official' survival rate was a bit over 99%, it's 0.4% higher than that, but it is likely lower because so many people get infected but no one knows about it.

Still the survival rate is 99% (98.6).

No, it is self evident.   Trump instinctively understands this.

Sure. Just for shits and giggles. But then you get a positivity rate of under 1% like in Canada.

In parts of the US it's up to like 20%.

And if Hospitals get overwhelmed the Death rate spikes. Happened in Italy, Spain and New York. Texas, Arizona and Florida are going down that path.

Yeah except when the the many all become sick, the economy can't be all that good.

Semantics. Trump told you specifically what he meant by the term through his spokesperson.

We're aware of your opinion. Now I'll give you mine. People only seem to be dying at a rate similar to the flu.

And being hospitalized at that rate too? I don't think so.

We've already established that Hospitalization is spiking.

More nonsense....the U.S. economy has contracted less than Canada's, where you think COVID has been "controlled".

President Trump only has a few cards to play, and that includes the economy and police.

Yes, hospitalization is spiking. As you were told previously that's not necessarily with covid cases.

Would be interesting to see the stats. If you can't find them that would be because somebody doesn't want you to know.

I'll take your word for it. That comes at the cost of way more sick people. How's that going to effect the economy going forward?

How many people that got their job back in early June have been sent back to unemployment?

So you're just guessing.

You said Elective surgeries. Which wouldn't effect ICU Beds.

Take your own media's word for it.   Whining about COVID does not bring back jobs.

The damage caused by the shutdown wasn't just 'economic hardship'. There are suicides, deaths from increased alcoholism, divorces, incidences of domestic abuse and other serious issues associated with 'economic hardship'. Those lives are no less valuable than the covid deaths. There is also going to be economic hardship for future generations as a result of debt amassed during covid.

Future generations will call us snowflakes for racking up catastrophic debt for a really bad flu season, and they'll marvel at the hypocrisy of the leftists who acted like covid was a pandemic of biblical proportions who simultaneously jumped to discredit possible, affordable solutions.

You want a shutdown because you think it will make the POTUS look bad. Boohoo. Just more evidence that your heart is in the wrong place. This discussion is for people who actually care about human lives.
