My personality Is quite different from the mainstream so I do not expect women from the mainstream to behave like me. You are making a choice, and informing us all of your greatness for making that choice, but what you don't seem to realize is that other Canadians will also be put into the same situations that you are so blissfully unaware/unafraid of. Or the fact that "Mpderate Muslims" in Canada are already trying to get some forms of Sharia implemented. Or the fact that we are supposed to be bringing 35,000 muslims into Canada from THE area where Islamic State is strongest? Or the laws that are still in effect in modern-day countries that are so full of moderate muslims. Islamophobia isn't based on bigotry or whatever you want to call it, it's based on distant history, recent history and everything in between. It's based on the fact that Islam is only ever spread by the sword - these guys don't just wear suits and pester you on Sunday morning. It's based on absolutely everything that we know from seeing how large groups of muslims operate. Go ahead and find us some nice stories about how countries with large groups of Muslims welcome people with different beliefs. Not just temporarily, as workers who are building their oilfields and bringing in technology, but as equal citizens. I dare you to go to Saudi Arabia, or any other Muslim country of your choice, and walk around for a day dressed like a Roman Catholic nun, or dress in the clothes that you wore to work on Friday. Come back and share with us your wonderful stories of welcome and inclusion by Muslims. It should be remembered by ALL that before 9-11, Madrid, London, Bali etc....Islam was generally thought of as a quaint medieval desert religion by Westerners. Sure, the Israelis/Jews had problems with Islam...but the Jews have problems with a lot of things...being the overall consensus. But, to myself and I'm sure many others, A 1001 Arabian Nights was about as close as one got. There was no Islamophobia. Islam earned everything happening today. Including our scorn.
