Just as religious folks through out statements simply based out of fear

You're now going to follow that irrelevant issue.....which will derail this topic about ISLAM!

So I bid you bye-bye.

Thank you though, for proving my point that western feminists can't remain focused long enough on an issue.

That's a bizarre response. Elaborate?

Who just said, Betsy,

"Some folks recklessly make ignorant remarks.....thinking smugly that they'd just given something profound".

It dosn't matter whether you're an anti-God or not.  Your remark is irrelevant.

"Irrelevant"? because it disagrees with your stance? You have just bolstered that narrow mindedness I spoke of. Thanks Betsy.

Major hypocrisy from you, Omni. You have described yourself, AGAIN! You and Betsy have a great deal in common.

I told you that you and Betsy have a lot in common and you leap to the fore to illustrate it.

Christians, pseudo christians are attacking Muslims all based on false witness. What commandment does that break?

Ehhh?  I can't resist this mind-boggler.  What kind of twisted logic is that?  confused-smiley-emoticon.gif

It's not like as if you three, are the only ones who ever respond here.

What happened to....."if you don't like the responses, then just ignore?"

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say.  I'm pointing out the flaw in your response.  So, bye-bye again.

BUT the problem is.......

WESTERN FEMINISTS - like some folks here - are lost, and so confus

Watching them  fight for  feminist issues like abortion - mouthing off the mantra, "it's my body" - and yet at the same time defending Islamists from getting criticized and mocked, is ............quite a sight to behold.

It's not confusing at all, betsy:

We defend freedom of choice.

Kids know whatever their parents tell them, unfortunately.

But adults learn from experience. I mean, nobody ever told me a thing about Chinese or Arabs or Muslims or Hindus and the like when I was a child. My first experience in life with anyone not white was with a Lebanese guy in grade seven. I didn't know he WAS a Lebanese guy. I just knew he was a dick and I didn't like him. His being Lebanese was not relevant to that. His buddy was blonde and he was a dick too.

There will always be true racists. There always have been. I'm not sure why. I don't really grasp why so many people have such an issue with Jews, for example. There seems no sensible reason for it (other than those weird Hasidim, of course). But most of what the progressives like to call 'racism' today is nothing of the sort. It's a dislike/discomfort/disapproval based on experience, knowledge and judgement.

So they try to brainwash kids as much as possible into that 'we are the world' sort of thinking, where all people and cultures are the same, but kids grow up, and that sort of nonsense only works on the weak-minded.

There are efforts for western and islamic feminists to come together. It's an evolving process with mistakes and gains made along the way. I'm quite positive things are progressing for Muslim women around the world. Certainly not fast enough but there is progress.

Do you regard Linda Sarsour as an Muslim feminist?

It's when you take that dislike of a particular person and try to apply it to the whole culture the person you don't like belongs to that it becomes racism/xenophobia.

Omni is right, and my "experience, knowledge and judgement" of you here on mlw is that you have made the leap from personal dislike  to xenophobia toward all people of entire cultures/races/religions.

I am curious how many people of different ethnicities you personally disliked before you made the leap to xenophobia against them all. ??

I have called him out for that a time or two here, as a result I have been put on his ignore list. Tells ya something right there I think.

Well, since in my judgement you are not a serious person, and are way out there on the far fringes of the far left, as well as a believer in conspiracy theories, I'm afraid I don't take your opinion of me or anything else very seriously.

I don't talk about races other than in the context of the observable group characteristics of a minority within ours, ie, blacks, or natives or asians. My judgement of other individual cultures and religions is based upon the overall behaviour of the people who belong to those cultures and religions. I'm quite content this is far more sensible, logical, and intelligent than your shrill and vindictive extremism.

Uh, what choice do Muslim women have?   We even have clear examples here in Canada  - the father who killed his three daughters :

'You have no place in civilised society': Muslim family jailed for life after 'despicable' honour killing of three teen daughters who dared to date boys

  • Father, mother and son found guilty of murdering family's three teenage daughters
  • The girls defied strict rules by dating, socialising and going online
  • Bodies found submerged in car in canal

True, so clearly there are parents who are teaching their kids not to be racist.  That's a good thing, no?

Of course.

Who teaches them to screech?
