I've heard that said before and it seemed a bit far-fetched but that clip was an interesting compilation. A lot of Trump's friends have come forward saying this is not the man they know and given the long-standing friendship with the Clintons and the over-the-top rhetoric, I suppose it's plausible that he's in cahoots with Clinton.

Another point of view (I think Limbaugh pointed it out in the Summer) is based on his approach to business, from his own (nearly 30 old) book......in a negotiation he would start from what most consider an insane position and then bargain down to what he actually wanted, versus making what he actually wanted known first, and bargaining down from that.

In addition, much of his business "success" is attributed to grandiose hype surrounding all things "Trump"....people know who he is, good and bad. Likewise, because of said hype, Trump has little overhead associated with advertising, verses say what you or I would have to spend opening a new Hotel/resort/Casino. To put this in context of his current run for office, to date, he's spent little over $5 million dollars and hardly a cent on advertising......And why would he need to when everything he says is repeated over and over in the media.........

Not as different as Snopes tries to paint it. It's factually true, not "mixed" as they put in their header.

From their own article quoting Carter:

It's exactly the same thing -- temporarily stop the influx a certain demographic so that you can manage a current threat that demographic might pose (real or imagined).

The thing I'm not getting is why people are conflating religion and nationality under 'demographic'.

'Cuban' and 'black' are demographics but the US can ban immigrants from Cuba without a moral outcry.

The whole idea is nonsensical. I mean, what are you going to do? Tattoo a yellow six-pointed star on somebody's forearm so you can identify their religion?

What if somebody decides to convert to Islam? Should they just go deport themselves? If somebody decides to leave Islam, can they get themselves removed from the tracking database by going to a DMV center and eating a bacon double cheeseburger in front of witnesses?

If somebody wants to enter America but you're not sure if they're a Muslim, how are you going to test them? If somebody wanted to enter America for bad-guy reasons, would you expect them to be truthful about their religious beliefs?

The whole idea is nonsensical and is just something Trump came up to appeal to the dumb-guys and racists who are driving his campaign success.

Lindsey Graham is so far behind the leaders in the Republican race that he would need the Hubble Telescope to see them. He's a complete non-factor. But he had a couple of memorable blasts about Trump this week:

On Trump's plans for dealing with ISIS:

"You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell," Graham said on CNN's "New Day" on Tuesday, picking up on the GOP front-runner's famous slogan, "make America great again."

"He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot," Graham told Alisyn Camerota. "He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represents the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for. ... He's the ISIL man of the year."

"What Mr. Trump is doing -- and I don't think he has a clue about anything. He's just just trying to get his numbers up and get the biggest reaction he can," Graham said. "He is helping the enemy of this nation. He is empowering radical Islam. And if he knew anything about the world at all, you would know that most Muslims reject this ideology."

Graham said that what the U.S. needs to do is embrace the "99%" of Muslims who reject radical, violent extremism and have died "by the thousands" trying to fight it, and it needs to invest in the Middle East and giving people and women opportunity there.

"That's how you win the war. A hopeful life versus a glorious death. And what Mr. Trump is doing is undercutting everything we stand for," Graham said. "Going to a military high school, Donald, is not military service. You've never worn the uniform. ... So knock it off. You're putting people at risk."

On why Donald Trump is leading this race:

“Well there’s about 40% of the Republican primary voter who believes that Obama was born in Kenya and is a Muslim,” Graham said on Boston Herald Radio on Friday. “There’s just a dislike for President Obama that is visceral. It’s almost irrational.”

“I could promise you this, he’s not gonna win 270 electoral votes,” Graham said, citing Trump’s inability to grow the vote with the Hispanic community.

“I can promise you that Hillary Clinton will clean his clock,” he added.

Those are probably the words of a guy who has realized he has no shot at winning, and has run out of patience with the dumb-guy wing of the party.

Agreed...it is the same idea. Contrary to popular belief, a U.S. president has wide, legal discretion to ban any foreigner from entering the United States, for any reason, including religion. President Carter was no exception, and he still received the Nobel Peace Prize.

About 30000, most of them have arrived during the past three months. With family reunions following soon you can multiply that figure hy 4-5. Namely these fake refugees who have travelled through Europe through 8-10 countries, all of which perfectly safe, just to claim asylum in Finland.

None of them has any basis whatsoever to be here and should be deported to the previous safe country which is in most cases Sweden.

That is what would happen if we didn't have a government of quislings who are filling their pockets with the income from the lucrative asylum seeker-business. Mark my words, we are heading for a civil-war in this country. That may sound exaggerating today but events have moved so fast that nothing surprises.

I'm guessing this is more about convenience you are referring to (like how to skip notices given you have to scroll through matter you find bothersome on a 2 inch cell phone screen.] We already have the natural capacity to opt out of those we find distasteful without a need for an app for that. I am only worried that should we enhance means to censure material better, we could miss significant and relevant news by things we DO need to pay attention to.

I agree to the sentiment but from personal experience of one friend I knew in the past, this literally can be a 'bitch'. She had a severe reactionary impulse to partially choke herself using her lapels of her shirt (and always would wear a button blouse that enabled her to do this) due to real insecurities caused by an abusive childhood and eventual mental disorder. I tried to help her and it seemed to be a comfort to the point that she'd begun to relax enough not to do it voluntarily. However, nearly everyone else I knew around my crowd at the time had disapproved of her in such disgrace for her insecurity, ...especially a sister and other female friends...that she only reverted to it with more strength.

And get this too: some of that 'crowd' of mine had their own personal experiences of discrimination to which I couldn't understand why they behaved as bad as they did! Especially, but not only, my sister, which disgusted me considering what she'd represented by others as a strong (but young at the time) woman embracing uncharacteristic qualities of the just the kind Maya Angelou is speaking of here!

I would love to hear reactions about my signature. I have never seen so much attention to a posters signature than mine. It's thrilling and mostly from men!!!
