Guest Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 The OT God was a jealous brute. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Don't get fooled again. I believe the story is the OT and NT god is the same guy. Of course the narrative changes a bit when one happens to be trying to distance themselves from the brutality. "Uh, ask the Jews that's their god. Ours played hacky sack and drove a VW van." Quote

Of course the narrative changes a bit when one happens to be trying to distance themselves from the brutality. "Uh, ask the Jews that's their god. Ours played hacky sack and drove a VW van." But the Christian God IS a new guy. That's why Christians make no attempt to carry out such punishments as you find in the old testament. Nor do the Jews, for that matter, else they wouldn't have a thriving population of Muslim citizens within Israel proper. Moonlight Graham Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 All countries maneuver for wealth and trade, and the stronger ones use their power to manipulate the weak. That has been the history of the world since there has been a history but no one ever gets blamed for it except the West. Well that's basically true, but don't be surprised when the weaker ones eventually rise up and start rebelling. That's also been a part of history forever. You ignore that the Russians and Chinese and others, including the Pakistanis (who had a large hand in screwing up Afghanistan) have been very active in the ME and the rest of the world, for example, and done everything the West has done and continue to do it. I don't ignore it. It happens, to a lesser extent since they aren't as powerful, but it happens. And the Russians have been attacked by Islamic terrorists for it. The Russians have been in the pockets of every dictator the world over since WW2, especially in the middle east, just as they are propping up the Syrians now, and Sudan (along with China), and supplying Iran with weapons and nuclear know-how. Russia has only ever been the victim of one terrorist attack that I'm aware of, excluding the home grown variety, and that was the plane allegedly blown up, allegedly by ISIS, on its way to Egypt. The Egyptians continue to say there was no bomb traces found, though. dre Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Christians have no problems finding words in the New Testament that can be easily interpreted to repudiate the various bizarre mandates in the Old Testament. DogOnPorch Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 God's laws have been changed via new testament ect. You tell us. You are the expert. Yes as they rejected Muhammad as being the next Moses. So he made his own religion...just to show 'em. He ended-up beheading the works....murdered Jewish poets...all sorts of peaceful Jew-loving stuff. They are cursed to be as apes and pigs despised by Allah. So Antisemitism is built right into Islam. No gettin' rid of it, even...as the Quran is the perfect, unalterable word of Allah. God's laws have been changed via new testament ect. Etc...actually. I quoted the Bible, thanks. Goddess Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Sharia Law trumps human rights as devised by humans. The Quran is perfect. Humans are fallible. Such adoration. Allah must be quite proud of you. Actually, what Dog said is true. 57 Islamic states united in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation rejected the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that views all people as equal and free. They replaced it with the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam (CDHRI) that views people as neither free nor equal. Their declaration limits the right to freedom of religion according to what Sharia permits. Women have less rights than men, as do non-Muslims than Muslims. Slavery is allowed, it is still not abolished in Islam. Human rights in Islam are almost non-existent and the most barbaric punishments are implemented against women and non-Muslims. The majority of Muslims polled want this.
