Topaz Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 The second important poll would be the GTA because after all, that is the area that will chose the Premier. Will Oakville and Mississauga still vote Liberal or go NDP to lower hydro bills?? Quote
PIK Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Hudak did better then I or anyone else thought he would do. Wynne was a absolute disaster and andrea did better then she is credited for IMO. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
Big Guy Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 What is the criteria to decide who "wins" or "loses" a debate - especially a political debate? I thought that the intention was to explain your platform. I have been uncomfortable with the process for years since the debate format first began. I guess in this age of celebrity it is important to be able to account yourself in front of the TV cameras but does it say anything about platform and character? Now I see where there are professional services available for people to learn how to "have a good interview". Seems that presentation is becoming more important than substance. Since I have already voted I have no dog in this race. I also do not look at elections as a lose or win situation. Whoever gets the most votes during this provincial election will be the new Premier and I will accept him/her as our new leader. That is our process. As an aside, I believe that minority governments are the "best" governing templates for our kind of democracy and hope that we end up with one. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
jacee Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 I think that's a good summary PIK. And this: Hudak won debate but may not win election http://m.thespec.com/news-story/4556792-hudak-won-debate-but-may-not-win-election-poll-says/ the consensus among pundits and politicos was that Horwath and Hudak bested Wynne, and re the great Hudak platform meltdown: Even though the Tory leader on Tuesday night promised to resign if he failed to keep his promises, 69 per cent said the million jobs' pledge is not credible with 27 per cent saying it's believable and 5 per cent unsure. But does it matter?? We don't believe hudak's million job plan so we should let the most corrupted government ever stay in power or the NDP which kept them in power. Shady Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 It's looking like a Conservative minority government. Which is probably for the best, because I'm not that fond of Hudak, but he's the lesser of 3 evils. Quote
TimG Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 It's looking like a Conservative minority government. Which is probably for the bestNot if the Libs and NDP form a coalition as the 2&3 place parties. A Conservative majority is the only hope Ontario has for a return to sanity. Quote

Argus Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Looks like all the pc have left is their die hard loyal voters now. All three parties are lying. So what else is new? Which of them will cut spending and the deficit? Clearly, if you care about that, it's the Tories. Which will raise taxes and spending? Clearly, the Liberals and NDP. If you want to have more goodies and stick your kids with the bill, they're the parties for you. I seriously doubt that any of the leaders picked up any new dedicated voters WWWTT IMO Hudak did from what I am hearing. Hudak is the only one with a plan and he showed that last nite. Nobody else said how they were going to pay off the deficit. And paying 12w b to service the debt is not a good debt. You really are trying to fine something good out of this for the liberals and you are failing , just like wynne did last nite. Her safe hands were not looking to safe .
