So it's official then ? We can circumvent forum rules with "wheel of retards" or other such generalized insults for politicians ? Or does this only apply to American politicians ? Moderators, can we get a ruling on this please ?

That's what it seems like. However, the exception only seems to be in regards to republicans or conservatives. If its not one of those, then forum rules must be followed!!! I figured I'd test out the double standard with the obvious democrat retards that congress is lousy with. We'll see what happens.

The derogatory form of "retard" has fallen out of usage as politically incorrect, except when it suits an ideological agenda I guess. The mentally disabled certainly do not appreciate such contemptuous usage.

Yep, it's all part of the vicious hypocrisy of leftwingers in general, as well as the ones that occupy this forum. Attacking republicans and conservatives gives them an excuse to say and do things they'd otherwise condemn.

Christie has a bit of a reputation for getting revenge on people who cross him, so it wouldn't exactly be out of character.

But supposing Christie didn't order this attack on Fort Lee, and his staffers hatched the plan on their own, what was their motive?

You know one of the most frequent motives for employees to do things? They want to impress the boss.

I agree but I'd say this understates the issue. In organizations, attitudes and behavioral norms flow from the top. Christie's top people evidently believed that Christie was OK with this type of behaviour. How did they come to this conclusion?

For Christie to say he accepts responsibility is a good start but it's only a start. He needs to examine how the behaviour was allowed to happen and what he will do to prevent it in the future. Saying that he was "humiliated" is a lame attempt to portray himself as a victim - a notion that should be rejected out of hand.

And as for Harper, well, someone needs to tell him that finger-pointing isn't leadership.

Unlimited economic growth has the marvelous quality of stilling discontent while preserving privilege, a fact that has not gone unnoticed among liberal economists.

It is bad whether Christie was directly involved or simply created a workplace where such actions are considered acceptable.

Yet - most of the people complaining completely ignored Obama's slime ball tactics during the shutdown where privately operated parks were shutdown in order to maximize inconvenience for the taxpayers. Why is this behavior acceptable but Christie's is not?

Or back when during Chrysler bailout Obama threatened IRS audits of bondholders if they did not accept much less than they would get in bankruptcy in order to payoff Obama's union friends. Wasn't that gross abuse of the power of the office?

Yeah, but it's Obama. So it's ok.

We'll see what happens.

So what happened?

Let me guess. Nothing, and you came to the realization that your conservative victimization was all in your head.

The jokers on MSNBC are up in arms over this.Without a doubt,it was a cheap and petty stunt.I have to wonder where all the outrage is over the Obama scandals?

This is normally the kind of cheap and petty stunt that FOX News would put on heavy rotation, and it reveals an arrogance and a perception by Christie that he isn't accountable.

I've caught Obama criticism on MSNBC before... what Obama 'scandals' are you referring to? Surely not those manufactured by Fox News, right? Surely not all that to do about the Ben Ghazzi guy!

It seems to me there is enough evidence floating around the shows Christie's complicity in "bridgegate" to ever shake it off before next election. Now then does anybody want to weigh in on, between him and Rob Ford, who provides the most fodder for the late night comedy boys?
