Exactly. You have to remember that the right-wing vote would even still vote for Rob Ford, even after he too exploited his office for nefarious purposes.

But Christie did no such thing. So you're comment regarding the so-called "right wing" is moot.

Right, and if you hate government and therefore want to burn down post offices as any red blooded Republican should, then it should make your blood boil...

But I am not a Republican nor do I hate government. The inner workings are limited by the quality of individuals and their motives regardless of process integrity. Look at the Senate dust up over a measely $90K in the provinces.

Gov. Christie can certainly survive this if he wants to pursue higher office. It's not like he sexually harrassed a state employee in an Arkansas hotel room while a state trooper guarded the door.

So to use an American analogy - it doesn't matter if your Happy Meal contains 3 insect parts or 3 million. America still has one of the most corruption-free governments in the world, but things rot from the top down so all of us should brush our teeth regularly, not just after eating McDonalds.

You don't think that was nefarious? I think the rest of the world believes it is, but I guess some people don't mind it when politicians create traffic jams for political purposes.

I assume, however, you aren't so naive as to believe he knew nothing, given the nature of the email and how the message to implement the traffic chaos was understood with minimal communication. That speaks to the culture of the office it came from.

That would certainly end somebody's chances at office quicker than if they were caught on film smoking crack !

If that be the case, then America plays too large a role in your universe. Work on that first before worrying about what may roll down hill. Expending so much wasted energy on loving President Obama's hope has left precious little to hate PM Harper for 2015.

It almost ended the chance, but only after the fact. She just needed to put some ice on it.

See...you find it strange as well. That completes today's lesson. Ignore America if you can.

I'm talking about your own assessment of your government as posted above. That's why I brought it up. I will take away any lessons I can for my own situation. That's why I used the analogy of insect hairs and McDonalds - to put it in language you understand. If you were Canadian I would have used beaver hairs and Tim Hortons.

I'm not worrying about it, I'm reading the tea leaves, or t-paper as it were. I hate Harper as much as I love him or love or hate Obama - a big zero, which is a Dunkin Donut to you...

I appreciate the translation effort, but beaver hairs and Timmy's are not hard to understand...America has both. Government will never meet your ideals or expectations, and it was never design to do so. Not even with a Queen.

I didn't say it wasn't nefarious. But yes, I do believe he knew nothing. Either way it's a good strategy to employ. It seems to have worked well for Obama.

I don't think it matters either way....getting any and all dirt out in the open early in the cycle has proven to be a good strategy. That why the best attacks are timed as "October surprises". Let's see how well Hillary handles remnants of Benghazi ("What difference does it make !!")

and Harper to, hey? As much as Christie is placing blame on his staff, he's also doing 2 things you never saw Harper do during the throes of his 'Senate scandal'. Harper never stepped up to accept accountability for failed Senate appointees or what his office was responsible for/involved in... and Harper has yet to apologize to Canadians for anything. Alternatively, Christie stepped up and accepted responsibility/accountability for his staff... for "allowing conditions" to exist within his administration such that his staff actually thought their actions were warranted/appropriate. And, yes, unlike Harper, Christie apologized.

It will be tough for him to win the nomination now.

It shows that he is either incompetent and/or vindictive or hires people who are. Either way, his leadership and character are very much in question.

All things considered, I'd much rather see Chris Christie win the nomination than a freak like Ted Cruz or the next flavor of the month from the Tea Party's Roulette Wheel of Retards.

Unless they find a proverbial "smoking gun" that proves Christie knew what his flunkies were up to, I don't think this means the end of his presidential aspirations. It will certainly give his future opponents a lot of ammo, though.

It will all come down to how credible his denial is. The New Jersey state legislature has been digging into this issue for months, and Chris Christie has been mocking the accusations of political motives behind this for months. "I was working the cones myself," he laughed at one point. It's hard to imagine that this issue has been in the news for several months without Chris Christie once mentioning it to either his chief of staff or his personal friend at the Port Authority. He's asking us to believe that his flunkies came up with this idea on their own without telling him, and then lied directly to him about what actually transpired. How likely does that seem? I suspect that peoples' answer will probably depend on how much they like Chris Christie to start with.

I have a hard time coming up with a motive as to why Christie would go along with such a scheme. A popular governor, not to mention former New Jersey state attorney, up 30 points in his re-election campaign would have no logical reason for doing so. He may be fat, rude, and straight forward, but he's not stupid.

I think that even if this scandal sticks, and its proven he knew about it or planned it, he will STILL likely be the nominee. Hes the only interesting and compelling personality in the game. The bigger question is what independants will think about this in the general election.

the Tea Party's Roulette Wheel of Retards.

After Rob Ford, US politics seems kind of blah.

I would have worded it somewhat differently.

The wording is fine. I refer to Obama as a retard on a regular basis. Even more so in regards to the biggest retard, Joe Biden. I think that's where the term going full retard came from.

Your faith in right wing politicians is soooo adorable!!! You probably believe Harper didn't know and Ford only smoked crack once, right?

But I guess faith is what right wingers are all about. Faith in God in the absence of any evidence that s/he exists. Faith in markets in spite of the fact that they produce erratic, random results. And faith that right wing liars must be telling the truth.

Good for you!! I admire your loyalty!

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. I don't know what Harper knew. I'm not a mind reader. I don't care how many times Ford has smoked crack in his life, just like I don't care how many times Justin has smoked marijuana. I'm not reilgious, so I don't have any faith in God. Perhaps it's time you used some critical thinking, instead of relying on your preconcieved notions and stereotypes. As for the markets, markets are just people making their own choices as to which goods and services they'd like to participate in. I hope that helps. :)

Didn't you say you thought Justin Trudeau should resign for smoking marijuana?
