Did this get brought up in Parliament at all?

I should say that the potentials for an amphibious assault are quite high, but I'm not sure how this pertains to Russias Naval base in Syria....

NATO forces were training on mountain storming in Albania and there seems to be a taskforce deployed off Syria.

Some what of the same as the Libya scenario.. there appears to be what 3000 troops of Anglo French capacities..

http://www.dailymail...o=feeds-newsxml

seems rather small considering syria's military size.

This while chemical weapons stores are reported by the Western Press as headed to Aleppo..

http://www.debka.com...s-toward-Aleppo

It seems 10,000 NATO Troops are already assembled.

http://hamsayeh.net/...-in-turkey.html

infowars report the invasion is immenent.

http://www.infowars....syria-imminent/

NATO Advisors (atleast the French) are already within Syria.

The US is due on Wednesday to recognize a "rebel movement" as the official government of Syria. (France has already done so)

If Iran's leadership holds to their statements, an attack on Syria would draw Iran to get involved, which would draw Israel into it, because Iran says it will fire its ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv if Nato attacks Syria.

It seems highly likely an attack by Iran on Israel would be a red line for the US, which would likely bring the gulf into "open war"

Which will probably increase the price of oil (at the very least), and I geuss gold too..

Anyone have thoughts on this?

(gb = sarin) (no special protective clothing...)

syrias supposed VX..

If NATO asks for assistance, the federal government is ready to deploy the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit, which handles chemical, biological and radioactive attacks.

Canada will also send a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to provide clean water in Syria, as well as engineers and staff who can help set up a field hospital.

This is going to war?

This is going to war?

It is the waterboying of war but it is war.

http://en.wikipedia....t_Response_Unit

It is a sub-unit of the Joint Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defence Company, which in turn forms part of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command.

The JNBCD Company is able to conduct a wider range of operations than the previous NBCRT including both the support of federal departments and supporting international operations for management of NBC emergencies. It maintains an initial response component on a very high readiness posture as part of the National Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Team and can be deployed by road or by air. By garrisoning the JNBCD Company at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario, it is able to benefit from on-site military airlift in time of crisis.

The JNBCD Company is a truly “joint” unit with members coming from the army, navy and air force. It can conduct detection, sampling and identification of the full range of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards, and provide expert advice to incident commanders and senior officials. As a national resource, its employment is coordinated through the Government Operations Centre and authorized by the Minister of National Defence. source: http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/news-nouvelles/news-nouvelles-eng.asp?id=505

You should be pleased to know that by no later than 2017 there will be a NBC response plan functioning in Canada, and potentially by 2015.

Cause what are the chances of the being an NBC issue here in Canada where the NBC and Disaster recovery people are needed for, right?

Plans are wonderful but who is going to be doing the work on the ground? This is also a plan for response in Canada, there is no mention of giving assistance elsewhere and you can't send civilians into war zones to face the same sort of risks as the military, certainly not without their consent.

Yesterday's news that Obama has recognized the Syrian opposition as the legitimate government Syria means that by the end of this year Assad will have been overthrown. Then we will have yet another country governed by the muslim-brotherhood and we will be surprised why they hate the west even though the west brought them democracy. A real de ja vu.

Good. When you mobilize chemical weapons and threaten to use them, you need to be met with swift resistance from the international community.

Sarin really isn't that evil. It is not really much more effectve than a bomb, but it causes less physical damage and low grade shelters won't protect from it.

The bad ones are the stuff US and Russia have in stockpile like VX, and the seriouslly endangering biological weapons

Sarin is just a killer it isn't "dangerous" outside the zone of deployment. GBU bombs are more dangerous.

I'm very skeptical of your by the end of the year timeline. I would say if anything moves it will be atleast 4 months from now if that.

Unless Nato goes in it will continue to be a proxy war for some time. But there appears to be a plan but I would geuss it has to be within the next month or two unless they change up the Naval deployments.

I don't think Turkey has the stomach for it. They are big and they are tough but they are all about beating up on minorities not governments. That is why the chemical weapons were moved to the North, Turkey is the muscle in any invasion and they will get hit with gas if they move in, in force.

Right now Natos deployments in Syria are relatively small in number and in part false flag ops, spec ops. They won't move in regulars until it is convienient to obey the rules of war.

War with Syria = War with Iran

If Turkey goes into Iran, Iran will attack Turkey.

In that type of mega scenario it wouldnot be unthinkable that Russia went in, and China might feel compelled. Which Nato might be down for because it has the flex, but it is not just a simple invasion of Syria. Iran is on the periphrial of the Shanghai 5 group (SCO)

If a "war" occured it would be devastating and felt.

p.s. we've all heard of the wmd schtick before. It would be nice if people learned from history rather than acting with the memory of a goldfish and repeating the same stupid mistakes over and over again every few years.

So you are ok with Syria and Syrian rebels indisciminantly using Sarin, Mustard Gas, and potentially even VX?

Looks like canada can vote now

turkey is calling for an invasion

http://www.wnd.com/2...ttack-on-syria/

the un angle is also tacitfully calling for a prevention of civil war slide..

only problem here is both sides committed war crimes apparently " http://www.theaustra...6-1226545322022 " the chritian incentive, slaughter of christians if islamist rebels win

u.s. accountability act

sovereignty is not a privilege but a responsibility that can be revoked if a country is accused of “war crimes,” “genocide,” “crimes against humanity” or “ethnic cleansing.”

russia has sent another landing ship they say " to evacuate thousands of Russians from Syria if needed"

All of these civil uprisings are being helped by the USA of course. Don't be naive, the US is removing the governments it doesn't want to deal with any more. It's called a proxy war.

I doubt very much that the US will want to deal with whatever finds itself in power in Syria when the dust settles.

And you would be wrong...the U.S. started knocking over these regimes years ago....Canada had nosebleed seats.

What's with the obsession with Canada?

The new regime in Syria is going to be Al Qaeda supporting Islamists. The US is not going to want to deal with them. Unless you mean "deal with them".
