"A Nanos Research survey put support for the Liberals at 30.1 percent, up 5.5 percentage points from a poll by the same firm a month ago, before Trudeau’s announcement. That vaulted them into second place, ahead of the left-leaning New Democrats, the largest opposition party"...

The Liberals have GRASPED 2nd place from the NDP in popularity. We knew this was coming

And the Steve Harper Tories increased in popularity...

Looks like the Tories are indeed the "natural governing party" for Canada..

The Libs will pull seats in QC from the NDP and the Tories will continue with another majority however,,, Stronger..

Call me when we get closer to an election.... Can't really get too excited over these kinds of poll numbers.

Agree about being closer to the election. IMO it will only get better for the Liberals though and if Trudeau winds the leadership we could see the 'second coming'. rolleyes.gif

shouldn'tbe a discredit to him given that the Trudeaus are experts on shit, or merde

I can't wait for the commercials of Trudeau calling a cabinet minister a "piece of shit" over and over and over and over and over again.

Maybe that'll make voters more immune to expletives and more focused on why they're being evoked. But probably not.

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

I'll just wait for the Canadian people to get to know Justin "If Harper is in charge......then Quebec should become its own country" Trudeau before I look at any poll numbers. The man is looking to tear the country apart because that is the only thing the Liberals have to run on. While the Conservatives and NDP are looking to bring this country together and argue over vision the guy who might be the next Liberal leader was out trying to rally the separatists.

Anyone looking to support that guy over the other two should get their heads examined. Canada is a country with Quebec in it and it took 20 years and the Liberals to crash for our political leaders to kill the Bloc. We are better off with out them and the Liberals.

Imagine... people being excited about the Liberals during their leadership campaign. I've never seen anything like it before.

It's exciting! Watching the NDP fizzle and turn into a fart in the wind is telling. People are SWITCHING from the NDP to either the liberals or the Tories! Split voting and another Harper majority.

Mulcair will need to answer to his party..... The media will continue to hype Justin and mark my words.. The trend for the NDP will be in the other direction. And the tories will continue to grow

I can one-up that. Tommy Mulcair, in and effort to pull votes, will announce that he has a life-threatening if not terminal yeast infection.

There is just so many Liberal leadership campaigns on! It's like the NDP leadership campaign but with 3 times as many knives and daggers! And there was Alot in the Ndp's!

Understand that a single poll doesn't make a trend. In fact, since the federal election the Nanos poll have been described as an outlier polls. Ekos, Forum Research, Environics, Abacus, Ipsos Reid, Harris Decima, etc have all been reporting similar number.

It is suggested that the Nanos poll tend to inflate the Libs number while underestimating the NDPs.

Ah, an allusion to Layton's illness, which killed him. Stay classy, bro.'

Seems that the nanos poll was an outlier after all...mostly is. Reason why I said that because multiple polling companies shows similar result with Nanos being the odd one outside of the norm.

If the NDP want to be a federal party that wants to bring the country together better scrap thier sherbrooke thing about 50+1. That tells me they are only a quebec party run by separtists.

You never really know until closer to an election when a lot of polls have been done. No one was expecting the Tories to win a majority in the last election. Polls aren't always as accurate as people would like to think.

Incorrect. Close to the election - the day before - 4 polls were released they were pretty close. A smallish majority was considered within the realm of likely.

When will you people learn that when I speak it's always 100% correct? Lol. You may be right. No one was calling for a sweep of the 905 like that, at least I don't remember it and no one was calling for the destruction of the Liberals like that either.

Mulcair is a federalist.

Then it is time for him to stand up for canada , to fight to keep it united ,not give up at 50 + 1.
