cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I like that a notification pops up when there's a new post in the thread too. Very nice. Quote
cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Now the question is, do the images scale or will it break threads when people post giant ones? edit: They scale! That's good. Edited October 9, 2012 by cybercoma Quote
eyeball Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 What's this warning point business all about? I see I have two. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Boges Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 What's this warning point business all about? I see I have two. Me too. It's like a permanent record of times when we've pissed off the mods. Quote
eyeball Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I notice I can see my warnings but not your's. I wonder how many points you get before they pull your plug? Three strikes your out? Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Shakeyhands Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 looks like we won't be able to add youtube links to our signatures anymore!!!!!! Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Guest American Woman Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Out of curiosity - is this site still funded by the University of Lethbridge? As always, thanks to all who contribute their money and/or time to this site. Edited October 9, 2012 by American Woman Quote

Shakeyhands Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) IS there still a New Post button or whatever it was called? Can't seem to find it? EDIT - Found it! Edited October 9, 2012 by Shakeyhands Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
cybercoma Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I like that it's much more difficult to see ignored posters' posts now too. It makes scrolling past kraychik's posts a heck of a lot easier. Quote
GostHacked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 If I may make a point about chat functions, they tend to take away from discussion on the boards at the forums where I've seen them. I recommend not enabling it, but others will have a different opinion. I am of the same thinking. We've seen the sidebar used for banter, hate to see what transcribes in a chat session. Quote

GostHacked Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 The sidebar can be used for "chatting" as "comments" apparently can be added to the status updates now. The threads in the forum can get heated at times, I'd hate to see what people post in heats of the moments type things. Insta-ban. I'll stay away from the chat if it's enabled. Quote

Insta-ban. I'll stay away from the chat if it's enabled. I've no desire to use the chat feature myself, and wonder if it would be 'anything goes;' I would hope that it's not a way around the rules of the forum, where people could say whatever they want about others. At any rate, I think it ultimately turns a forum into a chat room - cutting down on the number of posts. Quote

Guest Manny Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Bah. All ignore features should be removed, IMO. Clearly a leftist phenomenon. Quote

TheNewTeddy Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 LOL, I have a warning because someone posted a news story that sounded like pure BS, but then produced a link proving it was true - so I used the F word in utter shock. Guest American Woman Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I just discovered I'll never have to look at people's signatures again. Fistpump. You didn't have to look at them in the old format, either. Quote
The_Squid Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I preferred the old format. No avatars. No chat. No pictures. It looked cleaner. Quote
scribblet Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 What's this warning point business all about? I see I have two. scribblet Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) I preferred the old format. No avatars. No chat. No pictures. It looked cleaner. I prefer no pics and avatars, they are just a distraction, especially huge pictures. I hope they are limited in size, graphics should be very limited in size, they are a pain. Now will have to go to the board settings to see if I can turn them all off, I have signatures turned off allready. Okay, couldn't find where I turn off avatars and graphics, does anyone know ? thanks. Edited October 10, 2012 by scribblet Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
cybercoma Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I also prefer the absence of avatars, but the pics in threads make it nice to post graphs and data. Quote
Black Dog Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I'm just getting used to things, but can't see any major issues beyond the visual clutter of the avatars. They need to go. Quote
