RB Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 I don't know, I don't play them either. But it's pretty obvious to me that they're a lot of fun. yes I can see this. The culture now includes "big men" wanting a man cave for their games. I don't get it. I prefer physical sport to playing these video games for 8 hours straight. In the future we are all going be very lazy like those alien dudes - one very BIG head and no muscle. Quote

socialist Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I don't play video games. they are for children. some of you should get a real hobby like helping the environment. Quote Thankful to have become a free thinker.
Guest Manny Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Boxing is the only video game I like on the Wii. I tried hockey, it sucked. Surfing, not bad (I have the balance board...) And there's some kinda skateboarding too. I want to try the Ninja fighting or perhaps Karate. What I really wish there was, is Judo. But unfortunately there aint. Quote

Guest Manny Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Yeah the only reason I liked it was the controllers. I know the x-box can do that now, but I'm certainly not going to shell out the extra cash. Graphics don't matter too much. THe Wii is cartoonish graphics but the game play with the controllers is good. In fact game consoles like Wii are used in some medical centres as a tool for rehabilitation. I think we have not fully exploited the benefits of good game play with physical activity. Quote

The best thing about it, is that you can tell your xBox to pause when watching Netflix. The Wii U is coming out soon. It's the first Nex-Gen console. The interesting feature is a controller that acts like a tablet. Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted September 28, 2012 Author Report Posted September 28, 2012 The Xbox Kinect isn't that great for compelling gaming. The best thing about it, is that you can tell your xBox to pause when watching Netflix. The Wii and Kinect controllers are a bit flawed, the technology just isn't quite up to its potential yet. But if the holodeck from Star Trek is the end goal for all video gaming & interactive entertainment (or something like in Total Recall maybe?), then they're both an evolutionary step towards this. We might not see holodeck technology in my lifetime but it will be amazing to see what video games are like a few decades from now. dre Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 I've always been exclusively a PC gamer, never owned a console game system of any sort. Most recent game I've been playing is Diablo 3. Yeah I cant get into consoles. I was a clan FPS gamer, played the quakes, UT Tournament, counterstrike, etc. Console FPS is a joke... no real freelook controller. The play is slow, and sloppy. Jiblethead Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 been playing diablo 3 a lot recently and i must say it is a really disappointing game. Also been playing MW3 on ps3, and again, very disappointing. maybe i should grow up and find something better to do with my free time Quote
kimmy Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 I am playing Borderlands 2 right now. I'm not usually into shoot-em-ups, but I just loved Borderlands, and Borderlands 2 brings back all the things that made the original so fun, including cameos from some of the original cast. -k {"870 bazillion guns... just got bazilliondier!"} Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

GostHacked Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Ol' Morrowind looking rather good with new graphics. Looks interesting. Trying my way through Skyrim, .. visually stunning and characters have some decent voice acting talent behind them .. however little glitches like UI interactions, and collision detection and with certain objects are less than impressive. I should not be able to walk up and bump an ox cart to have it fly across the road. Quote

After being out 7 years, the community has since turned that into something quite unique adding pretty much Data's 'emotion chip' to all the AI with the extended exe. That and about a million 3rd party add-ons...many of which outdo the games main quests by light years. Vilja for example...an AI marvel. She now has a version for Skyrim. blueblood Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Liked the mw series of games that I can finally play online. I'm a sniper and mw3 is not sniper friendly unless your a quickscoper. Many a profanity has been uttered at me because i like to dust people off halfway across the map. Hockey is all right. I do prefer the ps3 over xbox. Played both. I am debating buying a new PC if Rome 2 total war comes out later next year. I'm wondering if it will be available to buy on a Mac because it's PC upgrading time. I don't need a laptop because the iPad does the tablets job. Its really nice looking, but really slow and the collision detection and combat leaves something to be desired. So now instead rummaging through Fallout 3. It's good so far. Quote

TimG Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Yeah...Skyrim just doesn't stack-up to Oblivion which you could mod the living bejeezus out of.I bought all of the Oblivion expansion packs cheap on steam and the downloaded a bunch of mods to give Oblivion a try again. I could not get into it. I liked Skyrim better but the leveling system that requires one to mindlessly repeat actions is a huge turn off in both games. Quote
