  1. people should not participate in wars unless they are willing to die in it http://documentaryheaven.com/attack-of-the-drones/ im sure most of u have heard of wikileaks, its only the tip of the iceberg.
  2. it might also be a good idea to offer perks to the company for hiring the disabled. I believe there may be some out there, not 100% sure. A big problem is incentive. Why would anyone want to work a shitty boring minimum wage job, when they can make the same amount of money for doing nothing at all?
  3. everything in moderation, too much technology is a bad thing, and i think there is currently too much.
  4. Which haircut will win? Obama or Romney?

  5. nothing outstanding about him. In the ethics category, a miserable failure, just another corporate puppet as far as im concerned. but i guess he isnt too bad at handling political bs.
  6. my main concern is people using their handouts for the wrong things. Ive personally seen people using welfare checks and ODSP money on drugs. Spending at least half their handout on drugs. They need to be monitored more, even though it costs more.

  8. YUP
  9. what ever happened to ethics?
  10. Take 5, one of my favorite jazz standards. I dig!
  11. not at all, the industry is unavoidable.
  12. you make a good point about the potential industry built around the profit to be made from killing people. The pharmaceutical industry is already disgusting in the way it over prescribes pills for profit, especially to children. When the parent hears from a doctor this pill will make your life easier, the wrong choice is made far too often
  13. http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/10/05/gloria-taylor-b-c-woman-at-centre-of-assisted-suicide-court-battle-dies/ Quite a touchy issue, all i am going to say is i believe a person, who is of sound mind, has the right to decide when their own life ends.
  14. i was surprised how little attention is given to this problem, the rich bankers have the financial system by the balls. the LIBOR tampering people were fined something around 250 million i believe? sad thing is their networth was said to be in the trillions so it is a drop in the bucket to them god dam 1%ers
  15. just gonna add my 2 cents. God does not exist, to me there is Santa, the easter bunny, and then there is god, allah, etc. it's just hard for people to accept that there are questions we have, which have no answer.
  16. agreed. Even before people first get addicted, making the wrong choice to start using is not always their fault. I watch intervention a lot, and most of the people on the show are using drugs because of horrible things they have had to endure in their lives. People get raped, abused, etc. and it is easy to understand why they would turn to drugs to find an escape.
  17. if you give people more free money instead of free food, whats to stop them from spending it on drugs and alcohol? edit: yes, i know about food stamps, these could replace food banks, but honestly we probably need both
  18. my only problem is people collecting odsp for non-debilitating mental health issues. depression should not prevent anyone from finding a job, going to school, etc. and sorry if i seem like i am being harsh. also, i realize this problem is, well, not that big a deal. There are lawyers, politicians, businessmen, bankers, who leech far more from the system. There is corruption on all levels in Canada and the US.
  19. depression is not a debilitating mental health issue. I get sad and depressed a lot, just looking at what the world is today. This does not prevent me from getting off my ass and getting out into the world and contributing to society. If you would rather die than be of use to society, go ahead and do us a favor and stop leeching
  20. im with you, only problem is they dole out ODSP to anyone with 'mental health issues' like drug addicts, depression, anything. if you are not able to work, then ya, you deserve it.
  21. thats a pretty good idea, not sure how cost effective that would be but it sounds great
  22. it is definately true that the homeless flock to the major cities. People who are well off in their small towns don't need to leave, but people who are NOT well off have no choice but to find shelter in larger metrolopisesesesessss, metropolises?? whatever
  23. i noticed right away this whole area was all about toronto, thats why i posted my little rant about London small towns don't have the problems bigger towns have usually
  24. in this day and age, im not surprised they are doing this. They want to follow other governments, not the desires of its own citizens.
  25. i really like that deaths per kw/h stat, i never realised solar was that unsafe, for the amount of power it generates and obviously solar could never be the MAIN source of power its just not efficient enough either way we have to find SOMETHING better than nuclear, but it aint easy
