Wasn't even draft eligible anymore by the time he started working for the government. A baby I can understand. Wonder how he got the other ones.

He was saving it all up to be SecDef later.

Exactly.

According to the International Hunter Education Association, hunters accidentally shoot more than 1,000 people in the United States and Canada every year.

It's not as if hunting accidents are unheard of.

I guess if hunting accidents happen numerous amounts of times some people will easily dismiss them.

Is the same true about intentional murder or manslaughter with a firearm?

I'm going to guess that more than 1,000 people are "intentionaly" shot every year in Canada and the US,why does not anyone easily brush this off?

Happens all the time...not unusual at all.

Never claimed it was unusual.Or the frequency of similar accidents accuring.

This is more of how you try to spin things into your web...again!

Cheney said he had one beer at lunch and he does have heart problems and probably taking medications for it so alcohol and medications usually don't mix. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/texas-cops-release-cheney-shooting-report

Ya thats what he admited too!

Wouldn't be suprised if he meant one pitcher! After all he does have two DUI.

Bush was an alcoholic. Known fact. Question is, did he recover?

No. That's not a "known fact."

Bush said that drinking used to be an issue for him...that's not unambiguously an "alcoholic."

At any rate, it appears that he quit, so there's no issue by any standards.

“There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver."

--Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

You got to admit it's great when a person comes out like that, someone who was once practically the most powerful person on the planet shows himself as an ordinary human being with human weakness, and uses it to inspire other people who need such help.

Good thing it's April 1st. Or I might have taken that seriously.

Even when he admits it, it is a known fact. Sorry to shatter your world.

at 1:50 essentially admits it.

The key word there being "essentially." He says he "drank too much," he never says he was an alcoholic. In fact, he has said that he doesn't think he was.

Sorry to shatter your world, but there's a difference between drinking too much and being an alcoholic.

Not really. You can drink too much on a given night without being an alcoholic but if you do it for a prolonged ammount of time the chances are you satisfy the clinical definition of alcoholism.

It really doesnt take much. Just about anyone with a regular habit that drinks more than a couple of drinks per day or a dozen drinks per week would meet the criteria. Especially if they experience any kind of withdrawal symptoms or cravings if they try to stop.

I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

Let's hope they don't find out about Laura Bush's murder spree.

How much is "too much"?

"Too much" probably means it was affecting his life in negative ways.

When you drink so much that it's having a negative effect on your life. You're an alcoholic, whether you admit it or not.

That alone does not constitute alcoholism.

Sure. Just make up whatever definition you would like and run with it.

Talking to yourself again, are you? ;)

"Problem drinker" and "alcoholic" are two different things.

Whatever you say.

Whatever I say, indeed - because I'm right. :) You learned something new today.*
