Guns are tools and toys to be respected..just don't give one to a liberally created fatherless black kid who has watched to many of those Zionist produced rap videos. ooops .....did I say that? - I was just wondering what producers ..originally put up the money for pro-violence black hip hop skits that posion and debase the minds of black youth...they certainly did not put up the original cash...maybe it was the evil Anglos..

I don't do the med thing..better to be your own health advisor. Yah that was extreme..and uncalled for..BUT if you toss enough crap at the wall some of it will stick...I really don't like media types who ever they are who create entertainment that creates violence..while they profit and the rest of us get caught in the cross fire...so --- you seem very familiar with "meds"...that means medication right? I never like the term or people who use it.

I don't know why this couldn't go to the provinces rather than the Feds. I listened to people in the committee hearings and there's so too much differences, East vs West and I think each province would be better to deal with this.

Because the provinces can't write any laws with the force of the Criminal Code behind them. Only the federal government can do that.

No, I want some kind of proof that it serves an actual purpose.

the police have come out solidly in favour of the registry saying it saves lives and assists them in their work who are you to say otherwise? it's not you going to domestic disputes where there may or may not be weapons present something they like to know, it's police lives on the line not yours...

The registry doesn't help them with that. First, not everyone registers their guns if they don't use them but still have them, and second, if someone owns guns, they already have a license, and that's information the police already have access to. The registry adds somewhere between nothing and nothing.

Corrected.

it's not you going to domestic disputes where there may or may not be weapons present something they like to know, it's police lives on the line not yours...

And the registry in know way provides that information, on top of which, any cop who trusts the computer and all the screwed up records doesn't deserve to be a cop. What are they going to do, if the registry indicates no firearms present, and the officer attending gets stabbed by the firearm toting owner? No we're talking problems. Dangerous hammer registry too!

The police want access to anything and everything they think could in any way help them. Do you really want the police to have any power they think will help them do their job? How about warrant-less wire taps? How about entering your home and searching it without cause? O but you are a liberal with nothing to hide right? I don't have anything to hide either, but that isn't the point, it is wrong to make criminals out of generally law abiding people simply because the police want it, or some left wing nut bar feminist group wants it, we are supposed to make reasoned decisions based upon facts not feelings, the facts available (the real ones) show the registry to be redundant and useless.

If these police were so honest and non political they wouldn't be using tax payer money to put pro registry propaganda on the internet, seems like a conflict of interest to me and many others, so much for the ethical police; http://www.truthsandmyths.ca Brought to you by the Toronto police service, of course they don't actually identify themselves, but a whois check shows that it is in fact owned and registered by the Toronto police.

This site is also linked through the coalition for gun control, so there you have a public service using public money spreading lies in concert with another lobby group originally funded by the Chretien liberals, funded by the federal government of the day (Chretien liberals), and it's job was to lobby that same government for stricter gun control...move along folks, nothing to see here.

I should add that this is the same coalition for gun control that accepted a $100,000 donation from CGI the company that runs the the registry's computer infrastructure, conflict of interest much? These are the people that the liberals are following, liars all of them.

Police are devided on this issue, it is aminly the political arm of the forces as in the police chiefs asc. I heard the head chief say if we could save one life with it,it is worth it.So I say lets ban all air travel, because if we couyld just save one life ,it will be worth it. Or as one person said if we can stop on suicide with this it is worth it, if some one is going to kill themselves the registry will not do anything to save that man.

Right on. This "if it saves one life it is worth it" garbage drives me crazy. Would these same people maintain they got good value for money if a billion extra was put into their local healthcare system and the net result was one life saved? Maybe they would but fortunately there isn't enough money in the world to indulge that kind of stupidity.

Great for you. I'm not a mindless pacifist nor am I an economic socialist.

The real economic socialism is the corporate neo-capitalism that folks like the Torries and Liberals have been pushing, and the shoring up of corporate profits with tax payer dollars.

NDP allow members free vote. Seeing how the NDP has never whipped a private members bill I am not very surprised.

The parties should not be allowed to whip ANY bill, private members bill or not. In fact Id love to see them gone completely and have MP's all sit as independants.

private members bill? C'mon punked... you know this was the Conservatives back-door mechanism. Since the NDP won't have the Liberals to cover their collective ass on this one, we'll see very clear and precisely just how (if) Layton/NDP kill the gun registry. No way to hide anymore, punked!

The gun registry is a complete failure with a cost of a thousand times higher than projected. Enough with this nonsense! Long guns aren't used in crimes, and hand guns that are, aren't registered.

This is insanity!

The man that killed 12 people in england had a licence and his guns were registered. So people quit playing politics with this waste of money, all it did was divide the country even more. And how could someone support it but yet go bananas over the billion for the G8/20.
