By having avoided to see part of its territory amputated to make room for a Jewish state of course.

Yeah instead they got half their territory occupied by the Soviet Union, where the German people were starved and "purged", and the other half by the allies, for decades. Real beneficial. In any case, there was not at any point any serious proposal to make a Jewish state on German soil, so it wouldn't have happened anyway.

calling for states where there is only space for refugee camps

Oh and by the way, there was plenty of space in the British mandate of Palestine for two viable states, as is clearly illustrated by the fact that there are indeed two viable states presently existing on its territory: Israel and Jordan.

Furthermore, states don't need a lot of space to be successful, they just need people that are willing to work to improve their own lives. Europe has several states far tinier than either Israel or the proposed Palestinian state. And there's even Singapore, with a population on the same scale as Israel or the West Bank + Gaza, that occupies only the area of one city.

If the Palestinians wanted to build their state in Gaza and the West Bank, they very well could do so successfully (at least if one assumes that they are equally capable as other peoples around the world). Instead, they choose not to, and instead focus their energies on hatred and terrorism. Who's fault is that?

Forgets East Germany/West Germany...and how Poland got larger all of a sudden. Not to mention that the Arab's leader served in the SS.

Since Karl Marx was more German than Jewish, some German-made Marxist amputations could never have hurt as much as a real Jewish one.

They did though right up until they were attacked. Check out the map of Israel from the mandate to the 15 May 1948. Israel adhered to the borders thus proving you wrong.

oh? they agreed to the partition border? that's a lie.

Israel does not get all of it's military hardware in the form of aid. Most of it they make themselves, some they buy from the US and some they buy from other countries. The amount of aid is three billion, or, 1-1/2% of their economy, not 20% of their military budget.

your comments does not change the fact that around 20% of israel's military comes from the U.S. without it, they wouldn't have their F16 and the apache.

Because if Israel was not there, they would have to pay money to whatever was there in the form of aid anyhow, as well as provide military support to keep it from being toppled by unfriendly entity. As well, they would have to construct or modify another port to accept their carriers and, find a closer place than stateside for spare parts. All of this would cost them far more than the aid which they give Israel. On top of that, what the US does with it's own savings or money has nothing to do with your argument.

What comment should I refrain from providing Dub?

really? what about their military presence every else in the middle east?

israel gives no advantage to the U.S.

they already have major presence around the mediterranean like in turkey. they also have many other bases throughout the middle east. also, it's not like israel gives the U.S. a resource advantage like countries like saudi and kuwait do.

israel is a disadvantage both economically and in security.

And would be building more of their own planes and helicopters instead, and be much better off for it in the long term. Kind of like Canada would have been better off if we didn't scrap the Avro Arrow.

Israel used to produce the best dogfighter on the planet: The Kfir. Then along came the F-16. Israel has only ever had a few of these given for 'free' (for not attacking Iraq in 1991)...the rest must be bought like any other purchace/sale.

At the moment, Isreal has to be content with producing the planet's best defensive tank (Merkava).

Having a base in a country that is at best neutral and whose population is mostly hostile towards you is very different from having a devoted and powerful ally.

Resources that you dig up from the ground are not the only resources of value. Israel has extensive research and development capabilities and contributes greatly to the technology sector of the world economy. Brainpower and innovation is a resource that is in abundance in Israel, and seems less prevalent in the other countries you mention. The US also uses a variety of military equipment and that was developed in Israel.

Yes...for instance....Israel is an oasis for medical technology and services for the entire region.

Economics trumps Virtue.

Let see...you joined in March and have nearly as many posts as moi who has been here for years. Many of your posts are just a collection of words randomly put together into a sentance that, if they have anything to do with the thread, only you seem to be able to guess the meaning.

Let's put that through the 'troll-o-meter'.

...and will continue to as long as they continue down the path of terrorism. But since Hamas likes to put on TV shows for kids that involve an anti-Semitic Micky Mouses or bees who are cruel to real "Zionist" cats, I don't think it'll stop anytime soon.
