Sorry, I hate to introduce you to reality, but if George Bush lied, then France lied, Germany lied, Russia lied, China lied and the United Nations lied. All major intelligence believed that Iraq possessed illegal weapons. Try and spread your lies and propaganda somewhere else. Nice try though, it may fly with a less informed audience, but not this one. Really? I noticed France, Germany, Russia, China and the UN went along with Bush on his ride to Iraq.

Yes, you're right I should be more open minded to Eureka's brand of tolerance: Shame on you for supporting such prejudicial and intolerant comments. You don't recognize sarcasm? My God, you folks invented it.

It's a shame he refuses to say three other little words: "I LOVE CANADA"

There are plenty of us Reagan. But when most of our posts are continually ridiculed by the posters on this heavy right leaning board, some of us tend not to bother. Oh, and eureka, good post.

Actually, after enduring 9 years of Mulroney I think I can handle just about anybody. Politics is a game, and the wise know not to take it too seriously.

No, actually they vote them back into power. George Bush lied to the country, illegally invaded a country, cost the lives of thousands and the Repubs voted him back in.

Where in mowich's thread was the mention of bashing Liberals? This is supposed to be about superficiality of voters, not politicians.
-
Martin is going to lose because of the perceived scandal and corruption of the Liberals. Harper has convinced enough voters that a change is needed. This has nothing to do with morals and values, and should have nothing to do with politics.

This was your assertion. I am for the protection of minorities, and the quote I provided from Alito pertained to his bias, which I felt was discriminatory (plus other material from the link I provided). This goes far beyond what the constitution has to say. There will always be admission abnormalites with minorities. All I'm saying is that there has to be an equitable way to solve the problem. I agree; quotas and percentages aren't always the best way to go. But what is the alternative? Academic standing alone negates cultural differences (identity, characteristics and traditions). I didn't argue for the mandatory admission quotas by the way. That was your perception. I went back and reread my first post, which contains the Alito quote you've since deleted. Alito said he was proud of his work against racial quotas, and you said I asked if you were for racial quotas, and then extrapolated the concept to show what racial quotas might come to, and if you would be for them under those circumstances. I didn't assert anything. You are the one making assertions: 1) that Alito's stance against racial quotas is driven by racial discrimination 2) that minorities will never achieve parity with the majority, and will therefore always have to be treated differently (Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!!) 3) That Alito's stance against racial quotas is somehow against what's in the Constitution (despite your apparent familiarity with the text of the 14th Amendment) The fact that Alito was an active conservative member of the Concerned Alumni of Princeton, and that that organization supported the limited the number of minorities and women to the campus is reason enough for my beliefs of Alito's discrimination. Enough said.

Look up the word in the dictionary and see if it mentions religion.

Check out http://www.elections.ca. Also, check out the board of directors on the conference board of Canada, re Harper's economic plan. Interesting. http://www.conferenceboard.ca/about-cboc/BOD.asp

NDP Aims for Liberals - Ignores Tories
newbie replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They may have missed the boat but I respect their honesty. -
You know what? Whenever a Liberal farts within earshot, it becomes a scandal.

[quote name='geoffrey' date='Jan 15 2006, 02:12 PM' post='88656 Alot of the problem with the youth vote is that they have only seen a Liberal government. An 18 year old would have no memory of a conservative government. Well, gee Geoff, why don't you describe the Mulroney years for the poor lad. Tell him how better off we were.

Harper-Bush, Bush-Harper?
newbie replied to The Honest Politician's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
.....unlike the promises kept from the Liberal Red Book from the last four elections. Ideology and party platforms from one leader to the next are two different things. -
Harper-Bush, Bush-Harper?
newbie replied to The Honest Politician's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mable, the cons will dismiss this by saying Harper has changed his mind on a lot of things and that quote no longer represents what he stands for (yeah, right). -
Why isn't Canada helping to promote democracy?
newbie replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Here is another reason why Canada doesn't help the terrorist Bush: http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories His indiscriminate bombing of innocent women and children does not help his cause. -
Yeah, God likes to change his mind a lot I noticed.

Aaah, let's bring religion in okay: "And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife." Genesis 20:11-12 "And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses." Ex. 6:20

Liberal Ads - Point by point rebuttal
newbie replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, in all honesty I thought the Martin ads sucked. I will agree with most of you he is running a terrible campaign and I've seen a lot of them. When I asked you that question, I realize probably everyone on this board has made up their minds. -
Re minority rights, from the commissioner of human rights, Special rights are not privileges but they are granted to make it possible for minorities to preserve their identity, characteristics and traditions. http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu6/2/fs18.htm Some other sites: http://www.minorityrights.org/ http://dev.eurac.edu:8085/mugs2/index.jsp?TopBarItem=Home

Melanie, don't forget the GST cut. It will greatly benefit the rich - the more you have, the more you spend, the more you save with GST cut.

Too bad poor George down south can't claim that. His mess he created all by himself.
