  1. Actually, France didn't buy into the lie: http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/121105B.shtml
  2. Yeah, like ditch the moral and high ground right away.
  3. And I take it you support crossing the floor without running a byelection first. Whatever happened to that high and moral ground us lefties kept hearing about? Harper seems to have done a good job keeping his back benchers quiet, but good old Myron Thomspon and even Garth Turner oppose the Emerson conversion. Aaah, the smell of hypocrisy. You wear it well.
  4. and the posters from this forum
  5. This broad claims to have done it. http://archives.cnn.com/2002/HEALTH/12/27/...lier/index.html That's one space cadet.
  6. Jason, the mouthpiece of virtue, Kenney. Did he get left out in the cold or is he reduced to secretary status? And speaking of vocalization, poor Diane Ablonczy. I'm really going to miss that high-pitched whine of hers. Does anyone know where these two paragons of speech were relegated?
  7. Of course. Because your side is always acting on principle, while the other side are just a bunch of whores. Newbie, I have to hand it to you...this thread is just amazingly well thought out. Maybe Graham should be PM. After all, I am sure he would extend the right to vote to 15 year olds...it would widen his Toronto base... So typical of the right to defend their naked emperor.
  8. You forgot to mention Alberta king of the Western boondoggle King Ralph. http://users.rttinc.com/~asiniwachi/wm6.html
  9. Shoop, for the record, I'm lovin' this opposition thing. Now Stevie has to watch his back.
  10. Tried that, didn't work. Capital punishment too expensive and no deterenrt. How about the rack, burning at the stake worked for awhile. But the shark infested island thing might make a comeback.
  11. Bad karma dude.
  12. There have been plently of threads on this topic. Do some research.
  13. Rather amusing to find this tidbit from the CPC site on Emerson. An early recruiting guise I would suggest: David Emerson – Emerson suggested that immigrants needed better language training so they could shed their accents (CP Wire, June 10, 2004). He had previously suggested a link between ethnic communities and the illegal drug trade (CPAC, June 3, 2004). Emerson has contradicted the government on issues such as the Chinese head tax and the sale of Ridley. http://www.conservative.ca/EN/2459/39189
  14. My highlites of this thread: I think she's a political prostitute. I miss Reagan Brison was a political whore for defecting when he did, his excuses at the time sounded forced. He wanted power, and I sense the same from Stronach. - Argus . I would not call Belinda Stronach particularly intelligent or succesful - Argus "complexity is not a word I associate with Belinda Stronach". - Harper It's funny how the Cons demonstrated Stronach's point: She's been called a whore, a dipstick and effectively a stupid person, each by different conservatives.takeanumber And the alltime best by Black Dog 'know, it just struck me how sordid this whole thing is. First Peter screwed Joe to get with Stephen. Then Belinda and Peter started screwing each other. Meanwhile, Stephen and Gilles got together in hopes of screwing Paul but then Belinda turned around and screwed both Peter and Stephen by jumping into bed with Paul. And, in the end, we're all screwed. biggrin.gif
  15. Damn! Anyone see Grewal and his tape recorder.
  16. Well the sky is fallin' a little round young Harper.
  17. Why not? Do the math Canuck.
  18. Well, he just lowered himself.
  19. He was elated back then when B.S. crossed the floor. Look who's not a happy-camper now. Wouldn't another defection tomorrow just turn you inside out eh, Newbie? Wooo-whooo! I'm a very happy camper Canuck. I'm just waiting for the rest of you all to catch up. Stephen caught me by surprise tho by this early conversion. He'd make a damn good Liberal.
  20. This was a speech from the CPC website. Please read carefully and then consider the senate appointment of Fortier Stephen Harper made today. There are three critical reforms. First, we need to get on with modernizing our upper house. We should get on with the job of electing senators. Secondly, we want fair, fixed election dates, not dates chosen simply for the partisan political interests of the Prime Minister. And finally we want to clean up internal party politics, beginning with grassroots democratic control of the nomination process. All three of these initiatives will strengthen democracy of Canada and require a Prime Minister willing to bring in legislation and enact reform. http://www.conservative.ca/1004/35367/ And from Bill Graham from CTV.ca: "Mr. Harper ran a campaign which emphasized accountability and ethical behaviour by Canadians and by parliamentarians," said Liberal Opposition Leader Bill Graham. "I have to say, therefore, that I am concerned, given Mr. Harper's past statements, that he's decided to put into his cabinet a non-elected minister of public works," Graham said of Fortier. Graham also blasted Harper's decision to appoint Emerson, particularly because of the criticism Martin faced when former Tory Belinda Stronach crossed the floor to join the Liberal government last spring. "I was in the House of Commons when Mr. Harper vigorously criticized Mr. Martin for including Ms. Stronach in the cabinet, and now, before he has even been appointed prime minister of Canada, he has already negotiated to have someone come over to his cabinet from the other side," Graham said in French. Graham said Stronach left the Tories over matters of policy, and that Emerson's defection is not comparable.
  21. Well, I thought it was Harper's moral upstanding and clean campaign that put the cons in power. Well, you've had a taste today of the REAL Stephen Harper. More hidden agenda to follow. Newbie, I think you are being overly pessimistic. I won't play a double standard here. I criticized's Belinda's defection and I agree that Harper's decision is quite beyond me and looks really bad. But if you think you are ready to bring the government down over this then you need to just relax. Relax? Oh, like Monty. Okay, I can do that. What's the matter guys. You can sure dish it out can't ya? You've been harpin (no pun inteneded) against the Libs ever since I joined this cozy con love fest and now reality hits you. Well you had your fun. Day 2 tomorrow. I think I'll just stick around for awhile. As far as bringing the gov't down...it would wreck all the fun. No, I look forward to more of Stephen's clean and moral behaviour to do that. Cheers.
