Even when they're at his request. But it's a little tacky on the day he's sworn in.
-
Again, he said he was going to clean up govenrment and you want a specific date??? Gee, cause he's such a good guy and all.

Harper's administration campaigned on cleaning up the government folks. It's irrelevant what Belinda did or Martin did. This is about what Harper promised he wouldn't do,yet did it on day bloody one yet. Can't wait for page two of the hidden agenda.

August, if Saddam was such a threat, why didn't the pre-invasion plan include the guarding of Al Qa Qaa, a huge munitions dump. After all, wasn't most of Iraq's oil refineries heavily protected? And why no guarding of the certain borders, say like Syria, just in case those peskly WMD's might wander awry? They only had so many troops to cover so many places. If there is one criticism, it was no bring enough troops into Iraq. Gee, why is that? They botched that. They had more than enough troops. That was the point of my post. Duh.

Shoop, I generally agree with you and there is no doubt we needed representation from the big 3 cities but this just looks awful after Harper's promise to bring up accountability. This will be used against us. Likely, the NDP has the most to gain. Harper is better than this and he crossed the floor at a crucial time to get a plum cabinet post, much like Belinda did. It looks awful... It is awful and Harper couldn't even live up to his word on his innaguration day.

Seems to me the person who called Belinda a whore owes her an apology in the light of the newest con jigiloe David Emerson. And his senate appointment. So much for cleaning up Government. You guys were truly conned.

Of course I have a problem with their far-left content. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund such a powerful propaganda tool. Only the wackiest lefties deny CBC's obvious bias. Places like Saddam's Iraq had a state-run TV channel. Btw, the CBC is rabidly anti-American. Do you think that is appropriate? First, I am socially moderate. Second, can you give me some examples from 'your experience', where social conservatives have 'gotten in power' and provided govt funding for their content. Iran? Saudi Arabia? Third, what would you think if US taxpayers were forced to fund a state-run TV news channel that was akin to the Fox News Channel? I suspect the calls for Canada needing a state-run channel to promote "Canadian values" would die immediately on the left if the CBC was like the FNC--whose news is fair and balanced (although I admit their commentary leans to the right. Poor Monty. Well, get your petition going and maybe one day you can have a government free news program like your dear Fox. For me I love CBC, but also watch as many news programs as I can.

Why didn't Canada join in an uneccessary war?

You had me until you said Bush was a man of character. I treated the rest of your rant as great Sunday evening entertainment. Nice try Monty. -

Well, we'll see what the first free vote is that comes up.

Remember what Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said recently: "Israel must be wiped off the map…" Kinda makes the cartoons look rather tame.

Including having your mother plan your murder upon your arrival in the country you are visiting?

newbie replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Canada / United States Relations
He could just possibly be referring to all the weapons taken out of the unguarded munitions dump at Al Qa Qaa. There wasn't a nuclear program in Iraq. Any facility they had was wiped out in 1991. No WMD was used against the U.S. invaders. -
Yeah, like getting the hell out of their countries.

moderateamericain, I think what you have forgotton is that Clinton was quashed by the Repubicans when sought more money for terrorism, particularly Orrin Hatch. Also, the 911 Commission reports that Clinton could have risked more bombing in Khandahar but there would have been too much collateral damage. It's all well and good to quote from the past but try and keep things in perspective. Clinton's hands were tied and the repubs were too busy trying to dig up something they could nail him on. All they got was a bj and a lie about it.

I'm with Argus on this one. Bush is clearly to blame. -
Man, I almost forgot about that BD. Thanks for bringing that up. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/02/02/iraq.oil.smuggle/

I'd like you to define the two. My dad used to "spank" me with a short piece of plastic pipe. Where does that fall, spanking or beating. This is a very slippery slope. A swat on the behind is one thing, but using objects to spank are akin to beating.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> The question still stands. Clinton didn't invade Iraq and he offered more to the table than pre 911Bush. Oh, and Orrin Hatch and Trent Lott had much to do with countering Clinton's terrorism legislation. http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/pearly/htmls/...-terrorism.html. I think you are scared of the numbers Monty. Here's a little help: http://www.iraqbodycount.net and http://icasualties.org/oif. That'a a minimum of 27,000 that died under Bush's watch. But be aware, it's a MINIMUM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Care to tell us how many Iraqis died under Clinton's watch? How many of these happened during Clinton's watch? Don't worry adding on the Iraqis killed when he lobbed missiles into Iraq to divert attention when Monica Lewinsky was slated to testify. Your site only links to Saddam Hussein regime kills. Clinton in one air strike killed 26 iraquis - http://www.themilitant.com/1996/6032/6032_2.html and injured 10 more at the aspirin plant - http://www.mega.nu:8080/ampp/khartoumbomb.html Other death totals are unstantiated. But add sanctions and it adds up.

Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria

I think you've opened your mind to crater size. There were no weapons. Wrap you mind around that. -

Uh, I think you lost all credibility with your signature. -
Actually we had a great time until Mulroney and Reagan came along. It was Mulroney who invoked the Canadian Multiculturalism Act in 1985 http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/C-18.7/ which placed turbans on the RCMP, and opened the floodgates for minorities to lobby for anything they wanted.
