  1. Good post. Censor all your candidates. Surprise, surprise.
  2. So censoring James Keegstra and Ernst Zundel will ultimately lead to more of the same?
  3. That is way more than interesting. We should all be afraid of Bush and his gang of thugs.
  4. You know, River has some intense posts. But to ridicule them offhand is totally inappropriate. Why does the right continue to demean others? Even if it's entirely bogus, do you get some perverse please about trashing the person who wrote it?
  5. And yet you folks continue to bash Martin based on many statements he made prior to being PM. Interesting. State one instance where I bashed Martin on a statement he made before becoming PM... I'm not going to go on an in-depth search for who said what, but you can't deny that comments were made on this board re PM comments on same sex marriage, PM supporting troops in Iraq, his support of Charlottetown Accord, and many others, all before he became Prime Minister. In fact I'm sure your "search" team worked overtime to find conflicting statements Martin made before he was PM. All I'm saying here is that everybody says things to suit the situation at the time. Harper is no different.
  6. And yet you folks continue to bash Martin based on many statements he made prior to being PM. Interesting.
  7. Great post River! But I kinda agree with Cameron. The right is used to the info they post: short, sarcastic and antagonistic barbs. Well advised to keep that in mind.
  8. Randomness? It was a simple bloody question. One word answer: YES.
  9. Maybe he was amazed anyone would be stupid enough to ask such an inane question. Argus, it was probably the most important question he'll ever be asked. It's not like he couldn't answer it; he refused. And you want a Prime Minister that will not avow a love for his country?
  10. These links are great. Why aren't the Convseravtives here supporting them? Any comments?
  11. deleted
  12. I find the CPC type's fascination with genetalia, rectums, child-porn, homosexuals, and other such topics .... well... very interesting.... It seems that's what they resort too when they can't debate the truth.
  13. tml12, surely you remember Meech Lake and Charlottetown?
  14. That sounds like Mulroney appeasement all over again.
  15. Proof of this BM? You are merely restating the left's position. This should clear that up for you. http://www.counterpunch.org/vallette03222005.html
  16. If that's the case, I think accreditation and professional day care is worth it for our children.
  17. Actually that wasn't his job if you read what the mandate of the Gomery commission was designed to do. http://www.gomery.ca/en/index.asp
  18. Good post River. You are absolutely correct re lots to be proud of in this country. I wouldn't live anywhere else regardless of Federal or Provincial Governments. I also agree we don't need a radical change of government. Of course there are areas where things can be tightened up, not unlike any administration. I think if we elect a government that is going to come in and create a dramatic change, we may suffer on the international stage.
  19. Yes and no, it should be noted that a great many Americans strongly support the policy and administration. I think the worm turned on this when the administration was returned to power for a second term, I know thats when many Europeans came to the realization that the government in the US IS representative of the people. So then you are saying one cannot separate one's politics from one's essence or personality? Some of my best friends are on the extreme right of centre and I am a bonafide lefty. Yet, we have no difficulty in maintaining our friendship. I don't hate the conservative point of view. I respect it, but do not agree with it, and I don't judge people by their political affiliations.
  20. Now who's fear mongering?
  21. Gee Shoop, I don't see a lot of your con buddies here rebutting this, and you seem a tad bit defensive. Maybe there's more than a grain of truth in River_God's accusations.
  22. I agree about the generalization bit. But I really think it's the policy and administration, especially now, that Canadians dislike about America.
  23. Much of this debate has been against the US right to own a gun. My apologizes. I'm sure there are plenty of innocent people killed in car accidents each day; many of them didn't choose anything, especially the children. And don't the kids who play with the gun "chose" too do so? My point was,,, saying that 802 people died b/c of guns is of course is heartbreaking (as is any innocent death is). But it does not; in anyway, make it wrong for people own guns. I guess all I'm saying is that a loaded gun around a house with kids is a recipe for disaster, no matter how much training and talking you might have with children. I can only speak for myself, and I'd never have a gun around.
  24. 802 out of almost 300 million people. Out of the 802, how many of those were unregistared and illegal guns? There were 1,614 deaths in car accindents in Pennsylvania alone in 2001 (42,815 in US). Should we ban cars? They are far more deadly than guns per years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did I say ban? I said concern, or perhaps you don't give a s---. A good portion of these deaths were kids, not people who chose to drive, some drunk. And I said innocent. One death by careless use of a firearm is too many in my view.
  25. This is a childish post. You don't like Harper's politics. Fine. But no one has ever suggested the man isn't extremely capable, intelligent, educated and knowledgeable. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This whole thread is childish. Was it started by a conservative? If it was it was typical of the black/white, love/hate, with us/against us attitude of that party.
