  1. Apart from the 26% who utterly rejected rightist policies, anyway. You know, those ones that now have absolutely no local representation in parliament. The ones that the reformers, if they were actually interested in fair representation, would be outraged about.... but not a peep out of them. Funny that. So now the shoe is on the other foot. Not a peep when previously there was no local Western representation in Parliament. Were the Liberals interested in fair representation or even outraged about it - Funny that!! Best check your facts on that one. We had plenty of cons in the last election from Alberta.
  2. Ahh newbie, if I only had a nickle for everytime a liberal posted a picture of Rumsfeld and Hussein. I'd be a rich man. Well, yes, the world was much different 25 years ago. Good point. However, I'll see your picture and raise you one of Albright toasting champagne with Kim Jong Ill. Link Oh, and don't forget the Governor General supposedly toasting separation?? And you make my point. Photos don't tell the whole story. And with the rag that Monty got his pic from, well nothing more needs to be said.
  3. Which is why Germany, Russia and France joined in the Iraq inva...oh, wait a minute, they didn't go. Hmmm.
  4. deleted
  5. I couldn't agree more Argus. You should follow your own advice sometimes. As for the bottom quote, you have assumed too much. I am a Liberal and very much appreciate the culture in the United States. I would not live there because of the crime rate and the Bush administration. Goodness, I'd think that was a post from a Liberal Party member if I didn't know better. A Liberal party member would never see, much less acknowledge the difference in opportunities, in education, and in degrees of options and sophistication between a woman born and raised in Canada, and one from Syria. For to a Liberal, all cultures are equally good and wonderful except the one in the US.
  6. Let's add this to the list. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=1548547&ad=true
  7. There should be plenty on the net, especially on conspiracy sites.
  8. Albertans are unwilling to change, unlike Ontario and other Provinces re their politics. I've lived here all my life all of it under a Conservative or Social Credit banner. We haven't been Liberal since 1905-1921.
  9. Hey folks, Harper is a public figure and will not be allowed privacy anymore. That comes with the territory I'm afraid.
  10. Yep, kinda like the unbiased Fox news.
  11. Aaah, trouble in paradise boys?
  12. Oh, and Monty, if the Sun on-line is your latest source of up-to-date credible info, I think it's time to start buying the National Enquirer.
  13. And let's add this to your collection: http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/im...damrumsfeld.htm
  14. Well, maybe not right away. Seems to me they want our water, our electricity, our lumber, our airspace and oil. 60 Minutes presented the latter's significance to the USA. Did you know that Western Oil Sands owns 20% of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project, and that the EXO and VP represent American firms Chevon/Texaco, and BHP. Yaro is correct when he implies that the American administration (particularly the Republican ones) is motivated to action when it can be of benefit to itself.
  15. Typical Monty - ignoring the issue. By the way, Colter's a dog.
  16. 3 Wilber, what is your point?
  17. Personally I'm going for Preston Manning. Now there's beauty. Oh, and that lovely Mr. Harper, there's another looker ! Somehow it doesn't make a difference to anybody what THEY look like .... On another note, you gotta love a dad who shakes hands with his kids when seeing them off to school. Oh he's all heart that Harper, Mr. Warm and Fuzzy. No feminine side to that guy !! Did he miss that whole "sensitive guys of the nineties" movement ???? I can tell you one thing, the last thing my son wanted from his dad at that age was a hug and a pat on the head in front of his school mates. Not cool at all. Perhaps he knows a little more about how to deal with adolescents than you give him credit for. It's one thing to refuse to say you love Canada. But to shake hands with your kids? Come on. They're 10 and 12 for God's sake.
  18. Monty, I liked your comment on the "roaring'" U.S. economy. Too bad you didn't take into account this: http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/
  19. Give it up Monty. You're flogging a dead horse.
  20. This brings to mind the Terri Schavio case. Right after that I updated my will, made a living will and personal directive so as to have a record of my intentions. I think there are plenty of safeguards here in Canada to prevent the assisted suicide thing. And if it does happen, it is dealt with on a case by case basis. When my dad was dying he didn't want any heroic efforts made to revive him or prolong his life. And because he was suffering from bone cancer the Doctor gave him extra morphine near the end. Is that euthanasia? No. It's called compassion.
  21. Actually, I would treat terrorism as a different phenomenon. One person can be a terrorist and not belong to a specific group. I was referring more to the identified and active hate groups, like those I listed. Plus we're getting way off topic. I simply wanted to indicate that, in my belief, the U.S. overall is more racist than Canada.
  22. 762 for US would make it 76.2 for Canada. FLQ #1,.........
  23. I refer you to post #31 for your answer. Wow newbie, you just made everything so much clearer... There are plenty of hate groups in this country too in our history that have threatened a certain element of the populace...you must not be a Quebec anglophone who still shivers when he remembers the FLQ revival in 2001 when he goes into the SecondCup clutching his Montreal Gazette INSIDE his coat. Didn't think so... Please list all the hate groups in Canada, besides the dreaded FLQ. I don't think you can begin to compare with the list I provided.
  24. I refer you to post #31 for your answer.
