  1. I am wondering why so many support Israel at face value. And why does Israel always play the victim? If Israel did not get the support from the US as it does now. Israel would be GONE. It would not exist. Make it fair and give the Palestinians what the Israelis have. Even out the fight so it is fair. Hard to control the population when it is being scattered constantly. Hard to settle down in an area when your houses are blown up by rockets and bulldozers. Hard to control the displaced REALLY PISSED off population. Again someone comes to your home, takes part of it over, because all the neighbours said it was okay to take a room in your house, now that 'guest' has taken over most of your house and people wonder why you are pissed at them and want to take revenge. But in everyones eye, the Palestinians and the bad guy. The media and journalists (like youi Army Guy) always seem to propr up Isreal blindly. This gives a biased view towards Isreal and people support it because we don't want anything to happen to the poor Jews. I would be fighting too
  2. That would be absolute comedy gold. But Bush will be the 'decider' on that one I assume.
  3. This can really shut the doors for dialogue, http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...60419?hub=World So as per the TIT for TAT in the last couple weeks. A suicide attack on Israel, Rocket attacks for almost a week straight. Another suicide bomber. Here is a good list of Israeli Casualties since Sept 2000 And here is a list of UN resolution against Israel I would assume that the majority of them have been vetoed by the U.S. Dudes, we could go on, the path seems clear in their intent. Either side won't stop till the other is dead.
  4. Alot of people discredit Al Jazeera, but I go there now and then. Usually with one article you can check out other news sources and the articles will be there, but the links are usualy not 72pt CNN BReAKING NEWS font. but tucked away in a corner.
  5. e past with the Isreal-Arab war, the Six Day Way, ect. Israel is an aggressive state no doubts about that.Isreal with very discrete help from the US will take out some attack on Iran. Maybe you can explain to me how the Israel-arab war or the 6 day war was an act of terrorism or an act of agression. And what did you mean that Israel is an aggressive state, are you suggesting aggressive in terms of expanding it's boaders, or aggressive in terms of defending it's nation. And i suppose that Iran had not given any cause for Israel or the US to take some form of action. Yes and Yes. Israel would not be there right now if it had not got the support from the US, but this is another matter altogether. They are aggressive in expanding their borders and making sure that they survive. http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/history/A0804479.html War of 1956 So the second war, Israel took a pre-emtive stance and attacked the Arab nations. I guess when you corner a wild animal it will strike out at anytime. 6 Day War War of 1973-1974 In a nutshell this was the first time that the Arab nations had managed to make an assault on Israel. First time the Arabs struck FIRST. the 1982 war the Arabs struck again. But again pushed back. How can one small nation the size of Israel have so much power in the region when it looks like everyone is out to kill them since the Jews havs 'settled' there? They ARE agressive, and now what they are doing is no longer protecting themselves, they are looking at border expansion and they really do not care about the road map to peace.
  6. I have been keeping an eye on this and I am suprised the amount of people resigning and at the time it is happening. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/19/mcclellan/index.html GONE ARE ... Scott McClellan Karl Rove (changing roles within the Administration) Andrew Card there should be a liste of others, still looking for it. The Bush Administration is going through some major changes, and I expect more to come. These are not the first but I think these are the most important changes to happen yet. And Karl Rove will focus on pilitics again to help the Republicans maintain their foothold in the Senate and Congress.
  7. If someone is addicted to crack, isn't it better that they get their fix from a safe supply, and are able to use in a safe environment where treatment and education is readily available? Because we're not talking about free crack for the kids but an approach that treats drugs and addiction as a medical matter, not a criminal one. A point that many miss. There have been times my roomate will scrounge around the house for a few coins so he can go buy a pack of smokes. He runs around like a crack addict if he does not get his fix. How other drugs are worse than this, I cannot imagine. Medical treatment for an addiction. Blueblood You are forgetting how your product gets to my table after you sold all your goods to the market. People take it, process it, make it into things. And you have people overlooking every aspect of the process from you planting the seed to me buying bread in the local store. If everyone did nothing but back breaking work, then nothing would get accomplished. You still need people with brains and GOOD ones to keep the system working as it is. You SHOULD garner some respect for a CEO and other eggheads, otherwise your goods may never get to my table. There is alot more to the scope than just the farmer. If no one else was there Blueblood, not only would you have the physical load to bear, but also the mental one. You can farm all freaking day if you like, but if there is no means for you to move/sell your goods, you are stuck with doing everything yourself. Your work load is twice as large now. We can also get into the aspect of your equipment and how it is fuels. Most of the equipment you have is made by machines and people with smarty brains are controlling the computers to make your tractors, your combines your everything. We can take this all away and go back to where we were before the steam tractor, since physical work is where you throw your respect. BUT I highly doubt you would want to go back to those days. Bluueblood, it takes all kinds for this planet to work in the way that it is. You have your part, we have ours. DON'T forget that Now back to the topic. If you do not like what you see on TV then just turn the damn thing off!! I live in Ottawa and I do not listen to radio, I do not watch TV, but I am online with the Internet alot. If you do not like things shoved in your face, you can just turn the TV off, I used that option and it works for me. No more mind numbing stupid TV. (I was at my parents over the weekend for easter and I spent more time on the PC than at the TV, I flipped through for 20 minutes did not find SQUAT that was interesting. Moderation like everything else Blueblood. No respect for anyone driving under the influence of anything (even fatigue will cause accidents). Rednecks are not cool either. I do not thing cigaretts are cool, but it is not my choice if they smoke. It is theirs. It is all about choices and your ability to have self control in the end.
  8. They are a few years away yet of actually gathering enough material for ONE single bomb, and a good chance it will be a test bomb. They are gonna have kinks. If anyone knows the kinks of nuclear testing it is the US. And by Israeli you mean Palestinian. How many resolutions against Israel on this? How many against Palestine? So for the Palestinians bombing Israel, Iran was thrown into that how? Terrorism is dealt out by Israel as well, they have very well shown that in the past with the Isreal-Arab war, the Six Day Way, ect. Israel is an aggressive state no doubts about that. Isreal with very discrete help from the US will take out some attack on Iran.
  9. Isn't there a survey posted somewhere on the thread that says 80% do not believe the official story ? Is that 80% sheep or 80% non-sheep ? I would be interested to find out how your relatives came to that conclusion. I feel that it probably bears my fears that the average person has completely lost faith in public institutions. I would be interested on how they came to that conclusion as well, I will ask next time. ....And why do we loose faith in those institutions? Maybe it is because we feel that they no longer have our best interest at heart? Or the fact that we find more things wrong with government today than we ever did?
  10. Alcohol is legal though it's still against the rules to fly a plane drunk. Even blasted, I have better reasoning skills than that. This proves that common sense, is not so common.
  11. Real work? I use my brain alot at work. I help maintain this thing you call the Internet. It is not an easy job sometimes to keep the information flowing. Just like you need to maintain the flow of your farm. I used to do alot of physical work in a grocery store. I don't see how that @$10/hour garners more respect than me sitting at a chair using my brain all day @$15/hour. Both are tough in different ways. I respect farmers and I also respect other peoples choices in careers. There are also workaholics out there as well, corporate eggheads constantly tweaking the system. Also I do not see many scientists that are like farmer buff. Hard to do that when trying to find a cure for HIV and cancer. Drugs existed in society for longer than we have really been moving into cities. I would go as far as to say they have always existed in society in one form or another. Now, we are not pushing our culture on you at all. If you do not want to participate in let's say legalizing drugs, I think if you had a good grip on things, that everything would for the most most part stay the same. It will have little if any effect of your daily life. If I moved back to the country you can 100% be a sure bet I would grow pot for my own personal use.
  12. Quite interesting to me. Good way of putting it as well. Actually their output will and does have an effect on the overall price on the market. They produce less, the higher it goes because of the willingness of everyone to pay in order to meet the demands. Now that is to assume that this is a very large company. Isreal is an open secret that they have nukes. No officual announcement about it at all. If a nuke is used against Iran, Isreal can launch it and since it is not official they have it, they can blame it on an 'accident' the Iranians had during a test or something like that.
  13. Was there an answer somewhere in there? There was none. So the question remains , WTF are our national interests in this place? I am doubting we had any for the 20 or so years before when it went through a brutal civil war and occupation from USSR, then run by the Taleban until the US kicked them out and threw The Puppet Karzai in. There is no freedom there, it is the same as before. Sharia Law is the law of the land, the same as under the Taleban. So do not give me any of that freedom crap. They were free to install a form of Islamic Law which they had before. It would be like someone wanting to invade Canada, saying that we are free now. And we would be free to choose the same system as we had it before and such. No change. It is the way we are. And that is the way they are. National Interests to me would be something like a permanent military presence and resources. That is the reason the US is there. Not democracy or freedom. Overall I would not hesitate to say that the average Canadian's view is not in line with the US's. Yes, Canadians ask really obvious stupid questions. But we do it in a sarcastic rhetorical sense that we have already predicted what your response/answer would be. Oil is the major factor for the US being in that region.
  14. What I find funny is that I was talking to my grandparents and my parents over the weekend. They all think that the US did it to themselves. My mom even shocked me and told me she things the Kennedy Assasination was done by the US government. Makes me proud actually. No my family is not crazy. But overall I will say this, people IN the US will go with the official report. Many people OUTside the US will think otherwise or at least look at both options. Most people I talk to at work, friends ect say that this was done by the US themselves. My mom said point blank,'yah most likely it happened to gain support for a war. She does not even know who Alex Jones is. She does not even play on the Internet that much. How did she come to this conclusion then? Also my 80 year old grandmother thinks that the US did it to themselves, I was shocked. I thought I was gonna sound crazy when bringing up the topic. The fact is there is a growing number of people who do not believe the official story. I am one of them. Don't be a sheep.
  15. That's what the drunk driver said: "I've had several pints....but I'm okay. I can drive." Then you read about them in the papers. And you hear about the people they've maimed or killed. But I'm not driving anyway. I'm just posting on the Internet. It's a stretch to say I shouldn't get high on weed because someone drunk on a very, very different substance doesn't know how to use their discretion. Also you must have the same responsibility when high or drunk. You just DON'T get behind the wheel. Driving under the influence of alcohol or wee or any drug is just very very very very stupid. And you should suffer the consequences for that period. I smoke at night, weekends, days off. NEVER before work. NEVER before important meetings/functions. I agree that alcohol is a gateway drug, if it was not for booze, I may not have ever tried weed, or excasty or mushrooms. For some reason though I do not smoke cigarettes.
  16. I am a long term marijuana user. I rarely drink. Alcohol makes me a very angry and bad man. There have been times I have blacked out and not know wtf I did the night before. I have yet to experience that with weed along with hangover, memory loss, and the sense of being out of control. I can control the buzz with weed on my own, alcohol does not let me do that. Mushrooms do not allow me that control either. Weed is the least of your worries when it comes to drugs. But people say that pot heads are unmotivated and are loosers who do not have a job or on welfare. I know more people today smoking pot as adults than I ever did when I was a kid. Even in college. The war on drugs is lost, there is more drugs. The war on poverty was lost, there is more poverty. Simply the governments approach does not work anymore. Time to rethink things and start being more progressive and interactive at the same time. How many MPs use drugs? Some do, and if you think they don't? You are only fooling yourself. And some of these MPs are making money on it. I totaly support legalizing all drugs. If you want to waste your life on it go for it. If you can do things in moderation, it will not overall affect your life in any way shape or form. You must have control over it. Tax that stuff and make some money for the government and use that money to improve our overal daily lives. OH but you say that won't work? Well as it is, the government is always budgeting for this and for that, cash is limited and some programs get axed. If the weed industry in B.C. can generate 4.2 billion dollars of revenue for those crooks. Bring them into the envelope, the loop, and this way you get a closer look at what is going on and there fore MORE control and REAL drug control. The joke is that coke is a 'controlled substance'. Uh huh, sure that makes sense. The money you can dump back into society for better schools, better hospitals, better law enforcement. Better everything. You might also find that alot of illegal gang activity would vanish along with the murders and crime that goes along with that. Some will abuse the drug anyways. Inevitable, and unavoidable. Take away the appeal of consuming an illegal drug and later on it is not a thrill anymore. Do you all remember how you used to sneaka drink here and there or a beer when you were underage? Remember the fun you had knowing it was wrong and you could get into alot of crap? Take that away. Problem is not hard to solve. Society is not going to go down the freakin tubes if we go this route. Amsterdam is a wonderful place I am told.
  17. I have. Look up Operation Northwoods. The gov't believed something like this was possible, if they didn't Northwoods would not have got all the way up to Kennedy. I tried that approach, and alot here will disregard it. Come at it another angle. Eventhough the Northwoods Documents are actual fact now. History lessons are lost by those who do not learn them. I am with you, I think 9/11 was planned, but I am still trying to figure out WHO planned it. No one seems to like Alex Jones , he is quite passionate on the mic when talking about it, so that will put people off from him. But I think he is great.
  18. Exactly. Fact is, there is no proof of any real ties, just your assumptions. We all know if there was any real evidence of Al Qaeda/Iraq cooperation, the U.S. would be trumpeting from the mountaintops. But they've done nohing but backpedal away from their earlier claims of ties between the regime and AQ. Why do you suppose that is? Why the hell would the Bush administration sit on information that would benefit them imensely? I've asked that many times before (in relaton to this, the WMD issues etc.) and you've never once answered why that is, which leads me to beleive you know very well you're claims are unsupportable, yet you cling to them anyway in a staggering display of intellectual dishonesty and partisan blindness. How pathetic can you get? Seriously. What do you want? Photographic evidence? Bush has spoken numerous times about Al Qaeda links to Saddam's terrorist haven. What the hell? Do you think Bush should have daily addresses to the nation, or daily press conferences? Read a book about Bush. He doesn't think the press speaks for the country. I agree. Also, he's got work to do instead of playing immature political games. Like Harper, he knows that the press is hostile to conservatives. Only the most stubborn pigheaded partisan would deny that Al Qaeda had numerous ties with Saddam's Iraq. They've even found documents in Iraq proving this. The 2 chairmen of the 9-11 commission said that there was numerous links between Iraq and Al Qaeda; they just couldn't find enough proof that Saddam collaborated with Al Qaeda in 9-11. But Bush never said Saddam was involved in 9-11 (although a federal judge made a legal ruling that Iraq was involved in 9-11). It's difficult to take you seriously... And now they art saying there were no ties between Al-Queada and Iraq. Why the about face? Why? For the reason there was not enough proof? Well dude, you do need the proof if you are going to back anything up. Why create bullshit reasons for war when those articles never existed in the first place? If there was real solid ties between the two, we would have seen it.
  19. KrustKidd Sharon and his Lukid party were the ones to bring anything like this to the table. He was one of THE first for a pull out program. He had alot of opposition for that plan, and went ahead with it anyways. He relocated some Jews to other Isreali areas. Now he is in a coma, and he may never recover. I actually had HOPE with Sharon. He made things happen. Or at least I would like to think he was the right man for that job. To say that they will evacuate within 4 years seems to follow the path of permanantly establishing borders by 2010. Cannot evacuate land that you now consider part of your country.
  20. I am wanting to see this movie as well. I am expeciting a glorified Hollywood style movie myself. But I could be wrong. There has been quite a bit of 9/11 news in the past month or so.
  21. Here is an UPDATE on the AT&T NSA Spy Program. http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,70650-0.html HAHA !!! In all, I could not really give 2 craps about your trade secrets at this point. If you are doing this, then the public needs to know and AT&T needs to be stopped dead in their tracks in regards to this program. Jepordize the network? Are you kidding me? When you have the NSA monitoring everything, they would know when the hacker will try to get in. I say it is already jepordized. Hepting v. AT&T http://www.eff.org/legal/cases/att/att-complaint.pdf
  22. Sorry, let me rephrase that. The ads for the Canadian Military are a mimic of the ones in the US for their army. I recall when the ads were about grace dignity and bravery, now it seems like STRAP YER GUNS ON AND LETS SHOOT SOME SHEET!!
  23. StatcanMargrace, where were the component parts for your computer manufactured? If you learn that some were made in China, do you consider that a threat to the confidentiality of your data? Oh, and Margrace, do you run Windows? And the OS was built by Bill Gates. ? So what. The issue here is the information at hand. And how it is used.
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R_5khaVFeg Holy hot damn, this is one of THE best political pieces I have ever seen. Please enjoy and if you could throw a few of your favourite videos?
  25. Both the pot and the kettle are black here, Palestinians don't want a Jewish state in their midst, and the Israelis don't want a Palestinian state. Both sides are killing each other, and some bystanders on both sides are cheering them on. Yes indeed to both. So who is right who is wrong. But this is not a matter of who is wrong. This will be a matter of who is left. One of them will loose. And it does not look like the Israelies are slowing down. I may have asked the wrong question. I was thinking why they have been brought to such desperate measures to fight? I personaly would be that way if my counrty had a chunck of land taken away from it and now that new state holds the majority of land that was once yours. I'd be a little more than pissed. And no freaking sympathy for them at all. Yes the rest of the world put them there. And alot of the bystanders do not seem to give a damn what this new country does. Blows my mind on how idiotic the whole scheme was to set up Israel there in the first place. Israel will keep expanding no matter what you and I say. So to say that they will accept and recognize the Palestinian state, I will say yes to that. When the Palestinians are 100% under Isreali control.
