Ah yes. "Etc." for all those other things Harper did that you just don't remember.
-
CPP, etc.

/facepalm

Trudeau Government lawyers are currently in court arguing in support of the Harper Government stance that Ottawa has no duty of care to veterans who served our country.

-
scribblet, they didn't campaign off the backs of veterans, really!? That's pretty myopic of you.
-
I disapprove of this now and I disapproved of it then. Waldo, grats once again on being the most partisan person on this site.
-
oh Argus!
-
All those status updates about the cold this winter and not one about the Antarctic collapse nor the exceptional drought conditions. Weird.

spot on!
-
If a status update gets beyond 10 comments, maybe it should go in a thread? Just a suggestion.

I did some "gzinta's today to figure out how much water/ice it would take to raise the sea level 4 feet. Big numbers and I think I need a beer.

The Conservative Party is facing criminal charges for the fourth election in a row after a campaign worker is caught on video saying he was ordered to tear down opponents' campaign signs.
- Show previous comments 11 more
-
So where's your video?
-
shark, it wouldn't surprise me if other parties did it, but i have no evidence of it. All these acts should be equally condemned, not excuses being made for it, or shrugging it off.
-
The Green Party would never do such a thing....
-
The Conservatives are suddenly standing up for home delivery despite trying to eliminate it during their government. smh.

Oh sure, it's okay for Waldo to demean people but those he demeans can't fight back.. your hypocrisy
-
Lol
Great comeback. "No, you are"!

24% of the total accumulated debt since Confederation was amassed under Stephen Harper.
- Show previous comments 11 more
-
Currently the Conservatives haven't paid squat on the debt. They're just creating more.
-
Come on CC.... It's how you pander to the base that counts, not what you have actually accomplished...
-
Sure...add that in and you're still not close to 24%. Harper's debt to GDP is n the 30% range...one of the lowest in the G7. Compare that with the 70% that Chretien had.
-
James Moore leaving politics. Pretty soon the CPC will have no incumbents left.

It's really mostly about pensions, you know. Those who run again and are re-elected will have to wait util 65 to collect vs today's rules which let them collect immediately on quitting or losing.
-
If I was an MP, I'd be walking out the door too. Especially if I was in my 40s or 50s. Why wait another 10 years for a pension when you can get it sooner. That's a lot of money your foregoing.
-
Nothing to stop you running again at another level either. Ottawa's mayor is happily collecting his Provincial MLA pension, while our former mayor is collecting his municipal pension while being Ontario's energy minister

Harper's private security goons have overspent their budget by $23 million
- Show previous comments 10 more
-
State a fact--Harper's private security has overspent their budgets by $23 million--and the radical right loses their god damned minds. Brilliant!
-
The only people losing their mind are the left who do suffer from the acute onset of paranoia in reaction to CPC/Harper policies, and yeah, the very existence of PM Harper.
Psychological transference politically speaking is about assigning to others what you really feel yourself, or erroneously assigning your feelings/paranoia to someone else
-
Yeah, but how about that budget though? lol
-
The NDP motion to make the executive branch more accountable receives support from all parties, including a few of the CPC backbenchers. Still doesn't pass though. Harper's government doesn't care about accountability.

Shady, I assume you're a grown man capable of looking up the details of this story that has been on the front page of every news outlet on your own, but give me a minute and I will give you a link to the proposed text which is virtually the same as the old text.

I'll start a thread

Why on earth is minimum wage below the poverty line?
- Show previous comments 10 more
-
Your conclusion that it would plunge the economy into a recession is false. The provinces that have raised minimum wage over the last decade haven't even seen job losses that some conservative economists claimed, let alone plunging the provinces into recession. In fact, it seems very likely that raising minimum wage gives the lowest earners more money to buy the necessities they leave, supporting the local economies, and either balancing out job losses or creating more jobs.
-
You compared the min. wage to the poverty line. What, you think they should get a raise but stay below the poverty line? What exactly are you saying here? Perhaps you should start a thread. As I said, raising the min wage to above poverty line, since you mentioned the poverty line, would have dire consequences. A 50 cent raise would not.
-
What I'm saying is why is someone who works full-time living in poverty? Do you not see something wrong with that?

Green energy sector jobs surpass total oil sands employment. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/energy-and-resources/green-energy-sector-jobs-surpass-oil-sand-employment-total/article21859169/

Well since we are into math, here's some for ya: CERI concludes that the WTI break even price for tar sands oil is $84.99, assuming a 12.5% return. For a new that goes up to $105.54. US shale at break even between 60-80.
-
You didn't even read the article I posted, did you? PS...your CERI study is based on a number of assumptions including the exchange rate staying close to par. What happens when the CDN dollar goes down?
-
I imagine the CAD will stay down as long as our oil remains more difficult to market.

NDP surge in the polls should be published tomorrow.

I thought Harper would have an election by now to avoid the blowback from the Duffy Trial. You guys are excellent at predicting things.
-
Harper was interviewed by Mansbridge and swore he wouldn't break the promise he had already made not to change the date. I expect he was hoping Duffy would be done by then and that the blowback wouldn't be so strong.
-
Polls coming out this close to an election are not to be scoffed at like trivial info! Clear move for the NDP. The wind is in the orange crushes sails!
-
7 consecutive deficits and 2 recessions. Harper's economic record is clear.

Yeah tying the Iran deal to Harper's fiscal woes was even a stretch for Shady.

Maybe his name should be Gumby instead of Shady.
-
Hey don't leave out his partner Pokey. You know who I mean.
-
Why is Stephen Harper hiding from Question Period? He attended only a third of them in 2014 and since the Duffy trial started he has only been to 6 out of 22. This is what openness and accountability is supposed to look like?

What were the questions today about? Please tell me they aren't still asking about Duffy.
-
Nah, the Duffy questions are being now asked where they ought to be...in a court of law, were lying can get you jail time.

Im sure he's bored with the children across the isle. or aisle....

Fox news stubs their stupid toes again. Joke about female fighter pilot "boobs on the ground" Where does Fox go to gind these morons?

If she was infantry that might fit. But she is air force. So 'boobs away' would be a better fit.

I guess one's as dumb as the other now you mention it.

Harper has sold out our wheat farmers to Saudi Arabia.
- Show previous comments 9 more

Will the farmers have to follow Sharia Law to sell their wheat now? lol

I think the farmers can now be killed if they try to leave wheat and plant another crop.

Harper is reeking of desperation with talk of a hidden conspiracy to bring back the gun registry.
- Show previous comments 9 more
-
Most of what Harper has been up to lately reeks of desperation. Guttung copyright for his attack ads, moving towrd decrim. of pot laws, a little flash in the pan in Iraq. He must find some way to dislodge those damn polls.
-
They don't like the taste of their own hidden agenda medicine being thrown back in their faces. Typical hypocrisy.

I've never claimed Harper has a hidden agenda. Don't believe me? Go ahead and use the search function, punch in hidden agenda and limit the search to my posts.

Exactly. Lefties want us to cripple our economies do that countries like India and China can pick up the slack. Then out of the other side of their mouth, they complain about the loss of manufacturing and outsourcing to China. I have no f*cking use for these pieces of sh*t.

The environment is not important. You guys are a couple of clowns.

Merlin: "The environment is not important."
Shady: "Exactly."

Why can't the government simply tell parliament and Canadians how much money we will have to spend on these jets over their lifetime?

I suppose the Harper Government can't calculate the final cost until they've maximized their under the table commissions from the deal.

I suppose the NDP can't complain about the shipbuilding contracts because they won't get their cut if they do...

Some of you are so freaking stupid.

Just a thought. The World Track and Field championship is going on now in Moscow, Canadians are involved. Where is the palpable fear for the fates of those athletes?
-
Montreal was boycotted by African countries because New Zealand played rugby against South Africa and the IOC wouldn't ban New Zealand. The US and others boycotted Moscow and the
East Block boycotted LA in retaliation. It accomplished nothing except possibly show that if they can be boycotted for one reason, they can be boycotted for any old reason. I guess some still didn't get the lesson.

"Desperado" sounds kinda cool!
