  1. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2017/05/02/canadian-armed-forces-suffering-from-underfunding.html WoW it has taken the liberals how long to figure that DND is in trouble when it comes to equipment.....unnamed sources confirming we are starting from a hole position....enough so that the minister is saying it might lead to a national debate on HOW we fund our military..... For the liberals to even bring it up must mean it is serious.
  2. You make it sound like the liberals won that election because they they had the best people and best platform.........But that was not what happened at all, or have you forgotten the ANYTHING but harper campaign, where Liberals, NDP, and Green threw in with each other to get Harper out.....They got elected because NDP and Green votes went to the liberals, to ensure a Con defeat....I wonder if that is going to happen next election.....not on your life.....liberals are masters at the art of the promise, and not keeping them, shit the PM might as well be call himself Trump for all the lies and broken promises he has spewed......and the contempt thing, Did they not give parliament the info they requested, and is the liberals any further in finishing the replacement project for the F-18's.....How about solving the procurement mess....No....what have they done....well they make a great effort to point out errors and mistakes in the CONs previous government.....but really that is all they got, except broken promises....and lies....lots of lies.....Man it might be nice if they the liberals could point to some of their own successes. instead of looking back and blaming every problem we have as a nation on the cons.....
  3. Not sure why you went through all the problem of pointing out your brother in laws education levels, if only to prove to the rest of the world that he is not ignorant or backward. there are a lot of very educated people from across the middle eastern portion of the world, what confuses people in the west is this.....How can a educated person say of your brother in laws calibur follow and maintain his faith in Islam. A religion that has not changed in centuries, nor has it's followers, because it is forbidden to do so. If it can not be changed or updated the way it is set up is there is no room for growth nor can it be modernized. Then it will remain a vague religion whose interpretation can vary from peaceful to extremists... depending on the reader.....and when viewed by the west , being a media driven society , we see more of the extremist side....and so does other muslims, which garners more support for the extremists....My question is with all this education why are muslims not actively doing something to promote peaceful Islam practices to correct this entire issue...to both sides of the fences, extremists and to the west.....
  4. Has the Liberals turned our top military Generals into wanna be liberals, touting the liberal line regardless of the promised loyality ,and honor to the dept they serve.....and they preach ever that same loyalty and honor every day.......WTF.......talk about stabbing someone in the back.... Leaving our nations senators to take up the torch for DND.....Sad really ... http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/national/senators+urge+generals+stop+being+98cheerleaders+government+that/13300753/story.html
  5. Liberal government initiatives will create deep divisions in veteran community, warns advocate...Another broken liberal promise.... http://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/defence-watch/liberal-government-initiatives-will-create-deep-divisions-in-the-veteran-community
  6. Hey look , I'm not the guy that has a problem with my career choice.....I made it of my own free will....... but you sure do...and based on that fact you have a developed a problem with me, and you've said your not judgemental....go figure.
  7. For a man who claims he is all about the science, you should already know that chemical wpns are included in with the WMD's ....you can goggle that shit if you want to..... Also i have already debunked your myth about Afghanistan, or do i get your lecture on when steel melts again....
  8. Dre: Been trying to understand your Macro economics statements and have a few questions: If bringing in new Canadians is the answer as proven by your uncited sources.....then my question is why are we limiting the intake of immigrants during times of economic uncertainty...or economic down turns....If this was the magic pill as you describe it, why is it not standard practice for all nations? countries like Greece, or other struggling countries.........why is canada not bringing in millions? to boast our economy.....Or is there a fine balance to the whole equation? What is the benefit and why is it declining ? Can immigrants be replaced by new born Canadians ? You make a lot of assumptions in your scenario, my first observation would be How many of these immigrants can afford to purchase a new home ?My guess is very few ....I mean i use myself as an example when i first joined the working world i rented an apartment....then a few co workers banded together and rented an old home.....As far as buying new furniture, dishes, household stuff, was all second hand or donations..... SO far we are contributing very little to the overall System, yes we pay taxes, but i was also getting most of my taxes back, as i did not make a whole lot of money........still not as much as average Canadian worker. and i did this for the first 4 years of my life, once i had completed my education and gained a better position in the company for a higher wage.....My point is i was almost 30 before i could afford my first down payment on a home for my family....and it was not new.... I think very few new Immigrants are buying new homes, upon reaching our shores..... You've blasted Argus for attempting to explain why immigration is a net crain on our economy via taxes only.....you have said that those taxes paid out create more money than what was first spent.....Sounds like a The liberal's action plan for getting our economy started....perhaps i am not following the logic here, are you saying if the government gave every canadian a gift of 20 k plus it would have a positive effect on our economy....meaning it would end up collecting more than it spent ? ....And if it does once again why hav'nt we done it ....
  9. Yes it will always be easier.....but sometimes doing the right thing is not always easier....if this is a skill that perhaps is small in numbers then perhaps it is not cost efficient to train Canadians in this skill....But if Canada needs this skill in large numbers and the skill has longevity, then why not train Canadians , enticed through many different options. why are they not doing it...? could be as simple as not knowing what career field are opened, how many high school students know of this skill, what it pays, who has job openings, i find guidance councilors not all equally educated on what is out there and all the details in between, nor do schools really pay attention to the finge jobs, for the lack of a better word............combine this with a lack of media on the topic.....Here in NB it is all about Irving and all the jobs they bring to the table, or out west which is drying up for the most part....if you look at the classifieds you'll find a few local jobs, the rest is all out west....So i don't know why everyone is not jumping on the train....but i think with the right media coverage, tax breaks if needed one could solve this issue rather quickly.... If the government can make being an infanteer look sexy in the media they can make anything look good....
  10. I hope for his sake he can keep that promise....i know a lot of pot smokers that voted for this single issue.....if he screws this up...it might mean a closer race come election time....and judging by his success on his other promises.....won't be no legal pot either....
  11. I 100% agree with you, one could teach a monkey to use a drill.....and teaching someone to program oriented computer languages is a lot tougher.....but not impossible. unless you have discovered that Canadians are not capable of such learning feats ? which i don't think is what you meant.... In Canada if there is enough need for such a skill, such as your above example , then can we not put together a training program to solve the issue, entice people through tax breaks , free education, etc etc........ And if the numbers required for this skill are not cost efficient then i could understand why we need to import them from other source countries.....I'm not say cut immigration off totally, but reduce it , with a combination of other solutions.... But as i have said before i don't see Canada , a G-7 country being out educated by other 3 rd world countries....not that it is impossible but improbable.
  12. Really, why is that, does he plan to keep any promises in the final year.....so far he has kept very few....and even some of them that he has kept they have reversed, but good for you on holding onto hope..... To be honest , i thought he was on the right track for the first 6 months.....until reality started to set in, and promise after promise just faded away....to the point he is just like all the rest, all promises no action.....
  13. Are you saying that Canadians should not be tried by other nations for crimes they have committed against them ....Young Omar was lucky that he was not tried in Afghanistan for crimes of terrorism.....some how i don't think he would be with us today if he was.....That being said Canadians all around the world are paying for their crimes they have committed in other countries....how does this even come close to what we were discussing....Some being held in much worse conditions than young Omar...
  14. This is something i do not understand, most Canadian families, that have been here a couple or more generations , have had relatives serve in our military, to take up arms for this nation.....some families paid a steep price with one or more sons, some towns and villages were gutted by the loss of so many of their sons and daughters...i don't think there is a town or village without a monument dedicated to their memory. these monuments are gathering points for the towns. Once a year on , NOV 11, so we may honor them, remember them, because that is the pledge we took, and we retake every year in their name sake....."we shall remember" but lately that is where it stops..... Canadians have known the cost of war, and the pain that comes with all of that, and while it is not fresh in their minds they have become numb to our militaries condition today, to the point they are hostile to it, evident here , and other forums as well..... I'm not sure what to say, except, we the soldiers, airmen, and sailors are not your enemy....but rather one of you....
  15. Mining did play a huge role in Vimy sucess, but so did many other things also played a huge role, like the rolling barrage, invented and show cased for the first time in vimy, this invention allowed Canadian infantry to walk up to the enemy trench lines , while Germany infantry were pinned down, not able to get set up on the tops of the trenches with thier machine guns....Sounding and flash reporting , developed by Canadians to spot and pin piot enemy arty guns, was used before the attack , allowing our arty to eliminate or thin their guns....Table top models , Only Vimy was huge scale model showing in detail the enemies positions from every trench, gun, enemy emplacement, "every company" involved in the attack got to spend time studying it rehearsing their responsibilities... MAP's another huge asset, every SNRNCO, officer, had paper maps , that describe their route to all their objectives, on it was marked all enemy positions, trenches, enemy troop concentrations, medical aid stations, etc etc.... Vimy although not the turning point in the war , was a victory when allied troops needed it, it also seen massive improvements on how to conduct a massive troop assault. improvements that are still used today, or still taught as a back up method to the tech we have today, such as sound and flash reporting for arty, MAPs, and ground sandboxes still used today....rehearsals of actual battle procedures to be used.....is an everyday tech that our soldiers are taught as tool on the modern battle field..... And while they may not seem like much.....they changed how we fight, forever not just the Canadians but the entire world adapted these techs in one of there many forms.....
  16. I wonder how did we ever got into the industrial age if new skills and trades could not be taught to the people of those times, and now are you suggesting we have hit a wall, in the west were we can land a man on the moon but can't conquer other talents...such as the new economy......
  17. So your saying all those that did not follow your career path are not using common sense, or just dumb stupid animals....WOW.....listen everyone marches to their own drum....soldiers join for thousands of reasons, some decided by courts as an alternative, others no jobs in their local neighborhoods, some for the adventure, some for the free education,or job experience, some to travel, some join because they want to be a part of something larger, they want to serve the nation...And here i thought we lived in a free country where a person could chose their own path to walk.....No i guess not, not only to military members have to worry about getting bent over the table by our government ,but now we have to watch our backs from our own citizens.....Nobody has said you had to join the military to be somebody, it is not a life for everyone, it takes a certain type of person....and your not that type SO what.....nobody cares except you.....but that is not enough for you, instead now you've taken to media to call them names , and degrade them.....if that floats your boat....giver.....one day when you grow up, you'll see that may the military is not all that bad after all.... The military does not give one shit about what our politicians think about our military.....we have seen them come and go, from the kissinger's to the cretien's , now things go a lot better when they do approve of the military, but we don't need their approval to do our jobs.....
  18. Wilber: It seems to be the new thing around here lately.....contempt for the military, like we created all these problems and issues....
  19. Been tipping back a few tax me, who the hell cares what kissinger said about anything, since when did everyone start putting that idiots opinion as something to attain to.....or be compared to....Our nations military and the US military is made up of young men and women for our homes, streets, neighborhoods, the are our citizens and yet they are stupid animals sounds like he had a good opinion about it's citizens....he was impeached right.....showed great judgement....
  20. No Rue, am i am sorry for not providing some detail with my post...., that state that the cost to Canadian taxpayers for immigration, was estimated net costs of 35 bil dollars a year.... http://immigrationwatchcanada.org/ That is a lot of cash....more than enough to fund a program that encourages Canadians to have babies.....but also fund a national child care program..... Studies have already shown that immigration will not stop our pending issue of a older population base....it will slow it down but it in it's self will not stop it... So immigration is not the answer nor short term goal.....there needs to be another answer, with a full set of other solutions.....one of the main reason families do not have more children is the cost , the cost of child care is sky high, and the other cost cutting programs or rebates do not make it even come close to make people reconsider having larger families.....we need an incentive to have families grow in size from the average 1.2 kids today to a minimum of 4 or 5.....much like the baby boomer generation. Now when it comes to highly skilled labours being brought into Canada in 2016 were 58,400, infact the total number of skilled or semi skilled workers was 160,000 out of 300,000....just a little over half....the others include Spouses, Partners and Children,Parents and Grandparents, and other.....and while these are important to some Canadian citizens.....they represent a huge draw on resources, as most do not earn a wage or pay taxes, but rather draw tax dollars for medicare etc....Not that this country can not support both or multiply programs to solve out issues... ..http://canadaimmigrants.com/canadas-immigration-targets-2016/ Once again one has to ask could we not give out either free education, to those field we are short in, or provide a huge tax relief or discount of some sort to Canadian kids.....we seem to swallow this "Immigration" will solve all our issues, create more jobs, through new homes , etc etc ....but do we not do that now with Canadians, they move out of the house, they rent, and once they get established they purchase homes.....why do we need to be the worlds piggy bank, providing immigrants with jobs, that they can't find in their country, or they earn much more here in the west.....why not give those jobs to Canadians... I get it it is not going to happen over night....it will take a generation to slow the flow of immigrants.....to a more reasonable levels..... someone would say we are a diverse nation, a melting pot....problem with melting pots is everyone gets mixed in and we become a mut of some sort......not what we have today in our big cities.....what we have is the UN .....ever been down town lately, drive a few blocks and your in china town, drive a few more and your in little jamaica, or in Persia, it's goes on and on....that is not diversity...i meet a chinese man down town TO, been there for 25 years could barely speak english...why bother he said every one here speaks chinese here, and if they don't i get someone that can speak english.....they have just transplanted themselves from their nations to ours....nothing changed....we pat ourselves on the back and say we are diverse.....are we really ?
  21. I guess not everyone got the memo.....Vimy was the first time that the Canadian army and it's 4 divisions fought as one group under our own flag, it was Canadians that made the plans, it was Canadians that lead their own troops into battle for the first time, instead of some other nation.....it was the first time we were not subservient to the British army......it was the first time we marched to our own drum......
  22. Really can't see that happening , judging by some of your responses here, how could anyone misconstrue your comments then assault you, here in Canada.........i think you were probably talking while you were suppose to be weaving...maybe next time, call it part of the learning curve..... They did a good enough job ,so that people like you could post trash , and then complain about freedom of speech.....your not that guy are you scared of getting picked up by the man, because of what you wrote.....always looking over your shoulder.....you don't hide under you bed, or wet your pants do you.....
  23. Yes any man or a women must be an idiot to serve this nation, to answer the call when ever needed. Be it the defense of this nation or it's foreign policy, be it in time of need such as search and rescue, fighting forest fires, floods, or ice storms.....we are the idiots that have never once in our recorded history, failed to come to your aid....we are the same idiots that have died in the thousands to earn the freedoms we have now, we are the idiots that gave birth to this nation on Vimy ridge......We are the same idiots that come from average Canadian families, who are your fathers , mothers, brothers , sisters, aunts. uncles, cousins, friends.....every Canadian knows at least one of us idiots....every town or village has constructed memorials to the idiot citizens that have answered our nations call, everyone of those idiots have their names carved in stone.....for their sacrifice....where is your named carved..... What is sad is today, like yesterday the a lot of Canadians think those veil, disgusting, uncouth, Idiots should be kept in a glass jar, with a huge sign that reads break only in case of emergency..... Not sure what your afraid of, but then again they say you you fear what you know nothing about.....you blame them for all your troubles because once again you know nothing about them....perhaps your jealous, or envious i'm not really sure..... Members in our military walk among us everyday, they are law abiding citizens just like you and me, they love hockey , and everything about Canada.....they pay the same rate of taxes as you and me, they get to vote just like you and me. they have families, children and even friends, go figure, they are Canadian just like you and me.............they have a great interest in how our country is run.....and in return We ask them to forego many of the freedoms me and you have, we ask them to travel to the worlds shit holes and support our nations foreign policies, we ask them to live in conditions not fit for a rat, we ask them to do carry out violence if necessary on our behalf, we ask them to unconditional lay their lives down if necessary ....we ask a lot of these idiots....one would have to ask what is it that you do that puts yourself above these men and women, what is it that you do that gives you the right to judge them as idiots....because in the end we are all the same, Canadians.....but that means nothing to you does it.... Most Canadians such as your self would be hard press to list what our military does for you on a day to day basis.....this is their thanks you have bestowed upon them ...."Thanks God, modern democracies keep army idiots under a leash." because our military has shown time after time again , that it makes lousy foreign policy decisions here in Canada, that we secretively run this nation, that we have a proven record of taken part in coups within our own nation, justing discourse, that we continued to do things that have eroded your trust....Perhaps i may be wrong, it is the Canadian military we are talking about is it not..... I know that you have not taken this course yet, however our nations military is a form of diplomacy that our elected politicians have at their disposal....we don't do anything unless directed by those elected officials... No need to fear our military.....we are not idiots or monsters, you paint us to be....we are Canadians....
  24. How much money is spent on immigration and refugees every year in Canada ? Why not use that money to fund either child care, or increase child care benifits....Pay Canadians to have more babies......and then cut back on immigration....
  25. O leary would bring in the devil himself if he thought it would give him the support he needs, he is turning into a politician more and more everyday, canadians don't want more politicians ...we want someone to lead this country.............everything i have seen so far is he wants to please ....we already have a PM that wants to please everyone , but can't keep a promise ....What we need is a PM with leadership skills that will do what is best for the nation, if it is popular or not......i don't care if that's a liberal , cons, NDP...i'm tried of half wits and half measures.....Mr O'leary show us some leadership....stop messing around with those liberal half baked ideas.....train Canadians for those positions, .
