  1. Please do tell, give us some examples of how we have not been free loading.....how our contributions are in line with all the rest of the nations in NATO.....
  2. Who is talking about the US, US did this , US did that.....you cares....If your saying that the middle east is a peaceful nation , one that follows Islam as it is written, the religion of peace.....and that it is Americans fault because they can not live with each other, let alone with anyone else........i mean the facts are there black and white Muslims kill more Muslims than any other race in the world, turn on your TV.....and there will be a muslim mentioned tonight...every night, .....how are we suppose to translate that into the worlds most peaceful religion.......That is is the US fault them infidel bastards.......
  3. Of course you are stating the obvious , could you perhaps tell us the numbers of non white workers and the numbers of white workers at all the job sites, i mean you claim that it was namely non white workers that constructed transport infra structure.....I'd like to know what the percentages where....had to be some poor white guys mixed in there right.... I would say it is a huge issue for both sides of the house would it not.........that is not diversity....or the mixing pot that our fore fathers had in mind....most large cities, one can name a area and a local can tell you the ethic back ground of that area.....How is it that in a lot of larger citys, there is china towns , where even the store names are in chinese, the working language is chinese, the culture is chinese, How is that diversity.....one could provide examples for most cultures in our larger cities....take a drive down most of these areas, and you'll see, there is no attempt to become Canadian....you'd be hard pressed to see anything Canadian in these blocks....I am not saying there is not people who have become part of the diversity project, and except both cultures as equal....i mean Indi culture have their own hockey night in Canada.....in indi ....diveristy i thought was a 50 /50 deal.....but in our larger cities it does not mean that at all, it's china town or little indi, etc etc....and you can't tell me you can't get good curry from an indi family in the suburbs, that have attempted to at least make a 50 50 attempt.... Why would i care because like i have said some cultures for some countries do not have the job skills or education to get a average paying job in the cities , and when you band enough of them together then these areas are the poorer areas around town, soon to become slums....Yes it happens to white people as well....has our government down anything to correct the problem....no, instead they continue the same strategy as last uear hoping for a different result...Cut back on the numbers of these cultures, and invest money into getting them the training and education to get good jobs....but that would be racist.....because now we are targeting a specific peoples .....They are not paying their taxes....you need to earn a certain dollar value before you pay taxes.....are you telling me that these small communities around each city everyone is trying to live the american dream....that they are pursuing education, getting good paying jobs and moving out of the slums...because they are getting bigger not smaller......what is the problem....
  4. There is some good news in this budget in reference our Veterans.....And it does tackle some of the issues vets are having .....additions to more programs that are going to be offered.....see below, everything is all good.....however and there is always a however, they big issue and one that the PM campaigned on as a election promise was he would bring in life long pensions....Not so much right now they are taking the current pay out, and dividing it up for as long as they can.....and when that magic pay out is reached thats it, your cut off....where the last system we have in place was for life...meaning until member died.....now it does cost more because we don't know when each member is going to die....but our government has a way to control this, these payments will be taken out of your CPP when they are eligible to receive that...so for one government pocket into another....Another ongoing battle that vets have with their government...... Did i also mention that the total amount one can receive is 360,000....that payout is a rare figure, and rarely do they pay out that value...most soldier would likely see way less than half of that.....over their life times...one could receive more on poggy over 20 years time.... http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/federal-budget-leaves-uncertainty-over-defence-spending-veterans-pensions http://www.metronews.ca/news/canada/2017/03/22/feds-provide-more-cash-for-injured-vets-but-leave-pension-question-unanswered.html
  5. Why is the liberals painting themselves into a corner like this, they have just come out and said all future purchase projects are pushed to 2030.....and in the next breath they say wait until the Defense review is announce later in the year.....that will explain everything.....Sorry but you have left me dumbfounded....not hard to confuse an army guy, but how does one say we are stripping that 8.4 bil in spending out of DND budget, and might return it in 2030....does the liberals know something we do not , seems they are counting on winning the next 3 elections....and even then they don't really need to keep their word, who is going to remember.....DND is going to remember..... SO what they fail to explain is how does this sit with the interim F-18E buy , are we getting them or not, what about logistic vehs the army desperately needs, what about the ship project....are they all defered to 2030....I will be the first to admit i was hoping that the military gods had convinced the liberals that they needed to take some action on defense procurement....i mean they were on the way to quickly break the Cons purchasing record.....now it looks like we will have to wait on a new government .....which could take years.... At what point will we buy new equipment, the F-18 are good until just after 2025, the ships until roughly the same period...if we have a contract in place soon....at what point are Canadians going to stand up and make them do something.....I guess we are waiting until 2030..... I had placed a lot of hope on the new US government in pushing us to spend a little more, and regardless of all the pomp that the US said it wanted out of NATO partners .....our PM responds with a pretty blunt message....hell no we are doing nothing until 2030....can't wait to see the us reaction to that news......Maybe there is some underlying issue that we do not know about.....but one has to ask.....why the sudden 180 on defense spending.... http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/liberal-budget-military-2017-1.4035424 http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/federal-budget-leaves-uncertainty-over-defence-spending-veterans-pensions
  6. It seems like your stating a fact that Indians, and Pakistanis are responsible for building the UK...a while they may have played a small part in doing that you have forgotten the many other races that did more for the UK than say the indians or Pakistanis.... How does the fact that today most races, creeds, religion types, language tend to gyrate together in these cities, and form there own groups, speaking their own language, continuing with their own cultures, and religious practices....not bothering to conform or try to fit in with Canadian culture or in the example provided with British culture....This is by no means the multi cultural country that most people are trying to sell in Canada anyways.....it's all bullshit....they did not come here to be part of some pet project that a few white boys of privilege play at meaning our government. They came to be part of the Canadian dream we live every day....to get a taste of our freedoms and rights....because they have proven over and over again they can not live together peacefully with they're own kind..... It is fact that some cultures do not do as well as others, with little work skills, or employment skills they become more dependant on social welfare....with entire communities of the same people , in the same situation they become areas of the city no many want to vist, let alone live....Stating this fact is racist how, because of the language used, or the way it was presented....
  7. And i was asking you a question, or is that not allowed. I think Blackbird is pretty clear that he understands what our military is for, and to what they're responsibilities are, which lead me to the same conclusion your having right now, How could this be interpreted as him not knowing....unless your fishing for something else.....hence my question.
  8. You don't sound convinced Michael, that our nations military does look after our national interest when it can....including goodwill.
  9. Your not talking about the ones that were posted on here are you, with beaches, cabins, fire pits, BBQ's.....Ya they got it really bad, 3 square meals a day, a roof over there heads to protect them from the environment, guards and cameras everywhere, while here in our own streets our homeless suffer much worse and they have not been convicted of anything.....lots of Canadians suffer more than our convicts do.....and they manage to stay out of prison, obey the rules of law....and are we concern about them functioning in society.... Do you think Canada is going to jail a terrorist for any great period of time....because our history says other wise, look at Omar....look at the FLQ gang, sent to cuba, with some of them living in Canada right now , free and clear....Yes we have new laws that not allow 25 years to be assigned for each person killed....but it is just a recent law, and i have no doubt it will be repealed for some humanitarian reason.... If you had read my post it says if a terrorist commits a terrorist act in Canada by all means apply the full weight of Canadian law lock him up in a Canadian jail........However if the Terrorist act was committed in another country then we should deport them to that country to face the criminal charges of terrorism.....do you really think that this country is just going to let him go, after committing a terrorist act in their country....not likely...And i'm sure one does not have to have a treaty to return criminals if both states are willing to do the exchange....NO our concerns are will they will likely kill them out right, or will they torture them....that is what stops Canada from returning bad guys to muslim countries....not because they will let them go....
  10. Hey the last time i checked this topic was about ,Our soldiers suffer while caught in the middle, want to high jack a thread try your own, or the on i started for you.....
  11. Your right our military is a tool that is used in our enforcement of our foreign policy, along with our obligations towards NATO....... Pipelines....not so much, there are no pipelines running through Afghanistan, not then and not now....Maybe one day....but not today....you can believe what ever you like.....But for the Soldiers on the ground this mission was what ever we put into it....and to say we did not benefit the average Afghani is false....below is some areas were we helped individual afghanis citizens.....note that the list does not include the effort , time, and funding provided by soldier initiatives that seen schools built, ambulances/ fire trucks purchased, the hundreds of wells drilled.....along with the projects started by soldiers families like all the hats and mittens knitted by grandmothers of soldiers, the kids winter clothing collected by soldiers wives.... not to mention the vast effort of regular Canadian citizens and their clothing drives/toys drives , school supplies, etc etc..... To say we did not have a personal effect on the people in our vast area of operations is false...to say it was not part of the plan is false..... Did i enrich some corporate types....perhaps if they produced ammo for the CF then yes i did contribute ....if you mean was i guarding the non existent pipelines, or open pit mines that are reported to have exist then ,....no .....never seen any of that shit.....I spent my tours in the back of a lav most of the time, driving around looking for bad men....making Afghan just a little safer one bad guy at a time....they spent their time terrorizing the locals and trying to blow me up.....
  12. If the terrorist act was committed in Canada then i would say yes, lock him up 25 years for every life taken.....however if the terrorist act was committed in another country, i would say take his citizenship, and put them on a plane....so no cost incurred to Canada for incarceration, stripping of citizen will deter them from coming back to Canada. Canadian prisons are a joke, summer retreats, sending them back is another form of punishment.... nothing like a good old fashioned Muslim prison....
  13. I wish people would educate themselves soon, I see the effects every week in the media, more and more suicides, i hear from my comrades that so and so, has lost everything money, home, family and was last seen downtown toronto homeless, i also hear to many stories of vets losing homes, and everything the bank owns, they worked all their careers to get, because pensions payments are 4-5-6 months late, try telling your bank Hey our government is good for the money.....they smile,...and tell you sorry they is nothing we can do, you have 60 days to make good on all your payments....60 days come and goes, the sheriff or RCMP arrive at your home to kick you out....you have served the nation for 25 plus years, been on countless tours of duty, risked your life on each one at least once. the police guy shrugs his shoulders....sorry, i'm just doing my job... it is a slap in your face, that everything you believed in is starting to crumble....you thought that would not happen in Canada.....we are wrong....it happens all the time....and it is happening to our vets.... How many times has the soldier that lost both of his legs in combat in the service of his country, had to prove to his government that he did in fact loss his legs , and that by some miracle they did not grow back...every year he does this every year it gets reported in the media....he is not alone, and his numbers grow daily....
  14. That is not the case at all, the military does have it's own medical care system, and for specialist they are contracted out like anything else they don't have....they are the cheapest bidders.....like any branch or job you have a broad spectrum of talent, some good, most average, and some losers....during the afghan conflict our surgeons were some of the best in the world, on one tour they could receive a life time of experience...after the conflict they took that experience and moved on to the civilian world....not all of them but most of them...it was not so we would have a better health care system, but rather more of our injuries are not unique to the civilian world, wounds such as gun shot, or from explosives, or severe burns.....not saying they don't happen in the civilian world just that they are less common...The Canadian hospital in KAF would see hundreds of soldiers each day around the clock....from the stomach flu, to people blown up losing both legs from the hips down was a common injury in a IED blast, it takes a special person to see and work with that every day for 6 months at a time..... Once soldiers are deemed unfit for military duty, the are released....back into civilian world....where we are not accepted as one of you, we are told we need to wait the manitory 6 months before we can get provincial medicare coverage, we are not entitled to work mans comp, but have to apply to the VAC for some form of compensation, such as getting wheel chair access into your home, to make your home wheel chair friendly....do you know who use to do all of that....Canadian soldiers would get to together build it for their returning buddy out of their own pockets....the family would not only have to deal with receiving their father/ husband back from the US hospital in Germany who had everything amputated from the hips down, but the spouse would have to go to the bank and secure a loan to improve the inside of the house...159 members were killed in Afghanistan.....10 times that were wounded.....so it happened a lot.... VAC was suppose to be for vets.....and yet the entire process to have a claim read or actioned was done by a committee that had never served, never been to combat, had no idea on what the military did....so when your trying to explain to them that a rucksack weighed in at 110 lbs, plus you had on top of that your fighting kit that weighed in at another 40 lbs....they could not fathom just how heavy that is....and have shrugged that piece of evidence off as to contributing to back problems...Note: Every committee is made up of different people all the time, so they do not benefit from any experience... These committees are made up of the average Canadian citizen, and they want the biggest bang for their tax dollar....I am not sure what they are briefed before they start deliberation, but only a few rare cases have been awarded the maximum claim which today is 360,000 a one time payment....every blue moon is when the maximum is awarded , normally done when the member has died....but not in all cases, death of a member is not an automatic maximum pay out.....Note that a member if his condition gets worse can reapply for another hearing and if it is positive then may receive a smaller pay out....But it will not exceed the maximum of 360,000 in one life time.... Problem with a payout is once the vet pays all of his bills there is not enough to live off for the rest of his life.....that is why we wanted to bring back the monthly check back in, so the pay out last longer and in some cases lasts until CPP kicks in.... Just for the record Dept of vet affairs has turned in Bils of unused tax dollars most years.... So where do soldiers turn to in their time of need , freinds and family, but for a vet with PTSD even family has a limit on patients and money, these people men and women are then forced onto the streets.... It's one thing to buy a bumper sticker and say you support our troops....it's another to write your MP and demand things change.....it is not right what is happening.... So when you say this is a bureaucrats problem ...your right , but we all know they won't take action until the people demand they do.....so until then Vets get the shitty end of the stick....
  15. Hard to tell the difference, i mean look at some of these posts and you'll see what i mean.....this is the way the majority of canadians feel like, or they don't care one way or another..... Because if they gave a shit.....things would have changed by now....
  16. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the public being so educated with the conditions of our military....and those that served our nation....
  17. Your right i did volunteer, and while you were hiding in moms basement or in the tree in the backyard, many like me were over helping others that could not help themselves....i know that is despicable... and reprehensible to guys like you , because you can not fathom a world that does not have you in the center of it...it's OK .....what we did over there was for all Canadians, including the little dudes just like you eyeball.....thanks for your tax dollars, they were well spent.... Way to go eyeball, you were paying attention to all those stories.....but you have nothing to worry about, it's not you that lives with those nightmares is it....it's those soldiers that you hate so much....you know the ones that can't get the help they need....don't worry they are still getting bent over the table by our government, In your mind we are responsible for everything that happened in the conflict, like we did not have enough to worry about like surviving the next day, or wondering how many of your friends or comrades were going to die that day..... Your right there were some soldiers that did nothing....and they're were soldiers that did do something...it was a soldier that reported it to the media, it was soldiers that took matters into their own hands and assaulted a police station, arresting then later ordered to release those that were known for those activities....never read that in the papers did ya....maybe if the media left the camp....there are lots of things that never made the media...but who cares, your concern is not with our soldiers .....it is with yourself and your own disability to be so selfish....If it was not for guys like us eyeball you would not have anything to complain about ....except that damn squirrel that keeps steeling your nuts....what ever helps you sleep at night....
  18. I read everything you said, that because they were not conscripted they do not rate any of your concern. but they also do not qualify for care under the same benefits as regular Canadians do, such as work mans comp, or even provincial health care until the prescribe time has elapsed.....
  19. Well it seems i can't call you an idiot or for that matter any other name, we have rules and we can not be calling member names.....at least according to my number one fan... not sure of your last nationality but here in Canada the things you suggest our military of being capable of would be like saying the leafs are capable of winning this years Cup...plausible but very unlikely.....
  20. Been reading scary stories under your bed again.....When has our nations military posed a threat to the Canadian people.....drum role please.....never... Perhaps you can provide a source that would explain all of these fears you have about our military...
  21. Your interesting fact is only partly correct .......your 100 % correct in stating that our military along with RCMP and all other governmental depts does not work directly for the people of Canada, .....most come under command of the PM with exception of DND, it works directly for the Governor General technical.....this is a safe guard built in to the system so if the elected government would ever declare the Canadian people an enemy it could not order our military to take action on the Canadian people with out royal assent..........it would need direct approval via the crown ( Queen)or Governor General....* note that this has never happened, and the crown has never override the PM orders to date. Sorry but there is no conspiracy theory here......maybe they did not have that on your citizens test did they Mini eyeball.... Perhaps eyeballs little brother can tell us when the last time the Crown has issued orders that the PM disagreed with....wait a minute Never....and while the Militaries boss is the Governor General they( military) have always followed commands issued by the PM, With one exception during the Cuban missile crisis Canadian Navy dismissed orders from the PM , and instead maintained the block aid around the Island of Cuba..... you can look that up in goggle if you'd like.....
  22. Not sure what caused all this anger towards the military, maybe some army guy stole your girl friend, or maybe your boy friend never know these days, and all that experience has left a bad taste in your month..... It must piss you right off that a soldier forced to retire because of being medical or mentally released, still leave you in the dust when it comes to being the best person for the job....man that has got to hurt, getting your boy friend stolen then losing a job to a military girl that was a much better candidate than you....what did you say you studied again, assistance manger at McDonald's.
  23. So what your saying is all public servants should be conscripted , in order to get your attention, in other words what your saying is unless conscripted, we the public service can go pound salt....people like military, police, fire fighters, well you know the list.....we are not worth the shit on your boots....and yet our employer seems to agree with you. that they are free to use it's citizens for any purpose at all , and when they are no longer able to be useful they are discarded, with no compensation.....how does that work in your world Eyeballs, can you do that legally....are are employees protected....i wonder did they get conscripted, why are you able to plug into benefits and yet military persons not..... See here is the thing eyeballs, our government is elected by the Canadian people, we have also excepted that we will accept those election results and work with them....that means you and me....Now if you don't like the elected government then you can use your freedoms given to you by the government to voice your disconcern...raise enough concern and you will gain support for your cause.....or you can sit in your lofty tree, complaining and whining that you really never ever took up a cause, instead your content to let others do the dirty work for you....
  24. but to do and die.....I get it....i have written my MP already several times....they do respond, but nothing concrete.....but perhaps enough of us will complain and something will get done....one can always hope....
  25. your right we were cast aside because we did not rate ....it pissed a lot of soldiers off when Omar khadr thing was going on.....how a terrorist was going to be treated better by our government than our very own soldiers....His family was well looked after.....while our soldiers had to beg for medical help....our VAC treating us like beggars in the streets....offering ridiculously low pay outs....I remember one of my comrades , who had been blown up by a IED on a donkey, and lost his testicle, it had been removed by a piece of donkey bone.....the VAC offered him 1200.00 because some bean counter had said that is what one testy is worth....he redress it.....resubmitted it for a another review....on the second review they offered him 1600.00 that was their final offer.....( review panels are made up of various members of the Vac staff, and a medical officer, it is set up like a court proceeding , a lawyer is present, you and your lawyer is present....the entire time no one has a clue what it is like to serve or be in combat.....kind of hard to explain to them what it is like when they have no clue.....It was never the same review board they only sat for that one day....never to come back.... If you got them in the morning it was pay day sort of ...late in the afternoon, it was nothing but head bobing and yawns).....he told the review panel to stick their 1600 up their asses....of course they phone our commanding officer to complain he then charged him with behavior unbecoming a soldier, they charged him 800. 00....so today he lives with that constant memory and pain of having gone to afghanistan 4 times and paid the government for the honor of getting one of his nuts blown off for 800.00 dollars. and while all this was going on their was talk of our government going to pay out omar a huge multi million dollar pay out....for being on the other side....all of this was pumped over seas for our viewing pleasure....kind of hard to keep moral up when our own citizens are demanding huge pay outs for terrorists, and nothing for our own troops.... I can remember the running dark humoured joke at the time was to ask around camp how we could get a job working for the taliban because they paid more....the Canadian government paid out more....or when the politicians would have a dog and pony show, and a soldier would ask when are we getting new equipment ....and the politicians would come back with there is no more funding for that....(That was code for not enough soldiers have died yet).and wonder why they would get heckled there is no more money because your paying out terrorist, or giving it out to Canada's number one family the Khadrs.....ya those guys were very popular with our troops.....
