  1. Sovereignty doesn't put food on the table or pay rent. Economic activity does.
  2. Cause 20 year olds were totally alive 30 years ago...
  3. Yet the government discriminates based on race and sex for employment.
  4. I'm surprised she lost the kids at all.

Yes, it's terrible to have someone who listens to experts. I'm mortified.

When you don't have the ability to think for yourself and you just follow what self declared 'experts' think then you are vulnerable to appeal to authority fallacies and confirmation bias, which leads to poorer decisions.

  7. Wait, this isn't normal parental behaviour?
  8. Herself. You are using the incorrect pronoun. Or Erect.
  9. Maybe you should ask the person accusing other members of being sociopaths.

      That's pretty sexist.

  11. Perhaps there is a Team C, D, E, etc.
  12. It's far more than just hiring quotas. There is a cultural bias in Canada to hire women over men. It's more socially just, makes people feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and helps such an organization portray the image of 'diversity'.
  13. A young women in her 20's was somehow historically kept from a job where as a young man in his 20's was not? You realize that people in their 20's weren't alive 30 years ago, right? The orwellianly named 'employment equity' is designed to cause discrimination. But in the warped mind of SJWs, such discrimination is just and somehow doesn't count as discrimination.
  14. See, this is the thing, people are individuals. But SJWism is a collectivist ideology. Somehow disadvantaging a young boy today relative to his sister is justified because their great grandmother might have been oppressed relative to their great grandfather. That boy wasn't alive 50 years ago and neither was his sister. Yet the sister having a 33% higher chance of completing university due to greater emotional support, greater access to scholarships and more pushes to get girls into higher education, or the sister having a higher chance of obtaining employment later in life (for example, females have a 2 to 1 hiring advantage in stem) is somehow just. Yet SJWs can't see the unfair treatment of people at the individual level and instead think punishing the young boy for things he did not do is just. It makes as much moral sense as original sin (that somehow all humans are guilty because some talking snake told a magic rib lady to eat a magic fruit) or North Korea's 3 generations of punishment for crime.
  15. Yes, Jacee needs her safe space.
  16. Coming from the person who advocates employment discrimination on the basis of race and sex...
  17. Everything is pointless due to the inevitable heat death of the universe.
  18. Not really. Based on the known world, the size of westeros and the locations of various climates, one can calculate the size of a spherical planet. It is about the size of Earth. http://web.stanford.edu/group/anthropocene/cgi-bin/wordpress/westeros-today-and-the-size-of-the-game-of-thrones-planet/ If one projects the known world onto a sphere http://brilliantmaps.com/westeros/it is pretty clear that at least half of the northern hemisphere of the planet is missing and basically the entire southern hemisphere is missing. So what is west of the Iron Islands? Maybe just a giant pacific ocean. Perhaps a continent (Americatos?). But eventually you could get to Asshai. If it is just a giant pacific ocean, then perhaps it might be faster to get to Asshai by going west by taking advantage of ocean currents.
  19. Well at least there was 1 good thing about Harper. He obtained more free trade agreements than any other prime minister and nearly concluded the TPP & Canada-Europe FTAs. He wasn't pro trade enough though, and his irrational support for supply management probably slowed down our ability to get an FTA with the EU and weakened our negotiating position for the TPP. Too bad we can't have someone like Martha Hall Findlay or Belinda Stronach run the country.
  20. I just speculated a few posts ago. The way I see it, the east coast of Westeros is safer than Essos since Euron plans to go to Essos anyway to marry the dragon queen and also because the east coast of Westeros has potential allies for Theon & Co + safe harbors. An alternative safe location is that they go to the North Coast of Essos, but short of Bravos there isn't much point in being there. A 3rd option is that they sail Westward into the abyss until they reach land (maybe they reach Asshai?), but that seems pointless and risky.
  21. Perhaps people with mainstream opinions view non-mainstream positions as 'troll' positions in order to dismiss them without having to resort to the difficulty of using reason and evidence. A good example is how members of the gynocentric establishment will often dismiss people that bring up men's rights issues (such as the suicide gap or the life expectancy gap) as trolls. Or another example is how waldo dismisses my non-mainstream views on climate change and calls me a 'concern troll' because he can't defeat my well reasoned arguments and he needs to keep a belief in a false dichotomy of positions (alarmism vs denialism) in order to maintain his belief in his position.
  22. With respect to showers, if we were raised from a young age to shower together I doubt we would think much of it. Sort of like how Saudi Arabia makes a big deal over a woman showing her face or in Victorian times people made big deals over women showing their ankles.

  24. Letting blacks into formerly white only washrooms upsets white racists. Letting men into formerly female only washrooms upsets female sexists. Seems very similar to me.
  25. The KKK were uncomfortable when black people were entering the washrooms that they were in. Yet racially segregated washrooms were eliminated despite this. Now some women demand we continue sex/gender segregated washrooms because they will be uncomfortable. Cultural misandry is very strong in our society.
