  1. Wow, I never thought of that. Poor Sophie. Maybe she does need help. We already know that 'feminist' Justin Trudeau is more than willing to hug females without verbal consent. http://regina.ctvnews.ca/trudeau-hugs-interim-conservative-leader-rona-ambrose-1.2889336
  2. What? Can't be. Trudeau is the most well behaved MP in Canadian history. It's not like he sticks his tongue out at people or calls ministers 'pieces of sh*t' in the house of commons... http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/justin-trudeau-allegedly-calls-peter-kent-a-piece-of-s-in-commons/ http://globalnews.ca/news/2684793/i-saw-him-stick-his-tongue-out-trudeau-accused-of-childish-behaviour-in-house-of-commons/
  3. Nah, liberals will still win the next election. They have a giant warchest to fund the next campaign due to their shakedown of corporations http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/ontario-liberals-face-backlash-over-fundraising-pressure-tactics/article29467353/. Besides, who will beat them? The NDP who are just as extreme (actually to be honest, Notley seems like a pretty good premier in comparison)? The pc's who will just elect another religious nutcase who will alienate the majority? One of the smaller parts which no one seems to know of? And of course after the Ontario liberals win the next election, they will implement a similar voting system as what the federal liberals will implement, and the Ontario liberals will completely skip a referendum. Optimality? Roof angles? Pfft, all this negativity isn't how we use Sunny Ways to move towards the 4th industrial revolution. I live near a giant solar panel and the incompetent people running it often point it in the wrong direction. So then why hasn't it returned with the recent low Trudeau dollar? It's not like a tripling of energy prices could have an impact on an energy intensive industry or anything... https://www.thestar.com/business/2014/05/08/magna_says_no_new_plants_for_canada_cites_ontario_energy_costs.html
  4. But nuclear doesn't help us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Let's see... Ontario emits about 12 megatons of CO2 per year. If we were to stop all emissions today (assuming a decay rate of about 100 years for CO2 as it gets absorbed by oceans and a transient climate response of 1.5 C), this works to about 0.36 ppm less atmospheric CO2 and 0.002 C lower global temperatures by 2116.
  5. So you really think that there is zero probability that Trudeau will pull an Obama and delay it for years until cancelling it?
  6. Not all men. Some transmen have difficulty as well as disabled men. Don't generalize.
  7. Our federal government has passed a law recognizing rights of transpeople, yet we still have this archaic male or female binary when it comes to birth certificates, passports, etc. My non-binary roommate was a bit annoyed when we were doing the census earlier this month and we added a bit complaint about it in the comments/suggestions. How does it help anyone if the government has less accurate data on the gender/sex of people in society?
  8. Anyone wish to change their mind on this? Down with segregated washrooms!
  9. ^Is that comment addressed to me? I can't tell. Anyway, once transrights have been addressed, hopefully we can deal with men's rights issues.
  10. Yes, cause Canada is so small that all these planes will collide with each other due to lack of airspace. Not like there are out of control fires or anything.
  11. Have you not heard of section 15 subsection 2 of the supposed 'charter of rights and freedoms'? (2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability. We live in a country that hates equality and was founded on the rejection of people being equal under the law (i.e. monarchy). As for the 'Canadian Human Rights Act'. Yes that wonderful law that is used to deny people freedom of speech and prevents people from publishing Danish cartoons.
  12. Exactly. Equality for all! Down with segregated bathrooms!
  13. That's coming next. Haven't you heard of fat shaming?
  14. This is rich coming from the guy that refuses to accept my sexual orientation (asexual) and gender identity (agender).
  15. Gender isn't sex. And there are more than 2 genders and more than 2 sexes. And there are also KKKers that don't want to use the same bathroom as black people. If people don't like equality, they can go live in Saudi Arabia.
  16. Question: Currently it is allowed to employment discriminate against people of the male sex. If I identify as a transwomen, will it become impossible to get discriminated against (when it comes to employment) for being of the male sex? If someone could please clarify this, I would greatly appreciate it
  17. Canada remains outranked by Sweden. Cool. Can we please extend the job stuff to sex and race as well?
  18. Foreign help is looking appealing... Oh well, guess its better to let Alberta burn to the ground. They are only evil people selling toxic sludge and harming to planet. It's not like they are Quebecois or anything.
  19. New Alberta fires. Too bad Canada refused foreign help.

Canada didn't refuse foreign help - there are US Forest Service air tankers in Manitoba right now.

I love these armchair forest fire experts who can't get a simple fact correct.

Also, now Shady loves Russia! Some say the "offer" from Russia wasn't even really sincere.

    4. overthere

      overthere

It is smoky in Edmonton today, apparently from fires about 150 kms to the west. It is not unusual for this to happen unless it is a wet summer.

  20. Yep. A lot of chivalry going on here. Poor delicate incapable Sophie needs us to cater to her every whim.
  21. So because the US has a dumb law, Canada should also implement a dumb law?
  22. For those who think that a pm's spouse is such an important position, are you saying that single people should be excluded from ever being prime minister? How about people who are divorced or are widowed? Being a spouse to a pm shouldn't matter because it's the only way to ensure that marital status has nothing to do with the position. But then again, we have a government that greatly hates merit and is all about birth right and identity politics. So if they thought that being married was a 'qualification', it wouldn't surprise me.
  23. I want to do my part to make this country a better place. Please use tax payer money to hire me 2 staff members, 2 nannies and a giant palace.
  24. The Prime Minister is elected because all MPs are elected and all Prime Ministers are MPs. Do you need me to draw you a Venn Diagram?
  25. It didn't have a spot for Barrack Obama either. Does that mean Obama wasn't elected? What exactly are you trying to argue here?
