  1. There are so many countries, and so many if ands or buts, there will never be an enforcable agreement. The have nots gang up on the haves, and the have nots build in exceptions for themselves, in order to catch the haves (China, India). No pain to them. Harper must do what is best for his country. Treaties are made, and treaties are broken or canceled.
  2. No it is not democracy, it is double posting. There is a difference. One is a political format and the other is forum etiquette.
  3. I know a woman who works several jobs because she likes to work. There are some people who actually enjoy it, Higgly not with standing.
  4. No, he can not. He is a fraud. He is a dumb a$$ who thinks he is smart. He is just getting going. Watch.
  5. What is the problem? What is the solution? Do you know? What is wrong with tailoring your policies to the people you want to vote for you? Any dips@it would do the same, including you.
  6. Impolite being the opposite of polite? I thought being impolite was against the rules, but perhaps not.
  7. Now that is the kind of English usage I would expect from an educated man.
  8. For what. That their revolt did not work. Too bad. Revolts do not always work. Any DipS@it knows that.
  9. No you hint did not help, but the link below did. Thanks gc1765. BTW, it is not the first time I have been called an idiot here. Thanks for the compliment. It seems that idiot is one compliment which is not filtered by the software. I guess you know that because you do not attempt to hide its spelling. I know, that multidegree from top major universities thing.
  10. I think it is great that a university operates the site, but which university, and why not publicize it? Maybe interest future students to apply. I would think it would be something a university would NOT want to do. There is a no win for them. Uncovered cost, no direct student benefit, except maybe the site is run by students, no publicity. But if it were students running it, almost no moderator participation, a good experience for a student. It doesn't make sense.
  11. In hindsight, we know that the interment of the Japanese during WWII was a mistake ONLY because they were not disloyal. There was only about ten spies convicted for working for Japan, and none of them Japanese. This does not follow that the Moslims would be AS loyal as the Japanese proved to be. In war, there is no way to play the game except to win. Germany and Japan lost WWII and made out pretty well for not winning, but Germany following WWI was a basket case.
  12. You remind me of Nostradamus (SP?), your writing is like a puzzle. Was Craig Read modish? while complaisant? while relentless? If he was, was that a good thing or a bad thing?
  13. I do not see Bush as a mistake. Yes I would like to see the US out of Iraq, I wish we never got there. However, I do not think Iraq would have happened were it not for 911. The US is not attacking Iran, or N Korea. Further, when compared to Gore and Kerry, I still think Bush was the better choice. Not much to choose from. Maybe blame Clinton for not picking a better VP in the first place. Gore has become wierder than he origionally was, and this latest with Kerry throws just more light on his character flaws. For me, all of your Prime Ministers from Trudeau through Martin have seemed to be antiAmerican. That to me would be a bell weather, but then, I am American. I get your radio, and some TV, but I do not understand more than Alberta thinks it is getting a raw deal, you have institutionalized language descrimination through your CRAFreedoms, the French Canada sometimes wants to separate from English Canada. The last time I was listening to the radio there was going to be some protest about what I think was a native rights issue. (Caledonia?) The announcer seemed to indicate that it was a hot political topic nobody wanted to address. Perhaps something like our Mexican border issue. The latest I was in Toronto was the fall of last year. I found it a hard city to navagate, so I stopped at a mall for directions. I was surprised at what appeared to be alot of non native born there, but the people I met there were very nice.
  14. I think myspace is where kids go, and can place pictures of themselves, or talk about how they are going to blow up their school. It is not exactly a forum of adults. Children are a protected group, sexually, and physically. To find someone, physically, from adult forum participation would be almost impossible. As far as banning, I was told in another post that two were banned here last week. I think what the owner of the board wants is profit. The profit comes from somewhere, I am not sure exactly how it works. Perhaps search engines. The usage of the board being the key. More hits more money. The owner is also under pressure to hold a clean board, but yet get hits.
  15. I have not experienced that. It is nothing to get all that worked up over either. People's personalities come through, and a mental image is made. We have all met people with similar personalities in real life. Just as in real life, you deal with it or ignore it, only in cyber world you just turn off the electricity. I am not in favor of this banning thing though, especially if it is accompanied with complaints. Usually, things sort themselves out on their own. If no one talks with so and so, they get tired of talking to themselves, and leave on their own.
  16. Simply avoid the poster. Do not answer his posts, and say you will not. Or work together with other posters to hammer him. Tell him he is rude and out of bounds, or go toe to toe. Sometimes humor. But it is part of the fun of internet forums to play mental tennis.
  17. RB, thank you for your thoughtful writeup. I think I understood everything except the above paragraph. Was he responsable for his own fate, or was he a victim of his political persuasion. I guess that is the question. It sounds like he was a powerful and intelligent poster. Perhaps too much so.
  18. I have seen it before, what starts out as part time fun grows into something else. It becomes a job. I am a member of another forum where the founder sold it. He actually found a buyer, and it is still in operation.
  19. I am. Another good candidate.
  20. I second his offer. He seems quite reasonable, and balanced.
  21. I am curious, how was he abusive. Did he call someone an idiot, or stupid. Part of his language would also follow the context of the conversation. What was the language of the other poster? My concern is only that a Black Dog complained to Greg over and over, and Puff, Gone.
  22. To impeach a president would take two years of hearings by the time it is all done. Cheney is not interested in becoming President. Perhaps the Democrats can impeach Bush, take maybe a year and a half, and then Cheney can be President for six months. Then when the Democrats elect a President, he/she will have a bulls eye painted on their back. If it is not real, it can be setup.
  23. I have never, nor has it ever occured to me to complain about a poster. In other forums I have participated, the moderators seem to appear. I just assumed they were reading all the posts. To complain to a moderator would be similar to telling the teacher, or Mom. Something similar to not being able to take care of oneself, and needing a grownup.
  24. There is an edit button. You can edit your posts. I do it all the time.
