Nope; the more you do for them and give them; the more they want. If I lived in eastern Canada perhaps I would re learn French. I did learn French but have forgotten most of it due to no where to use it. Quebec likes to be treated special and do its own thing all the time. This is one they can have; we do not need to learn a language that we will never use just to TRY to make them happy. But this is about restricting people from speaking a language; probably their first language; because they MIGHT discuss something violent in church???? whhat is the world coming too. To even consider such actions is completely distasteful and unnecessary. Next you will not want us wearing costumes from our homelands. Oh by the way; I was born in Canada. My mother's family would be amongst the first settlers here (Irish) my father came from Scotland and spoke English ( with a bit of a brogue to be sure but proper English) I would love to hear everyone speaking MY language but I certainly do not believe that one should be restricted from speaking or learning one's first language or any relatives first language

Why would it help us??? We need those Americans who think as we do to stay in the USA and fight back. We need a friendlier America and we need those Americans to stay in their own country and make those changes.

We are already experiencing a shortage of flu vaccine (made in Canada) due to the large number of Americans being forced to come here for their flu shots. Our high risk patients are being put on hold. If this practice of selling drugs to Americans is allowed to run unchecked; we will have more shortages and less time for doctors to attend to our needs. Why work and deal with patients when they can get rich okaying American partients prescriptions without even seeing the patient.

Why not. We only need to know one language here in BC; after that we are and must be free to learn any darn language that we want. We are still "free people" are we not. Why should we not chose to learn a second language that we may use for employment or to enable us to converse with relatives in the home country. You are starting to want to use controls just like Bush is doing. Let's keep Canadians free to make our own choices as long as we are not hurting anyone else. People who want to commit act of terrorism can probably communicate in English quite well.

And they have religious nuts in the USA speaking English. We are a multinational country. We should not take away the rights of anyone anywhere including their religion to forbid them to speak their mother tongue. Sounds like something coming from the Patriot Act. Avoid problems by checking who we are allowing to immigrate to Canada.

Nationalize Healthcare; let the federal government run the whole show and quit the squabbling for more cash from the provinces for more money. The Premiers have no desire to run our medical system efficiently when it is their prybar to get more money from the fed. Even the Premiers admitted ; it would be cheaper and more equal to have the Federal government run pharmacare. In BC we do pay medicare premiums to the province; we have also lost many procedures that were previously included; eye check ups, chiropractors, physiotherapy, etc. A much higher deductible on pharmacare for seniors and longer waiting times. All the extra money spent on medical went to doctors only, all others had their wages cut or reduced. We do have private clinics operating in BC and we are facing shortages in hospitals as the employ staff from the public system.

Brian just take a taxi and quit the Drinking and driving or stay home and drink all you want. Just stay looff the roads when you are drinking.

We have more parties than the USA; it will not often happen that ANY prime minister gets over 50%. At least we have the leader of the opposition there in the house with an important job of questioning the ruling party and trying to keep thintgs honest and the public informed. I don't think they are leaving because they don't think the election was valid; they wish to leave as they do not like the path the USA is taking.

Why would we want to do that. People changing jobs get caught without insurance. Insurance companies refuse insurance to someone with a pre existing disease. I would rather see co payments for those who visit a doctor too often without a serious disease that needs close observance. We have all heard horror stories of medical problems in the USA. People losing their homes to pay the costs. Fine tune our system; it can be done.

Live on in your dream world CR. Someday you Americans will have to pay the bills for the damage done in Iraq and all the young American soldiers who will be maimed for life. Perhaps another Timothy Mcveigh like after the first Gulf War. These young people often come home with more than physical injuries. The USA now has its largest deficit ever; the USA dollar is sinking below all other currencies due to this huge deficit.

After reading a recent issue of the economist, I would rather breathe the air in the U.S. than the air in China. Americans produce the biggest amount of pollution, but they try to clean the air. China people don't do that stuff.
