I sure do and the way Bush is pushing countries around is acting as a dictator. What right does he or his Ambassador have to pressure other countries how to respond to international actions. We do not have a choice in voting for him, do we. There are Canadian bodies in Europe; there are many many Iraqi bodies in Iraq and body bags being sent home to many countries on an INVASION that had no justification. A democratic country acts democratically on the international stage TOO. That is why the UN was set up after WWII. Bush went against the wishes and intelligence of the majority of NATO. War was never declared as it had no validity in IraQ. Bush and his coalition INVADED Iraq much as Hitler invaded other countries. When a country is in the right; they have no problem declaring WAR. The USA should have kept their sights on reigning in the terrorists that they were searching for in Afghanistan; instead of allowing them to spread out and thanks to Bush's pre emptive strike on Iraq; they were able to have many many Muslim recruits join them because of the unjustified attack on a Muslim country that was cooperating with the weapons inspectors and even destroying some borderline illegal weapons. Being American does not make one RIGHT; being American does not allow them to attack any country they choose. Beign Canadian does not mean we must follow the Americans into an illegal invsion.

It is not what our media tells us that is the problem; it is that they do not report on. Our own media is mainly owned by Can West and they tend to only report on that which promotes their own point of view. Too much opinion and not enough facts.

I think we can look after ourselves as well as the next country. However, since we Canadians HAVE been there for them; why should that change. Those types of unusual tradgedies usually bring international support; friend and foes. Not high on my list of bending over backwards to a dictator (Bush)

No, they can throw them in jail for income tax invasion. As for someone unable to pay property tax; they can sell the home, pay what they owe and rent. Nobody gets a free ride. I think if there is a tempory problem; the government can delay tax collection.

Obviously, you just skimmed the article for that which supports your case; go back and read it again particularly the Byrd amendment. WTO is only advisory and did not give a full win to the USA. Under NAFTA which DOES have teeth; the USA lost and were told that Canadian imports do NOT harm the American lumber industry; they are going for an extra ordinary exemption. they have never won one yet. No Canada is NOT wrong in this situation.

Good, that's the way it should be. We need to be healthy; can't enjoy those tax cuts when you are on a waiting list for medical procedures and suffering in pain. They will send you to physiotherapy (Uncovered) for a year at 50 dollars a week or more. Not too many budgets can pay this cost for something that medical doesn't cover and which would not be necessary with the needed operation. Others die on that waiting list. Tax cuts won't help them.

Where did you get this information? Article says nothing about Quebec wanting to give USA veto but not Canada. It does say 8 states are consulted but that in Canada they only need to ask approval of "either" Quebec or Ontario. Shouldn't this be an agreement between our two federal governments?????

And actually does not really exist any longer; You may have considered him a "benevolent" dictator I did not. Nor do I find Bush to be a "benevolent" dictator; but a dictator all the same. Perhaps not techinically, in the USA but he is making decisions outside of the USA where we do not get to vote.

This makes no sense at all. She was an Iraqi citizen married to an Iraqi man for 30 years. I believe that I heard an appeal from some "terrorist" group demanding that she be released unharmed. Something just does not make sense. There may be more to this than we know. I just have a feeling that this is something other than terrorists killing a "western" hostage.

I presume you meant tax CUTS. I thought this was already dealt with and the surplus was being put on our deficit. We do want the money going to fix our health care programs. That has been everyone's policy except the right wing Conservatives and BC Liberals (Conservatives except by name)

I think you hit the nail on the head eureka; if these babies come from impoverished families that are not eating well; it would explain the low birth weight and infant mortality. A healthy well fed mother generally produces healthy children.
