Surrey Panorama Ridge BC By-Election

South Asian includes many more than Indo Canadians. duh. Then what is his excuse when running for the federal election as a conservative he lost to independent Chuck Cadman. Chuck is defintiely not east Indian. -
This page has a table comparing the payments made by various provinces. Alberta, despite its wealth is not one of the most generous.
-
I would be interested too. I don't think Alberta is any worse than most other provinces. Living here in Vancouver; you would be lucky to rent a regular cheap apartment for that much.

Scientific America or some article by some author published in the magazine????? There is a BIG difference. -

Sorry, if there was anytime for the conservatives to win; it was the last election. The Liberals have been chastised. The majority of Canadians do not want to align ourselves with much of the present USA administration and the fiasco in Iraq. The majority of Canadian (other than those who only think of money) do not like being pressured to do something we do not agree with. We do not invade disarming countries nor invade any country without just cause and credible evidence of such just cause. -

I gave you the facts; unless you can prove them wrong don't argue the point. They are the facts. -

I don't think Stoker is as dumb as he lets on; he just likes to argue without providing any proof of his position. You know a friendly troll. -

This is about equalization payment tha t are in place to bring poorer provinces up to a level to be able to fund social programs. When a province starts making money; which they should all strive for; then equalization programs should be cut. BC is at this time heading back into the Have province status and will not be receiving any equalization payments. I don't think we ever did recieve all that much. We are not talking about the regular transfer payments. The maritimes province already get the lions share of our EI with their seasonal employment industries. -
What really gets me is how are these permanently disable people expected to live on 850 per month. They need more than that to live. We need to house and feed them more economically. We need to build housing for them that enables them to get around better and share the extra help they need. We pay more for people to travel all over to help them. Pooling resources and letting them live in a building that makes things more accessible to them including transportation to allow them to get out into the community. I would like to see the mentally handicapped returned to a more segregated community setting where they can be better looked after and controlled. Letting them out on the streets where they drift into drugs, homelessness and harassing others is not a step forward. I am not talking about lock up but places where they can be given jobs and learn to take care of themselves adequately. Allowing them to decide for themselves is not the responsible way. Many are not capable of making good decisions without help. It is not in their best interests nor is it isn the best interests of the community at large. Many of these people are unpredictable and could endanger others.

Yes, but start looking things up for yourself Stoker. You need to learn a bit more before you keep shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe you could learn a thing or two. Don't you know how to use google? -

To go by the track record of Bush and co is laughable. They sure went for unproven and fraudulent intelligence reports of Iraq/Saddam having a large store of WMD. And that Iraqis would be welcoming them with open arms. -

While this riding does have a large Indo Canadian population; it is only 21 %. That leaves a 69% population that is non indo Canadian. This is the riding where Chuck won as and independent candidate beating out his Conservative replacement Cheema. So there goes your theory. phhhht. -

By the time you are ready to go back into diapers; I hope you gain some insight into life and politics. The government in power is not to blame for everything from soup to nuts and that the wheels of justice grind slowly. too slowly. -

Bro; we saw what Harper had to offer and rejected it soundly. We don't need a leader with his head up Bush's butt. Thanks but no thanks. -

We don't need short memories; We know what damage Campbell is doing to this province with his cuts to children's ministries; closing hospitals, raising medicare with longer waiting times for medical procedures or appointments. We have seen the alternative to the NDP and the NDP wins hands down. I would prefer a more central party but when it comes to choices; I will choose the NDP over the ruthless right wing Campbell "Liberals: -

Well Stoker; just watch what happens on May 11th. By the way are you saying that white women come lower on the totem pole than ethnic minorities. OK ladies; next election let's just vote for the most credible female candidate irregardless of party. Unless it is conservative -

Brto, you are just making things up. I suppose the Liberals are to blame for our lousy weather, too. The police investigation will take its course with no input from government. Just because there isn't a lot of media hoop la does not mean the wheels of justice are not rolling. -
OH, I do believe that he will win. I just think it is time for the party and Province to elect a more dignified and mature leader who doesn't always shoot off at the mouth and say the wrong things. Oh well, that is Alberta's problem. Hopefully, we in BC WILL replace his buddy here in BC come May 11th. Perhaps we will elect the first female provincial premier. We did have the first; just not elected.

If we cannot even trust our mother country to be open and honest with us; who can we trust. We should build our own ships.
