  1. That is old news. Not surprising. I would like to know what else and who else is involved and who did the hiring and checks. This is mainly a Campbell mess; his government hired this turkey and the others. Martin cannot be responsible for whom supports his election campaign. Who hired Basi and the other ministerial aids that are involved/ He should be walking the plank.
  2. Not westerners; Albertans. This present government is more right wing than we have ever seen in BC and I and many others will be glad to see them gone. It has meant a larger gap between rich and poor; a sell off of our assets to foreign interests; even selling off our flu vaccine for foreign interests and we do pay medicare premium as well as our usual taxes. We have new and increased taxes and licenses and we have still got deeper in debt. We have higher tuitions, less money being spent on children's ministries union contracts trashed. Senior's benefits trashed. For what????? To make rich employers richer and the rest of us make 3rd world employment rates and standard including child labour.
  3. No but he is killing thousands of Iraqis without just cause and sending young Americans to die or be maimed for something that does not protect America from terroristic attacks; in fact it has made that more likely. IMHO and in many experts opinions. He has allowed the torture of prisoners of war and ignored the rights of those prisoners under Geneva conventions To keep our criticisms of Bush to ourselves and not make waves to avoid retaliatory trade relations is a big mistake. That is how the world reacted to Hitler for a long time until things became unbearable
  4. They ARE getting 100 % of their oil money; they want to keep 100% of their original equalization money, too. In other words now that they have a job they want to still collect their welfare payments. Martin did offer them a few years of continued equalization payments. It seems NFLD wants to keep all their new found wealth and their previous support payments. Greed; pure and simple. No sympathy here.
  5. Yeah right. Many drunks are mean and assault women and children and engage in road rage. Not a driving one but it is a drinking one. How many DUIs do you have. Drunk drivers kill children, mothers, fathers and other innocent people. Our money IS being wisely spent if it saves one life.
  6. This is a BC law not one in Ontario. What have those children have to do with our BC money being spent to keep drunk drivers off the road.
  7. The provinces have had their shot at running our health care and have shown themselves to be too interested in using our healthcare as a tool to pry more money from the feds with no strings attached. Why no strings; so they can use that money for their own pet projects. There is a lack of real interest in having our health care run smoothly; they lose that public supported tool. We need a REAL national healthcare system run by the federal government. Even the premiers suggested it would be better and cheaper for the feds to run a pharmacare program.
  8. Don't count on it. A friend and customer of mine A duel citizen had over a 100 emails today from American friends seeking advice on coming to Canada and even a few enquiries from strangers about working here. He owns a company that does work for out courts. big buck jobs.
  9. Yes, he better start talking. My husband is high risk and has been waiting for a call from his doctor re his shots. I hear he is considering taking the tolls off the Coquihalla now. Do you think he is getting desperate to win next election.
  10. I would like to see tuition fees kept reasonable but never free. Too many would go to university that are not willing to put in an honest effort as when they need to pay up themselves.
  11. What a dumb joke. Don Cherry????? what a waste of time.
  12. Just remember who is the biggest polluter; answer the USA. Less industrialized countries such as China and India have not contributed as much to world pollution. I would be we Canadians are among the top polluters, too.
  13. Be grateful. We may need the new markets that are opening up there. Plus we need a big power to counterbalnce the USA . We need another cold war to keep things under control. The world was a safer place when leaders thought before acting.
  14. Are you not posting this in the wrong section? This should be US/Canadian relations. I wouldn't doubt it. However, you may soon be able to call me anti American.
  15. So then it really is not worth mentioning. Mary Polak's action trying to bring the books on homosexuality into primary schools was probably a bigger factor but the Liberals policies are the biggest reason.
  16. yeah right. We are shallow here in BC but hopefully not that shallow.
  17. Well it was definitely Harper, in my books. Going to the USA and apologizing for Canada not joining the USA in the Iraq fiasco. The rest was just icing on the cake. Harper has taken the party too far right for many of us.
  18. Slavik I nor yourself seems to know what you think. You can't have it both ways. It was basically because of the unpopularity of the Liberals; plain and simple.
  19. good idea. How did the NDP turn into global warming anyhow. Seems many of these discussions get side tracked.
  20. Stoker may want "proof". He doesn't believe in a little common sense most times,
  21. That IS the main reason; so don't go looking for excuses. Too bad the Conservatives didn't recognize the po;ularity of Cadman before they allowed him to be replaced by an ethnic chosen candidate. Not too bright; were they. And telling him that he would not be welcome back in the party if he did run and win. That probably helped him get elected. Oh and why should I drop the "Cadman thing" doesn't fit with your argument. hmmm
  22. We don't have to wait for fiction; we get enough nonsense from GWB from the day he took office. He and his ambassador should learn to keep their mouths shut. The actions of the USA under Mr Bush's CHENEY's leadership has been nothing to brag about. It has alienated "old friends" and increased the threat of terrorism.
  23. Well Bro; the excuses being made are by the BC Liberal (conservative) people so I guess you have changed your political outlook. hmmmm
  24. Not usually. But if the conservatives replace Harper with someone more rational; perhaps.
  25. No, I do not. I am quite satisfied with the information that I quoted. You need to come up with a source that claims otherwise; and is for 2004; like mine. Mine was government election sources for 2004
