Put your money where your mouth is. If you don't like their business practices; don't shop or work there. Go to a store that pays their employees well and buys from sources that do not exploit the workers. Do be prepared to pay a little more. I do, I want to buy where I can get service and buy items made by more skilled workers so I have more durable trustworthy products. I don't like wasting my free time waiting in lineups to buy or to return shoddy merchandise.

Maybe, you have better drivers than ours. People get thrown around all the time. Since we have made it the law that buses get the right of way; things have gone down hill. The drivers seem to think they can do anything including going through red lights and just honking at anyone waiting to step out on the walk signal. There is too much pressure on the drivers to stay on schedule over driving with due care. People sit in the seats for seniors and handicapped and the majority do not get up for seniors or handicapped and the bus drivers generally do not insist that they do so. On our train system; a man got on with one leg and one hand and no one offered him a seat. I was disgusted. Money is the issue for the government; their rationale is excuses.

Well, according to transport canada; big blue is right. However, I think the same rationale goes with our own cars. Seat belts need to be improved to be more adjustable to properly fit everybody before they are really that good. I am short and find the seat belt cuts across my throat. Besides hindering my ability to look around; if I were in an accident; it would probably choke me. I think the real reason is money and if safety were the real issue; they wouldn't be allowed to cram us on the buses standing. Nor would they be allowed to cram us into skytrain; with nothing to even hold onto; next to a door that says; may open without warning.

I think not putting seat belts in a school bus is irresponsible. If there were an accident they would be thrown all around all over each other. How dare they not have seat belts in a bus and yet expect us to wear them in our own private vehicles. The Kids will wear them or walk . A monitor is a good idea as the driver needs to concentrate on driving.

We do not need to give more power to the provinces; it makes a weak country. That is Canada's problem now; too much power to the provinces. Too many duplications of services that could be done more efficiently and cost effactive by a central government. Health Care is a good example.

BC is cleaning up selling coal to China. Prices are doubling; we may reopen some ghost towns. India is another growing market. We just have to be able to adjust and sell the products they need.

We are NOT a two cultural country; We are a multicultural country. Our First Nations people have more rights than the English majority or the French minority. We just have two official languages. Paul Martin has done quite well with his international dealing; surprisingly (to me) despite a lack of support from the USA and his newness as a Prime Minister. He has an agreement with Mexico regarding dealing with trade disputes with the USA. He has had positive feedback from many nation regarding his "L 20" idea, and has had an agreement approved by the francophone nations. Not that shabby for a newbie; probably a lot of Chretien ideas but nonethe less ok.

It really is a lot of bs regarding smokers as they tax cigarettes heavily to "pay for the costs" and then some try to sue the cigarette companies for health care costs. I don't see this same clamour for taxing or prohibitting booze which causes many health problems, accidents, and spousal abuse which our health system pays for. I know there are many drugs that they will not cover for unknown reasons. I know of a prostrate drug, certain prescription eye drops and MS drug and many pain medications. Yet we pay the catastrophic costs of drugs for HIV despite the fact that it is usually contracted these days due to the victims careless sexual practices. We do not complain or we may be called heartless, discriminatory or gay bashing.
