  1. Yes, amazingly, it is see saw Marjory Daw. We will see how things pan out. This is certainly no surge. Perhaps if it is shown that Campbells massacre of the hospital unions has lead to the real surge in infections in the hospitals; heads will roll. Hopefully, Campbells. Or the two key Minister's resignations may indicate that there will be more revealed regarding the raids on the legislature and the dope dealing / addicted ministerial aides.
  2. Yes. round this house it sure did..Notice past tense. Oh well.
  3. IN hockey; CANADA RULES he he. Anyhow, we are just having fun and dreaming. relax
  4. I think it would be quite a stretch(economic hardships maybe) but even if they could stretch it; as half the teams are American; not very likely or possible. Why do the owners need the players to approve a cap; why do they need the players to police the owners???? I think it is getting ridiculous and the can say goodbye to a lot of season ticket holders. They are still holding on to our money all this time.
  5. This should be in provincial but hmmmmm things are getting interesting. Two top ministers both somewhat connected to the ministerial aides caught up in the raid on the legislature. Relative and a boss???? Hmmm Wonder if there is a connection with the sudden resignation of two of Campbell's closest top ranking ministers. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  6. Why; if they got them back playing hockey; they might get my vote hehe. Run Betteman outta the country.
  7. HUH?????? Were we North Americans not involved there , too?????? Give us a break. The USA is now involved in Iraq; certainly do not need to go back to civil war> Anyhow, this is a discussion regarding wealth and welfare of various countries not war.
  8. Any attack on civillians without declaring war is dispicable but unfortunately that discription does not belong to the Taliban alone; it fits the American's actions, too. The whole situation seems to have come about because the USA did not try to broker a real peace in the Middle East. The USA has blindly supported Israel in its aggressive attacks on the Palestinians/ Muslims. It may have begun to protect Israel from the Arab forces that wished to completely rid the world of Jewish Israel but now the pendulum has moved way too far in the other direction. Neither Israel nor the USA shows any repect of international law or fair play. Why should they expect any better from those countries/peoples that it has displaced without a homeland while Israel grows larger on former Arab land.
  9. Maple you are too left for the most left leaning NDP er. What do you have against people working and contributing to their own welfare. Your kind of world would kill any incentive to work hard and succeed.
  10. Gee, I thought that was called "dumping" and made most countries a little ticked off as it hurts their own industries. The USA bends over backwards to accuse Canada of dumping to stop our industries from trading there. They don't seem to see our lower prices as a "benefit" They would prefer their consumers to have to pay higher prices.
  11. the cartoon never came up
  12. Whaaat. He hasn't been in office long but he has delivered on the money part for our health care. Be a little more specific; what promises hasn't he delivered on that could have been accomplished this quickly with a minority government.
  13. I do, You have been to Richmond? So does that make you an expert?????? This is Canada; we don't need our own Hong Kong here. They will be asking for special consideration just like Quebec. Nip it in the bud. We English speaking Canadians are quickly being drowned out by immigrants that are not getting any encouragement to learn to speak one of Canada's official languages.
  14. Well it is a lot more than your 4% here in BC. There is the matter of priniple and obeying trade laws and international laws. Under Bush, The American government seems to believe itself above the laws that it has signed on to. You may forget your principles in order to keep your trade flowing with the USA; I will not. There are many other countries that would welcome trade (and are) with Canadian companies and not play power trips.
  15. What I have is a disgust for a civilized modern country like our former friend the USA to be acting like terrorists. Not all Americans have been proud of the actions of their country.
  16. Don't play dense (although you may be a little thick headed) the USA gets the resources it needs without needing to resort to force. They may pay royalties but that is not the issue. The middle east could shut down the pipeline and the greedy american consumerism and war machines would grind to a halt without a ready supply whatever the cost. duh
  17. Becoming "Canadian" under one law does not kill ones culture. We have many people from other countries that keep a lot of their cultures and make Canada a more diverse and interesting place to live. The Quebec French speaking people could keep their language and other customs without getting special treatment in all areas; so can Canada's natives. Why do we hand out cash to them all. We try to keep the best of all cultures. They need more money being spent on trating alcoholism and drug treatment and counselling. Give them back their pride and make them contributing members of our country. There are many reserves that have cleaned up their act and are successful thriving communitites. Spend more money on their schools; good school lunches for the kids that come from families with alcohol and drug problems or simply poor so that they don't continue down the same road as their parents. More successful natives need to spend some time mentoring these young people and show them that an effort spent on their schooling will lead to success and that they need not follow in their alcoholic parents steps. The invaders of our country brought this problem to them; we need to eradicate that problem by helping the adults as much as possible but to really concentrate and have the services there for the children so they can rise above the poverty and drinking and drug problems that are present on many reserves.
  18. Of course we should not and would not sub contract our defense to the USA. Get real. Who would want to be defended by a bunch of trigger happy kids from a country that doesn't abide by international laws.
  19. Whi in the H cares if we anger the "Americans" by seeking justice. Nothing smug about it. That is what supposedly makes us civilized; abiding by laws. If GWB will not; he should be made an example of. You want us to keep quiet and allow a country to do as they wish contrary to agreed on international laws; and all for the Yankee dollar. Do you have no self respect. They all ignored Hitler and allowed him to gain power so as not to anger him and have his attention turned in their direction. Do we need to get another lesson on not allowing a tyrant to grow in strength. Besides trade relations with the USA sucks. There again they ignore signed international agreements. They are handing out Canadian Lumber comapanies money to subsidize their own lumber companies against WTO
  20. You mean the few scapegoats; they did the same with Vietnam. Those kids being prosecuted were following orders. Yeah sure mm hmm and Nixon claimed " I am not a crook" I suppose you believed him too. what a giggle.
  21. And if you ever come back; it will still probably be raining. We do sometimes get a dry spell in summer though. Where did you get that idea; if they were so receptive to the idea of English signs; why are there none. Who was stopping them? I used to shop in Richmond quite often; no more since the "takeover" and the attitude of some merchants towards non Asians
  22. She sure beats a drunk driving premier and a bunch of dope using/selling ministerials aids. Plus Campbell has been selling off our assets and making cuts to children's ministries and downgrading our Health care after jacking up premiums. I could go on and on and on......
  23. And just what do you think is happening even now with the Americans there. It is a mess. I don't necessarily promote the idea that the USA should get out of Iraq now. They should never have gone in. But now that they have and done such damage to the country"s infrastructure; they are responsible for repairing their damage.
  24. Nobody "forced" them to do anything. They did it for the "yankee dollar" Other countries such as Zimbabwe have self destructed their own countries with unwise political manuevers. Sure, these countries were exploited; we should offer help but No one is blameless in the situation. Droughts and wars have furthered instability in these countries. They keep having more and more children that they cannot feed. India uses condoms they are supplied with for all sorts of non sexual uses including water proof roofing.
  25. Friendly fire accidents in the heat of battle can happen; however; this is much too frequent and done when evasive actions could be done until they confirm their target is enemy. The Brits did not have the same record of "friendly fire" incidents. The Americans are trigger happy bunch of scared sh..tless kids. Many others are simply trigger happy cowboys. Remember our Canadian soldiers and how inexcusable were their deaths. The plane could easily have evaded the fire and take time to confirm the target was friendly.
