Well you would lose your bet. A tiny island vs a very large populated country with a quick growing economy. As for those who suggest that we should not have embassies in countries that do not meet our ideals; how do you expect the world to change for the better if we do not interact and talk to each other. When diplomacy works it will usually have more lasting effect than does invading and bombing a country and it inhabitants because WE don't like their leader.

I think for the most part most semi drivers are good and careful drivers. A semi with a lighter load or empty will pass a fully loaded rig. so what. Most of the traffic problems are by cars doddling in the left land instead of moving over. In cases of an accident a trucker is more likely to come to your aid than a regular driver.

The Americans torturing prisoners in Iraq and Cuba sure shows that the USA has a long way to go before it can preach to others.

Libya is NOT proof that the USA invaded Iraq over oil. Iraq is a big oil producer compared to Libya plus it puts America there in the middle east where it can exert pressure on all the oil producing countries. You don't ignore a country or bomb the h out of it because it has a dictator. Bush may be elected in the USA but he is acting as a dictator to the rest of the world. So, I suppose you would agree that we cut trade and relations with the USA. Negotiations and a little good faith bargaining can bring better and more lasting results than wars or illegal invasions.

Well, after all the information we have been slowly shown about the actions of many of the armed forces; thay is too widespread to be just the individuals who are scape goated for the " greater good" . We have American military personnel now asking for sanctuary in Canada because they couldn't stomach being order to kill civillians in Iraq. The young soldiers deserve and get my sympathy without a doubt but reverence NOPE. I am as indignant about the loss of innocent American soldier's lives as well as the innocent Iraqi civillians.

The "Americans" are innocent; perhaps I would have believed that "the Americans" were"innocent" but that was before they re=elected GWB. The Canadians are the innocent recipients of USA arrogance and bullying.

How should Canada respond to the missile defense system; Stay out; the tests they have preformed always fail. A recent low publicized 6 million dollar failure. Let's hope their next failure doesn't land in a populated area of Canada.

This is not a popularity contest. The Americans are ignoring International laws. The USA has not a great record for its own humanitarian rights. Blacks have only been allowed to vote or go to the same schools for a very short time. The South is full of religious crackpot religion. Perhaps they should clean up[ their own back yard before attacking others. If the Iranians or Iraqis want democracy; it is their fight to lead; not the "foreign devils". Democracy means "the people" decide not the Americans.

Not true, at all; There are lots of drugs we can take and buy that are legal. Have you never been in a drug store??? Some require a prescription but the sheklves are full of over the counter drugs; some stronger drugs are the pharmacy counter that only require that you ask the pharmacist for them.

It is the fault of the teams that wanted to buy the Stanley cup and overpaid the players.What do you think the cap is; why do they need the players to activate a cap; do it themselves with self control. The players are the only ones making any concessions. Without the big stars the owners own NOTHING but a money gobbling hockey arena.

Quantity; duh Then when they get a reliable fan base; raise prices. We don't pay the big bucks to see the owners; we pay to see the hockey players; the best ones.

Bull. iT IS THE OWNERS FAULT; Why should the players need to police them. It is their responsibility to only use players that they can afford. It was, Philedelphia owners trying to "BUY" a stanley cup and paying top players extravagant prices to join their team that started this ball rolling. Since the players offer that large cut to their salaries; it is time the owners got off their duffs and return to playing hockey. Control their own spending. If a player wants too much don't sign him. Well run teams with responsible ownership and fan appeal CAN make money. The players make the game possible; suffer the life long injuries with resulting arthritis etc; lose their teeth; get smashed in the face with a puck. Let the owners use a little self discipline and better marketing of the games. If they can't get sell out crowds; lower their darn ticket prices.
